Wow were we surprised when we arrived. Much nicer that photos displayed.
We picked fresh oranges. tangerines and grapefruit. Our dog had PLENTY of room to run.
Very comfortable beds and house to live in. We loved all the quail we saw. It was really fun watching all the different horses get trained. Jennifer even showed my daughter how to brush a horse-thanks Jenny! My daughter did not want to leave, every morning she fed the chickens all our veggie scraps, and named all the chickens.
This was a great 'home away from home' for us. The house was in great condition and the location was perfect. We have relatives in Davis and the house is very conveniently located for all things in and around Davis. The owners were very gracious and made us feel like we were part of the ranch 'family'
Clean, comfy, quiet place outside of town. This was our second time staying at the Horse Ranch and loved it more than the first. The house is clean and well kept and the surroundings peaceful. The kids love visiting the horses (and all the room to run around the property, except it was too hot this time to stay outdoors too long!). We love the quiet mornings and evenings and the STARS at night!!! We picked the sweetest peaches from the orchard and made a pie! Wish we were around the property more, we would have sampled all the varieties of fruit which were so abundant and just falling to the ground--the owner was kind enough to invite us to eat as much as we like! The location is convenient, near the highway and just a short drive into town for errands, groceries, etc. The only suggestion I'd make to the owners is to supply more cooking and eating utensils (they were pretty sparse) and a hot water kettle, and that it would be nice if someone turned on the A/C to cool the house before a tenant arrives during the summer (we walked into what felt like over 100 degrees when we arrived late at night and it took a few hours to finally cool the house down). Otherwise, the place was just right for our summer visit to the area. Thanks Sue!
Comfortable and secluded house on a lovely property. My husband and I, plus my two adult sons stayed in this property for 4 days while attending graduation events at UC Davis. The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with dishes for eating and cooking - enough that we were able to host a small graduation dinner for 10 people. We had two bicycles with us, and found the cycling on the rural roads to be excellent. An easy 10 minute drive brought us right to the university and downtown Davis. The only thing lacking (as noted in a previous review) were toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels, and laundry soap.
My husband and I and our golden retriever enjoyed our stay at this fun ranch. We were expecting two more guests, but we enjoyed the quiet, relaxed setting and excellent location. The surroundings are so beautiful with the horses, chickens, vegetable gardens and fruit trees but so close to Davis and Vacaville. We were thrilled to get fresh vegetables delivered to our door. The only small down side was no paper towels, kleenex, clothes detergent (they were delivered near the end of our stay). We will definitely consider another stay at this fun location.
We enjoy our stay in this lovely house in lovely farm for a week we found every thing as it's suppose to be even when need any thing next door Jenny was supper bringing all what's we need.
we wish we could to extend our stay, but sure we will come back again.
We stayed here for 5 days over Thanksgiving while visiting family in the area (Davis & Dixon). The house was very comfortable - clean, cozy, and had all the basics covered. The property is wonderful. Our daughter (a toddler) loved visiting the horses and chickens every morning, and picking oranges from the bountiful trees. Though the location is out of Davis proper, it's also extremely close - only took us about 10 minutes to reach friends in Stonegate. And another 5 to get our fix of the always wonderful Dos Coyotes. Highly recommended, especially for families. We will return!
