Would Not Rent Again
We stayed at this house for a week at Easter and were surprised when we arrived to find it is up for sale. We were asked twice during our stay to accommodate showings, which we agreed to. The gazebo canopy was missing, and water and some lights at the dock didn't work. We called Eddy about the issues but they were never rectified, we were told the canopy ripped recently and were not offered any other options. The house is in need of a deep cleaning, has limited cookware stocked in the kitchen, the garbage disposal has a very large leak, and only six bath towels available.
We also had problems with receiving contracts and our security deposit timely. After we sent in our full payment plus security deposit, we needed to call Eddy to send the contract and were informed that our paperwork wasn't processed correctly. Two weeks before our trip Eddy requested we send him a copy of the signed check because he couldn't determine what he did with it. We were not refunded our security deposit within two weeks as indicated in the contract and again had to call Eddy. We finally received it after an additional two weeks.
We considered extending our stay an additional night until Eddy wanted the full price deposited to his bank by the next day, no consideration was given to the issues he did not address or us agreeing to allow showings during our stay. I would definitely not rent this house again
I take all my reviews very seriously as I maintain my home to the highest standards and treat every one of my guests as I would like to be treated as it shows on all of my past reviews. It is very clear that this person chose to write this review with the sole purpose of being damaging to my 5 star status of my home. It is obvious that this guest decided to do this for the simple reason that he wanted to stay an extra night for FREE, as he states in his last sentence. The various issues he is claiming are without warrant. My house is immaculate as I am a clean freak as well as my housekeeper COMPLETELY UNWARRANTED!! I told him ahead of time the gazebo topped had ripped during a storm and a new one was on order (windstorms do happen in the Florida Keys). The dock lights he refers to were bulbs that burned out and were replaced. One of the THREE water spickets in the backyard was not working and has been replaced The kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary to enjoy home cooked meals. There is no leaking disposal as he states. His claim of requesting a contract after he made payment is ridiculous as the contract is what is sent to request payment and secure reservation when a guest has decided to book. The security deposit was returned in full and on time. I am guilty of requesting a copy of his check for our records as the copy I had was mistakenly attached to a different contract, At no time was this an issue of payment simply needed a copy to attach to file as I knew it was paid. I did REQUEST if I can show the home to a perspective buyer if they were ok with that. At no time was this a requirement or imposition. It was a simple question which he said it was no problem at all to show. It is disheartening to know that there are people out there childish enough to try and cloud the reputation of others simply because they did not get what they wanted (a free night). My question is simple...If the house was the wreck he claims it to be... WHY in the world would you want to stay an extra night then??? Thank you
Great place for on and off the boat!
My husband and I rented this beautiful home for 1 week with our 2 adult children and another couple for lots of diving (spear fishing) and some fishing. The place was just as described and pictured. Eddy was accessible by phone and very accommodating with a request we had, and he wanted to make sure the place was clean on arrival (which it was) and that we enjoyed our stay (which we did). The canal was wide, and we had lots of space for our 33 foot boat. There was a cleaning table for cleaning the fish, and a grill that was stocked with propane! We moved the outside furniture around to get some shade in the afternoon, and it was nice to have a short walk from the boat to the house. We'd love to come back! It's a great location!
Great Place and Area
My wife an I spent over a month at this very comfortable, clean house in a great area this past winter between the months of Jan & March 2015. We loved our time there and it is absolutly perfect for a person who wants to do some boating in the Keys, 5 min to open ocean or 5 min to the bay! We would recommend this place and area to anyone. Also Eddy (the owner) was great to work with.
Excellent Vacation Home!
We rented this house for a week in July with another family. This house was very comfortable for two families. There was plenty of room at the dock for both of our boats. Everything in the house was beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped. The house was so clean! We loved every minute! We can't wait to go back next year!
Great Fishing Destination
Very nice, well kept house and yard. Excellent central location in the Keys with close proximity to most amenities. Islamorada is definitely the place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing fishing filled holiday. There were a couple minor issues with the house during our stay, but the owner was very accommodating and made every effort to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I would recommend this property.
Wonderful Winter Retreat
We stayed in this fine home over Christmas break and had a relaxing vacation in the FL Keys. The home is beautifully appointed and feels like a luxury getaway. Located close to the supermarket and local restaurants, we were able to cook meals and enjoy them in the outdoor patio or go out to eat local cuisine. Everything was so convenient. The appliances in the house are nice and high quality, even down to the superfast Internet connection. The dock was great for launching our kayaks and even for going swimming/snorkeling. We saw plenty of pretty fish right from the dock. The owner, Eddy, is fantastic and a pleasure to work with. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
