About Gary Mohilner
Hi, we're Gary and Arlene Mohilner, a retired engineer and teacher, respectively. We love this home and have paid attention to every detail to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. If you have any questions or needs, whether before, during, or after your stay, we are personally available for you.
Gary Mohilner purchased this Chalet in 1992
Why Gary Mohilner chose Incline Village
We fell in love with the charm, location and beautiful surroundings of Incline Village, and only fell deeper when we discovered this Swiss-style mountain community (still within minutes of the lake).
What makes this Chalet unique
Where to begin... We can pop over to Diamond Peak and ski whenever we like. We can run down to the Hyatt for dinner, shows and gambling. We have access to a large, fairly new private Recreation Center, where we use the frequent the gym and pool. We also have access to a lakeside pool and two beaches that are only accessible to Incline residents (and renters). We have easy access to some of the most beautiful locations around the lake, and getting to Truckee, Reno and Carson City is easy when we need to. There are many other benefits, depending on your interests and preferences. Just ask us and I'm sure we can help point the way.

Comfortable and Quiet....but....
The outside of this rental needs serious renovating. Seriously. I know that the snow storms caused a lot of damage, but I would not stay here again unless the stairs and decks are repaired. The stairs are treacherous. Look carefully at the outside pictures before renting this place. I would not bring small children (my kids are a bit older) or anyone who may not be able to climb stairs. Super rickety. And as far as coming down behind the house? Forget that. The neighbor is a jerk and that's steep and slippery from pine needles. The outside area needs some attention. The yard, the deck area, those stairs, paint, a fallen lamppost, random junk... I understand there is a maintainence person, ummmm, I don't think he's been there in awhile. The good news: the inside is nice and comfortable. Very quiet, too. The place has all the creature comforts you will need but things need to be replaced, e.g., batteries in the remotes for the TVs; more towels; oven mitts.... also, if you plan on going to the Incline Beaches, which are awesome and pretty much the only reason we stay in Incline, make sure the beach passes are loaded so you can get in; the beaches are private and you need those passes. We got shafted the first day because the cards had nothing on them, we had to go to the rec center to have the cards re-loaded and needed to contact the owner (only the property owner can deal with Incline Beach Rec Center, not the maintainence person). I think this place might work with a couple of couples, it would make it cheaper and would be more appropriate. But like I said, those stairs need to be fixed before anyone rents this place. My opinion. PS. If you ski, this place would be great because it's right across from Diamond Peak.
I regret the renters disappointment, but we had a particularly harsh Winter and while I've previously sent money to my maintenance man, the house has been rented heavily and he's not yet gotten all the planned work done. It will be done prior to the ski season.
It is my intent to keep the house well supplied. We will restock it on our next trip there which should be this Fall.
I believe renters generally find the house to be well equipped, but I agree the exterior needs work, and it's been paid for, we just need the time to do it. If you look at the photos of the house, it's clear that we have substantial stairs and I do ask renters not to park on the street behind as I know the neighbor's don't like it.
All renters are given the name of our maintenance man, and phone numbers where he can be reached. He has my permission to fulfill any reasonable requests from renters without notifying me. I encourage renters to check out the house completely, on more than one occasion they've failed to see a storage area in the bathroom that's loaded with extra towels, washcloths, etc. Much the same is true in our kitchen as small items are suggested by renters which could have been found in the revolving storage in the kitchen corner had they looked.
Rocky start, but ended up being just fine.
Our stay started off a bit Rocky. There was a mix-up with the date, so house was not clean upon arrival. Also weather had caused a downed tree limb which left shattered glass from a broken table and damaged lower deck rail. Needless to say, it was a disappointing arrival but cleaners came promptly, and took roughly 2 hours to clean property. During which, upstairs sheets were not cleaned/replaced- which wasn't a huge deal because there was a spare set in closet. Kitchen sink fosset was broken during cleaning process, and was not replaced for 2 days, so we were not able to use the kitchen sink for a bit. We were promised replacement next day and waited for repair man, only to have to call/text several times to get him out on the 3rd day. Other than our first few days, we honestly had a great stay. Cabin is well equipped and very nice for a family stay. Took a bit to figure out the Jetted tub ( ended up having to reset the power ) But once it gets going, it is well worth it. Stairs and deck seem a bit sketchy at first with the handrail being a bit shaky. Gary took care of our concerns and was quick to respond to our many issues, which was much appreciated. Outside of our seemingly isolated incident, a fine place to stay.
Great space - atypical snow conditions
The house is cute and clean. With just two the space was more than we needed. Two couples would be comfortable. More than that would be a bit crowded unless you are very good friends as the two bunk beds are kind of out in the open on the loft. Kids in the bunk beds would be exposed to noise from the living area below. The kitchen is nice quality and pots and pans were all in good shape which is important as we like to stay in and cook after skiing. The bathrooms are modern and clean and spa like. The location is very convenient to Diamond which is just down the hill. Also within an easy drive to Northstar. The incredible and unusual amount of snow made for a difficult parking experience and getting into and out of the house. The roads were not plowed well but, that seemed to be a problem throughout Tahoe due to recent dump of 6-7 feet of snow. The house has some pretty steep stairs leading up to the front door from the street and these were coated in drifted snow when we arrived at night making it very difficult to get up to the house without slipping and falling. Our senior dog who has hip problems had to be assisted up the stairs. Once we called and had someone come out and shovel the stairs it was much easier but I think the stairs would still be difficult for the elderly or going up and down with really small children. We also had parking problems due to the snow. There was no cut-out plowed at the house and we had to park two houses down causing some friction with some local neighbors. We also could not get the jacuzzi bath tub to work as it kept giving an error message when we tried to turn it on despite filling the water up (per instructions) as far as we could without it sloshing over.
Really could not assess the decks or the view as the snow was piled up on the decks and in some spots blocking the windows. Made for great ski conditions though!!
Wonderful Place to stay, really recommend it
We truly enjoyed staying at this wonderful & cozy Lake Tahoe cabin located in the hills of Tyrolean Village. It is only about a 1/2 a mile or so from Diamond Peak and close to town. The home is very well maintained and quite comfortable for 2 families. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a large fireplace & TVs in each of the bedrooms - a large one down in the family room. We loved the 2-person jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bathroom, what a treat! Great shower downstairs too!. Be careful & use the railing as the staircase up to the entrance is pretty long. Easy parking & the roads are well-plowed. The owners were very kind, responsive & provided great customer service. It was a busy time for their local care takers which caused some delays in receiving some cabin essentials (towels) but in the end everything was sorted out. We would love to stay again & will definitely recommend this cabin to our friends &/or family interested in staying in the area.
Very comfortable stay and close to ski
Overall the place is very friendly and convenient to ski, food, and shopping. The house is very clean however I wish the house is a little better equipped for cooking. Other than that, I will say this is a very good choice if you are skiing near Diamond Peak.
Spacious, picturesque and clean!
We stayed here, two couples for a 3 day weekend getaway and this spot was amazing! The house was hillside and had great view to the mountains. It was very clean and well equipped with all you could want and more including espresso machine, waffle maker, and full kitchen cookware. We loved the spacious living room and fireplace to cozy up to late night. And we loved that there were two separate bedroom areas, one upstairs and one downstairs with their own individual bathrooms. In addition this place is a few minute drive to Diamond Peak so easy access to slopes, as well as being close to the quaint town of incline village. We certainly would stay here again and recommend it to others!
Close to casinos (Regency Hyatt Hotel & Casino nearby), access to 2 private beaches, lakeside swimming pool
