The Owner purchased this townhome in 1994
This is a spacious and comfortable second home with ambiance, spectacular views, 4 season outdoor adventure, and a perfect location. It is away from all the buildings in the core, yet easy walking distance to ski lifts, the free gondola, restaurants and pubs, shops, and various festivals. We have enjoyed many family reunions and both of our daughters were married here. Surrounded by 14,000 ft mountains, this is like being in the Swiss Alps!
As an end unit, there are large windows and beautiful views on 3 sides. With a southern exposure, you can enjoy the warm southwestern sun in the middle of winter. With a private garage, there is easy access: just open the door and you are home. With a large unit (2600 sq ft), there is plenty of space and privacy for everyone and one entire floor which combines the kitchen, dining room, and living room where all can gather for dining and socializing. The location on the cul-de-sac is quiet and private yet close to activities in town. And don't forget ski-in/out. See our website for more information and pictures.
We stay here every year for the Telluride Film Festival (so no, you cannot book it then, please!) and are always in awe of what a great place it is. It's only a five minute walk to the gondola into town, and close to many restaurants, shops and coffee houses. The floor plan is expansive, and allows for people to not only have their own space but also come together in uncrowded common areas. The kitchen (I cook a lot) has good appliances, knives and tools. And the entire place is super quiet--even though it's close to everything. Only drawback: backing out of the garage and driveway is very tricky--don't let the kids try it!
This was simply an outstanding place for our family ski vacation at Telluride. The property was immaculate when we arrived and the four-story floor plan was perfect for my wife and me and our three kids. It is wonderfully close to the lifts and the base area - as well as to the free gondola to downtown Telluride. It's bright, wonderfully furnished and incredibly user-friendly. We loved being able to look out on the San Juan mountains. The owner was great to work with and provided every bit of information we needed - down to when and where to pay attention to the speed limits on the drive from Montrose!! The week we spent here was one of the best getaways our family has ever had. Would come back again in a heartbeat!
This was the perfect spot for our family to explore Telluride. You can't find a better location for anywhere close to the price. It gives you the ideal combination - a quiet place to sleep with views of multiple mountain ranges through the aspens and proximity to all that Telluride offers without being jammed in a dated home in the town or surrounded by people in the Mountain Village. You're only 100 yards away from the Village, but the tranquility of the unit makes you feel much further removed. The gondola to the town and mountain top is only about 200 yards away so everything is right there for you.
We were able to hike all the hikes we wanted without getting in our car. The grocery/liquor store was a quick walk or gondola and all Telluride's charm & restaurants were an easy gondola ride (the kids loved the gondola).
The unit breaks up perfectfully for families, too. You can nap kids on different schedules and have quiet while also having plenty of space to enjoy time with friends and other adults. The layout is wonderful, comfortable and clean and the amenities were all top notch. The owner was very responsive as well.
We'd highly recommend and look forward to returning.
From beginning to end, a great experience. The owner was informative, personable and responsive in all communications relating to our stay. The home is set in a beautiful location, minutes from the downtown Gondola, in a quiet cul-de-sac. As well as families, the layout is great for friends / couples sharing, with each bedroom on it's own floor so you have your privacy. The views are spectacular and there are multiple trails accessible from the property. We are booking this property next year and would recommend it to anyone looking for a summer retreat.
I can't say enough positive things about the location. I stayed here during a busy weekend with both friends and family and the space/layout of the home was perfect. Plenty of space filled with lots of cozy spots for everyone to hang out in. Each floor was complimented with a bathroom and gorgeous view of the Telluride Mountain. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking to have a sublime spot to share with their family for a Telluride holiday. I can't wait to go back!
I would highly recommend the townhome. My family of 4 loved it and we had a great Spring Break ski trip. The location was perfect -- extremely close to the village, but not on top of it. We had a very easy and short walk to and from the slopes and could get to the gondola for trips to the town. We have been to Telluride a handful of times and prefer to stay in Mountain Village, primarily because most of the family are blue skiers and skiing down to the town late in the day is tough for a couple of us. I was a little leery about the location of the townhome because I couldn't tell from the maps exactly where it was located. You should not be concerned. It's in the Aspen Ridge complex, which is right next to the location where the Meadows run goes under the road, right at the beginning of the run. It's very convenient. The townhome is on the side of Aspen Ridge away from the Meadows run, but it was not a problem at all. As for the layout of the townhome, our two kids (a teenager and a pre-teen) each had their own room and space to stretch out, and all of us had our a room on different floors. The appliances and amenities in the townhome were top-notch. A minor glitch upon our arrival with the lockbox code was remedied with a quick phone call and everything was smooth sailing for the rest of the week. It was hard to leave to head home at the end of our week. The townhome will be at the top of our list for our next trip to Telluride.
Enjoy skiing, mountain climbing, music festivals, walk to tennis courts or an 18 hole golf course. Telluride is a 4 season vacation wonderland at 9,500 ft. surrounded by 14,000 ft mountains. High alpine wilderness adventures range from gentle nature walks through fields of wild flowers to serious mountain climbing. Excellent fishing, camping, horseback riding, and nature photography. For more excitement, try hang gliding, parasailing, glider rides, white water rafting, mountain biking, helicopter skiing, or hundreds of miles of 4 wheel off-road exploration. Enjoy all the festivals and cultural events throughout the year. It is a 3 minute walk to a children's play ground, skating rink, or rock climbing wall. Or walk to the Peaks Spa and relax in their whirlpools, saunas, and Roman baths, and take one of their many spa/massage treatments. (Actually you can enjoy a sauna, jacuzzi or steam bath right in the unit.) There are 16 national parks and 46 national monuments within a one day drive. It is an easy drive to Mesa Verde National Park, Black Canyon National Park, various hot springs, historic Durango, Silverton, Ouray, and the 4 corners area. It is a one day drive to Santa Fe, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, or Sedona. The historic town of Telluride is well-preserved and has a fabelled history. Did you know it was the first city in the world to be illuminated with electric lights? There are no traffic lights, no fast food chains, and no interstate highways for hundreds of miles. It has the highest airport in North America and the highest waterfall in Colorado.
