Review on Trek to the Stars

  • 2 of 5

The location of this rental was great. Very close to village and lake and ski slopes and it had really nice views. It was very clean. However, as soon as we opened the door my husband and I were disappointed. The musty smell was quite overwhelming - like a hoarder's house. All the appliances and light fixtures were very old - probably from the 70's and it was incredibly dim in the cabin. One of my draws to the property was a hot tub on the deck with views. The hot tub only had half the jets working and the lights in it did not work. There was no lighting outside where the hot tub was so we were sitting in complete darkness in the hot tub. The table on the deck was so rickety and frail that we could not sit and eat at it properly. The master bedroom bed was so squeaky that I could hear my husband's every move all night and therefore did not sleep well. This property needs some serious TLC and would then be absolutely fabulous! Overall was not happy at all unfortunately. We had a great time on a pontoon at the Big Bear Marina (pretty good prices compared to the other boat rental places) and we had an amazing time hiking the Castle Rock trail - highly recommend both activities!
