Bungalow, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
The quintessential quiet 'Old Hawaii' plantation era experience, in a gated beachfront community, with private beach and surf break. Our Puamana bungalow (12-4) is in a perfect interior community location, close to the historic 1920's era clubhouse and across from the tennis courts, just steps from the ocean. Our quiet getaway is a two bedroom, two bathroom corner unit town home, recently completely remodeled and decorated with tropical plantation furnishings. It has an expanded, private covered lanai, as well as tile flooring throughout. We have gorgeous plantation style chairs and furniture, a bright, new 42 inch LCD LED flat screen TV, and we are away from busy roads and the front gate. The kitchen now has granite countertops and a granite bar as well as dark solid wood cabinets. The upstairs loft has fabulous bright eco flooring and the bathrooms have all new vanities and the ceiling fans and light fixtures have all been redone as well.
Our bungalow is just 50 yards from the ocean, just a short walk with your board to Puamana's secret private surf breaks. Our place is close to the 'Ocean Pool,' which literally touches the ocean, which does not exist anywhere else in Hawaii. We love to sneak out at night to swim, and look out at the ships on the ocean and enjoy the tropical night breeze. Watching the sunset from the wide plantation clubhouse verandah, with the large palm trees along our beach, out to the island of Lanai, is an experience that cannot be replicated by any hotel or resort.
We don't know of any other place in Hawaii where you can essentially leave your car behind, and walk or bike from our bungalow to a place like historic Lahaina town, wander along the harbor and shops, and then go back at night for the vibrant tropical restaurants and galleries.
More than that, our bungalow captures the best spirit of this unique private community, which is unlike any other in Hawaii. When you come through the gate, time seems to slow down and you enter a forgotten era, of a historic Hawaiian plantation with its lush, manicured grounds. There are no high rises here. People drive slowly and use bicycles. We provide a relaxing place to read your book on our spacious lanai, or saunter over to our favorite room at the 1920's era clubhouse, and just sit in the plantation library and peruse the books on its floor to ceiling bookshelves.
Our bungalow has a new king bed in the large master suite downstairs, with a private bath and large TV in the room. The upstairs loft has two twin beds on one side and a queen bed on the other, with a TV upstairs for kids or guests. We provide plentiful linens, covers, towels, and pillows. There is ample air conditioning, with all three units, placed in the living room, master suite, and the upstairs loft. The kitchen is fully appointed for even gourmet cooks, with a complete set of dishware, silverware, utensils, cookware, and even a Cuisinart. ID #41447670-01

About Natalie Moog
Natalie Moog purchased this Bungalow in 2010
Why Natalie Moog chose Lahaina
We have a family with kids. We wanted a place where they could have fun and be safe, and we didn't have to drive them around. We've been coming to Maui for ten years, and have never found a place quite like this. We don't like high rises or hotels very much, and most condo complexes seem nondescript to us. We wanted something more like a home, but with the feel of a very special resort. We were very fortunate to find a large, recently remodeled unit away from the road, in this community. It is also rare to find a freshly expanded corner unit available on this property. We wanted an easy to use bungalow which had the unique advantage of a beach and surf break within walking distance, and was also safe for our children to ride bikes around, since everyone drives slowly in Puamana. We love to ride our bikes and walk, and this place feels like more of a vacation since we don't have to drive. Lahaina being so close makes for an easy night out to dinner or galleries or the theater.
What makes this Bungalow unique
My typical day includes waking up early to go surfing, coming back to our bungalow for coffee, then riding my bike to Lahaina for the paper, and then eating breakfast at our bungalow or by the ocean. We then spend our day swimming in any of the three different pools, particularly taking our kids to the big children's pool in Puamana, and sometimes reading or walking around in Lahaina. Then we might play in the ocean in the afternoon or make dinner or get take out and walk over to the clubhouse to watch the sunset.

This is definitely the place to stay. It's quiet and gated. You don't have to fight people everywhere. You can walk out to clubhouse in your pajamas and drink your morning coffee. It's close proximity to things to do! Everything about it is wonderful!! We had a great stay.
Quiet and relaxed
Beautifully relaxed environment
Within walking distance to town
Lovely quiet ocean side pool
Perfection at Paumana.
Great location. Super close to Lahaina. The unit is clean and updated with everything you need. We went surfing every morning with the boards provided. We’ll be back next year.
exceded our expectations
Its hard to know where to begin. The surf bungalow was a perfect fit for our family of 5. This very simple but well thought out dwelling in such a beautiful gated community gave us a holiday that will forever resonate in our hearts. Whether it was the kids going out to play near the club house, while my wife and I enjoyed a blissful hour near the ocean side quite pool, or our daily activities and outings near Lahaina, this place was perfect.
Natalie was exceptionally reliable for any questions that we had and the other land owners, and guests alike, were great.
The beds were very comfortable, the dual bathrooms very handy, but the kitchen cupboards were a bit on the small side.
Nevertheless... Thank you Matt & Natalie for sharing your piece of paradise with our family. We hope to visit again!!
The Herman Family
Great place for a family!
This property was perfect for our family of 5. Our three college aged kids slept in the loft. The bungalow was spacious and well equipped. Even though there is not a view of the ocean, it's 20 yards away. There were two surf boards and our kids surfed every morning and evening. Beautiful sunsets! Great location! I'd definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed the home, the location, the subtle touches to make sure it felt homey, and the communication with the owner. It was a great stay and we would do it again as it was much nicer to have our own place than be in a resort with large amounts of people.
