Perfect for us

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights for a ski weekend and would echo all of the other positive comments here about the Cozy Cabin. Owner is very communicative and helpful. Location is ideal if skiing at Beech. Condo is probably 40 years old but not run down. I think the stove, counters, cabinets, and bathroom fixtures are original, but everything is in great working order and, in our opinion, sorta adds to the charm and nostalgia of the place. Love the remote control gas fireplace, the wood paneling and mountain cabin decor, and DirecTV and good internet. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Only one drawback

  • 4 of 5

The condo is perfectly located. It is right across the street from the ski parking lot. So, a short walk across the parking lot and you are buying lift tickets. All of the restaurants, shops, ice skating rink, tubing, etc. are so easily accessible and very short walk. Even better than slopeside. The condo is well equipped; kitchen has spices, oils, dishwashing liquid, etc), the cabin is older but it has a cute cabin type feel and I found it very clean. The mattresses are quite comfortable and the bedding is nice. The views are amazing since it is on the 3rd floor (no elevator, but wasn’t a problem for us). The only drawback is that two of the windows were incapable of locking. These windows are on the front porch & someone could crawl through them with ease. The lack of security seriously effected my ability to sleep for three nights which was a bummer. The owner said the HOA will be replacing the windows soon, but security is an issue until then if that is important to you. I am sure it is a very safe area, but locked doors & windows are a must for me.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the compliments and sharing your concerns. To clarify, I was able to communicate about her concerns during the stay and assured her that after renting for ten years, I knew for sure she was in a safe spot. I am so sorry she was not able to sleep well and have requested the locks be changed before the arrival of my next guest.

The condo was easy to find and well accommodated. Walking distance to Beech Mtn Resort. Great views.

We had a wonderful time at the condo. The condo was warm and cozy. The fireplace made for a nice cabin feel. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make meals. Janet texted in advance that the weather was changing to stop for groceries before we got there. And direction to the local Lowes Food. And boy did the weather change. It snowed and ended up being in the single digits most of our 5 days there. While it was beautiful. It was too cold to,spend much more than an hour or so outside. I have to say we did not mind staying inside. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us and our dog. There is an area to walk your dog and dispose of waste. The view of the back deck was very pretty covered in snow. We watched a family of deer travel up and down the woods several times a day. There is also a little stream that runs through. It was so cold it was mostly frozen over. Pretty cool looking. We walk to the ski resort to snow tube one day. And another to hang out and watch some people ski and snowboard. We drove into Elk Banner for dinner one night. No problems even with the weather. We stopped at Fred's Merchantile. They have anything you need or want. One of everything! The whole experience was wonderful. A winter wonderland. I imagine that other seasons stayed here would be just as lovely. Thank you Janet

Exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

"Cozy Cabin" was amazing. Location was excellent and it truly felt like we were staying in a cabin. My family easily came and went from the Ski Resort and Village. The homeowner was great to work with and had everything we needed in the condo. Loved the decor as well! The deer were there to greet us as we arrived which was really neat too.
