About Jan Soderquist

My husband, Gareth, and I purchased this property in November of 2009 and have just finished remodeling the inside, so most of the furnishings (including beds and mattresses) are brand new. Gareth and I are both photographers and have lived in Naples for ten years. In fact...we live right next door, with our little Havanese dog, Lily!

Jan Soderquist purchased this bungalow in 2009

Why Jan Soderquist chose Vanderbilt Beach

We love Naples Park! It's a fabulous easy and quick walk to the beach and Wiggin's State Park. Surrounded by great restaurants, it's only a five minute drive to Mercato, an upscale shopping and dining area which includes a brand new Whole Foods. Just as close, is the lovely resort La Playa, and the Ritz Carlton, rated among the most beautiful in the world. For those people who love golf and tennis, there are loads of options. Naples Park is also very close to I-75, making it very convenient to Southwest International Airport in Ft. Myers.

What makes this bungalow unique

My husband and I enjoy a very active and healthy lifestyle and chose to live in Naples because of it's beauty, fantastic weather, and friendly community. Regardless of your interests, there is something here for everyone! Wiggin's State Park is less than a mile from the property, so it's a lovely walk or bike ride to one of the most beautiful beaches in southwest Florida. If you prefer to have a quiet day next to the pool, the spacious and completely private patio/pool area will afford you the relaxation you're looking for. With an outdoor kitchen and huge sitting and lounging area under roof, the adjoining large pool gets full sun throughout the day for swimming and sunbathing.Totally surrounded by Areca palms for maximum privacy, it is where most of our guests spend much of their time.

Great Location at all

  • 5 of 5

Our experience in Jan's house was wonderful, and even more for our kids who spent tons of time in the swimming-pool. The house is clean. No problem at all. The lanai is great. The BBQ too !

The neighborhood is very quiet and great, kind of tropical ambiance, and facilities are everywhere : Publix and Starbuck 2mn by car, Whole Food and Trader's Joe at equal distance...and of course, great beaches just around.

I warmly recommend but, please, let us still any availability in the future !!!!!!

fantastic locationand superb layout

  • 5 of 5

My experience at the cozy bungalow was like going to a tropical oasis. A full kitchen to cook any type of meal you desired. The master bedroom had its own private bathroom.A second bathroom was right next to the other bedroom. As you stepped out of either bedroom you entered the lanai with comfy chairs, refrigerator, and grill.A few steps more put you in a very inviting warm pool. You could also lay in the sun or relax in the quiet, peaceful lanai.Jan Soderquist was very helpful with any request that you might have. Major attractions a short distance from the house.I intend to come back !

Great House; Great Location in Naples

  • 5 of 5

The house is EXACTLY as the video shows on the VBRO site right down to the two wine glasses and a welcome bottle of wine, so we were totally satisfied! The cozy bungalow was perfect for our 2 week Christmas holiday in Naples with our two little dogs! Lots of space to spread out for the two of us. Jan and Gareth (and Lily) were perfect hosts. Very welcoming and had everything ready when we arrived. We appreciated that Jan had been in touch with us beforehand about our arrival time as we were hoping to check in early to get the dogs settled before dinner time. The welcome mat clearly showed this would be a doggie friendly environment and the roll of poo bags inside the front door reinforced that first impression! The lanai is super relaxing and private and the entire pool area was is the highlight of this house. We asked for it to be heated expecting colder weather (in Dec); as it turned out the weather was exceptionally warm this year, but we were glad we decided to heat the pool as it was fabulous for both late night as well as early AM dips. Jan and Gareth include some great restaurant recommendations in the welcome folder and we sampled many of them which are all close by this perfect location in Naples! Day trips to Sanibel and Marco Island were easy to do excursions. If you are in Naples pre-Christmas, check out the Holiday flotilla at Venetian Village! What a treat! We will definitely return to Naples and to Jan and Gareth's cozy bungalow! Thanks !

Wonderful Home in A Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

I cannot speak highly enough about this beautiful home in Naples it is decorated to a very high standard and is in a quite and secluded neighbourhood, the owners Jan and Gareth and their gorgeous dog Lily are so very kind and helpful with pointing out all the local attractions and eateries near by. Myself and my husband were very sad to leave after two weeks of being spoiled. I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone, Naples is beautiful but also with the Everglades being in close proximity it is easy to get close to nature, the beaches are marvellous particularly Delnor Wiggins State Park which is a few minutes away. I can honestly say this is the ideal place if you want to discover Southern Florida.

quiet but fun first intoduction to Naples

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself and our two standard poodles were delighted and enchanted with this quiet but friendly real neighborhood with working families and retired couples in a safe and friendly neighborhood in North Naples. The charming bungelow reflects the thoughtful taste of artist/owners/neighbors Jan and Gareth. Their home to the south is discretely separated by privacy fence and tasteful landscaping. There is a lovely douple lot to the north filled with wild flowers The kitchen is well stocked with many extras to make dining-in a pleasure. We loved the private pool and patio especially. We hope to lease for Jan and Feb 2017 as Jan and Feb 2016 were alreadly promised.

Fantastic first visit to Naples

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in the bungalow. It was so relaxed and comfortable that we extended our stay from 7 to 10 days thanks to Jan and Gareth. The outside patio area was our favourite place in the evenings where we could relax with a BBQ and a few drinks. The overall quality of the bungalow exceeded our expectations and we hope to return sometime in 2015. Poor Jan was housebound with a broken leg during our stay so we did not get to meet her but Gareth proved an excellent host. Thanks again for a great holiday.
