Welcome to Maui and our beautiful upgraded 1 bedroom, 3rd floor condo – C307 in Kihei Alii Kai. We boast a very large Lanai with a beautiful quiet view as we are on a private road with off street parking and an elevator. Our wonderful KAM 1 beach is just a very short walk down our road, but there is also a beautiful pool, Jacuzzi, and Sauna right on property.

As of September 1, 2015 we now have our brand NEW Kitchen with soft close drawers, pull outs and Granite countertop to make your month long stay even more comfortable. Queen size bed with closet and dresser space in newly decorated and painted bedroom with a ceiling fan and floor fan. Living room has wonderful tradewinds when you open the lanai door, but there is also A/C if needed. Washer and dryer are also inside the condo. Bathroom has both a Tub and Shower for your pleasure.

Start your morning on the lanai with Maui coffee or a walk to the local bakery for a fresh cinnamon roll, or one of the several coffee shops, then off to the beautiful KAM1 beach. There are beach chairs, mats, and beach towels for your personal use. There are so many other activities on Maui, just ask and I will help you plan what to do. In the evening sit on the large lanai with a Hawaiian cocktail and watch the sunset, cook on the BBQ just steps from our condo, then head for the pool, sauna or jacuzzi and meet new friends, or head out to one of our favorite places for evening music.

Kihei Alii Kai is located on a quiet street with no through traffic. You only need to pack a swimsuit, flip flops, shorts, tank tops and a relaxing vacation attitude, the rest is at your disposal.

Big 50' HDTV, games, cards, books, DVD/IPod player and more if you choose to spend time inside. Free secure WiFi and long distance calling.

SHOPPING/COFFEE SHOP/RESTAURANTS/BEACHES/TOURS - all just a couple of blocks walking distance from the condo.

About Elaine or Don

I was raised in Oregon and made my first trip to the islands in 1967. I immediately fell in love with Maui and after many more trips knew I would one day have a 'second home' on Maui, which happened on one of my trips in 1999! My husband and I were married on the beach in front of Mama's Fish House in 2005 and come over every year to enjoy and update our condo. I manage all bookings personally and love talking to my future and especially returning guests. We have made many friends over the years and they 'welcome us home' each time we arrive. They are truly our 'second family'.

Why Elaine or Don chose South Maui

I was visiting with friends in 1999 when I started looking for condos and fell in love with C-307 at Kihei Alii Kai. While boarding the airplane to come home, I received a call that the owners accepted my offer and I was going to own 'my condo in paradise'. I have traveled to many places and the people in Hawaii are by far the warmest, most friendly, loving, people I know. We make new friends on every trip.

What makes this condo unique

We love sitting on the lanai, it is very large, nicely furnished and so quiet and peaceful with a lovely view. Since the BBQ is on the same level, we prepare some dinners in. There are many wonderful restaurants close by, and the KAM I beach is so beautiful for walking, snorkeling, and sunning and just 150 feet from the condo. In the evening we enjoy sitting in the Jacuzzi meeting new friends.

We had a great time in Maui (after Hope's first day of "I never burn Grandpa" sunburn quit hurting her). We both loved the condo and everything that went with it. I hope to visit Maui again in the near future and staying at the same place would work well with me. I'm sure that after our visit everything was left in as excellent condition as we found it and that my deposit will be refunded as soon as you get the word from the care takers of the property assuring you the same. You have shared with myself and my granddaughter a piece of your paradise, we are grateful and will never forget our wonderful vacation! Thanks!

Just a couple blocks from incredible beaches!

I just wanted to say my wife and I had a fantastic time in Kihei celebrating our 19th anniversary. We loved your beautiful Condo and had a nice relaxing time. The condo had everything we needed...even snorkel gear and beach chairs. The trade winds were really nice, with the slider opening up to the balcony...it was great for breakfast each morning. The little birds would sing to us! :) Best beach was just blocks away...Kam 1. Since it was our 19th anniversary, we took a helicopter ride on Blue Hawaiian. Awesome.

We would love to stay at your place again some day...it was perfect!

Poor Experience / Poor Business Practices

Let me first communicate that I have been coming to Maui 5-7 times a year for the past five years and have never had such a frustrating experience. However, the owner was not helpful during my stay and clearly doesn't have a stong business ethic. For starters the first time I spoke with Elaine she told me I could save VRBO processing fees if I paid her directly. I had made the reservation for the next day, and I don't think she understood this, so she redacted the offer since there was not enough time to mail her the payment. I don't think it is very honorable to bring up the option of paying less by avoiding the VRBO payment site if she was only going to remove the offer upon closer examination. This type of business practice does not follow best business practices at best and is very unethical at worse.

Upon check-in I soon discovered that the wifi was not working and the network name given in the framed instructions did not show up at all in the listed wifi networks. I promptly communicated this to the owners who instructed me to call their service provider to fix it. I explained that I was on business/vacation and did not have time to fix their internet issues. After three days without the internet, I realized that they did not intend to remedy the situation. I proceeded to spend 2 hours on the phone with their provider only to discover that the internet network and password had been updated many months before my arrival yet there was no mention of this in any of the guest paperwork, the condo framed instructions or in the lease contract. Upon getting the summary of my findings, the owners predictably blamed past guests for changes to their network name and password and not notifying them of the changes, but more importantly, this was all information that the owners could have acquired on their time rather than at my time and expense!

I own two business and understand first hand the pitfalls given that we have 50 employees and are responsible for the customer support on a daily basis. However, Elaine and Don withheld merchant processing fees out of my security deposit. I was not notified nor did I agree to these charges. Like any other business owner, there are hundreds of expenses that factor into the cost of the services I provide to my clients. THAT IS THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS! Never before has any other business owners in Hawaii withheld merchant services fees from my security deposit.

Fantastic Stay

We have been coming to Kihei Alii Kai for many years. This is the first time we were able to rent this specific unit. The condo was well equipped with every thing we could need. We loved the proximity to the BBQ`s and the easy walk to the beach. My 4 year old son really enjoyed the fish and aquatic decor along with the many beach toys which were there for our use. The complex is well situated within walking distance to great amenities, restaurants and beaches. I would recommend this unit as well as this complex to anyone looking for a fantastic family vacation in beautiful Maui. Thanks again!

Great stay

The condo was lovely and much larger than expected. The large covered lanai was perfect for our two little kids to play in. It also provided a nice breeze and we didn't have to turn the air conditioning on at any point during There were 2 large new BBQs right on the same floor which made dinner easy.

Wonderful vacation!!!

Hello Elaine and Don - just arrived home to-day and wanted to comment on your condo. Excellent!! You made the rental process so very easy and answered all my questions promptly. We came to Maui so my son could run in the Maui marathon in Lahaina. The condo was very clean, well kept and the newly remodeled kitchen is great. Loved the icemaker in the fridge, the dishwasher and the washer and dryer were great perks. The lanai is huge and the condo's location is perfect - easy access to the beach and the local eateries were good. Highly recommend Fat Daddy's Smokehouse and the Paia Fish Market. The calamari at the Fish market is the best I have ever eaten and the ribs at Fat Daddy's were excellent. We enjoyed your condo and the only time we turned on the air conditioner was when we arrived. Didn't need it on for long and never turned it on again. Maui sandy beaches are truly spectacular and I can see why the surfers love Maui. We rented our car from Kihei rentals and enjoyed driving around the island - Lahaina is a great town to visit too. Again, thank you so much for sharing your 'home away from home' with us, it was perfect for our 2 week stay.

Kihei is located in the chosen area of fine restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, evening entertainment, plus 150 feet from one of the “top rated worlds finest white sand beaches in Hawaii”. A 10 minute drive South takes you to Wailea where there are “world class” shops such as Tommy Bahamas, restaurants include Cheeseburger in Paradise, Ruth Criss Steak House, one of our favorites for entertainment is Mulligan's on the Blue, and many art galleries with original Artists on site. Continuing on are fabulous snorkeling, ocean kayaking and mega beaches to die for. The 'crowded resorts' of Lahaina, Kaanapali and Kapalua are a 45 minute drive North or there is a metro bus that will take you there. The Majestic Haleakala is a 2 hour drive or you can stop in the quaint little town of Paia on your way to Hana, where there are black sand beaches, water caves, bamboo forests, numerous waterfalls, all ending at the 7 Sacred Pools where you can take a dip before starting your trek back to the condo. So much to do, so little time

Notes:
New 50' HD TV and CD/DVD player. Nice Hawaiian decor. VERY quiet street, sit on Lanai with coffee or your laptop using the free WiFi. Condo kitchen is fully equipped for preparing gourmet entrees, if you chose. Refrigerator has ice maker and there is a blender for your Hawaiian cocktails. There is also a gas BBQ available 25 feet from the front door of the condo and another one by the pool. Check the cupboards for leftover spices, etc. before shopping. Elevator within 10 feet of parking. The tradewinds keep the condo nice and cool, but there is an exceptional air conditioner if needed.
