Rue Marcadet is in a residential area of Paris, so the when staying in the apartment it is possible to enjoy the authentic Parisian way of life. Just around the corner on rue Damremont are many fine shops selling French breads & pastries, cheeses, wines, chocolate & coffees. And yet, hop on the 95 bus, and in 15 minutes you are at Les Grandes Magasins or L'Opera, or stay on the bus and having passed through the Louvre you reach the Left Bank. The Best of Both Worlds!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Paula is wonderful to interact with. She's highly professional and easy to communicate with. We were impressed with the book she provided offering everything from maps to restaurant recommendations. The apartment was clean and cozy, just right for our family. We'd happily return!
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment in the 18th very much. Paula, who manages this property is very responsive from the first email to the last phone call or text. She has thought of everything in the written materials and the orientation on check-in day. The apartment is very clean and the appliances all were in good working order. I am a light sleeper and I heard NO noises at night, which is a huge plus for me. The neighborhood is fantastic. The Guy Moquet metro stop is a few blocks away and the 95 bus stop is less than a block away. Le Brio on the corner is a great place for coffee, wine, or a meal. The staff are friendly and will make you feel at home immediately. There are numerous shops for bread, cheese, produce, etc. within easy walking distance.
The entire rental and arrival process was made very easy for us, and the agent (Paula) even assisted in helping us make additional arrangements for our time in Paris. The apartment was perfect for two people. It could accommodate an additional person, or perhaps children by utilizing the living room sofa, but it had one bedroom and one bathroom. It was very clean and secure, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. It was close to grocery stores, specialty food shops (meat shop, bakery), and restaurants, and a short walk to the Metro station. This is a great spot, especially if you want to get a little off the beaten path and see a different side of Paris during your stay.
This is my second time renting this apartment and I loved it just as much as my first visit last year. The apartment is clean, safe, and perfect for a real Parisian vacation. When you are there take advantage of the bakery across the street, the nearby grocery stores, the convenient public transportation and the restaurants close by. Paula's guidebook tells you everything you need to know about the area. By the time you leave you will be planning your next trip back! This is a gem of an apartment!
We've stayed in several apartments in this price bracket in Paris but this one was the cleanest and quietest. Also the classiest. The woman who greets you downstairs is friendly and is great at keeping a safe feeling around the hallways. The lush red carpets, and the quaint 2 person elevator that works beautifully all adds to the charm. The actual apartment is very comfortable for two couples. With the sliding door that separated the living room space from the rest of the apartment it was like getting a two bedroom for the price of one. It was a little awkward but do-able if your budget cannot afford a two bedroom. The kitchen was a dream kitchen to work in. The big window in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and livingroom allowed lots of daylight and fresh air in. At night in the living room, we slept with the window slightly open and there was minimal noise considering we were in the middle of Paris. Our taxi driver told us too, this is a quiet family neighborhood. The subway was a 2-3 block walk away. There were two bakeries within a couple of blocks. It was easy to get around from this home base. Living is easy and comfortable from this apartment. The extra supplies in the kitchen, and all the cleaning supplies you could need, towels and extra pillows and blankets were all bonuses. Big closets allowed our stuff to be put away without feeling lke you were living out of a suitcase. Would stay again no problem.
Neighborhood park just across the street - Square Carpeaux - great for kids, families, or just relaxing!
