House, Studio + Loft + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Located in Bosque Farms, NM (a quick and easy 20 minutes south of Albuquerque) this 2200 square foot adobe building is filled with New Mexico charm. The large, two story building with its high ceilings and seamless backdrop is often used as a photographer's studio, performance space, mini film stage or just a place to party and relax. The setting is rural/rustic yet close to amenities.

The sleeping area in the studio is in the upstairs loft accessed by a spiral staircase and unfortunately is not handicapped accessible. (The loft may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers as well) There is a comfortable king bed, leather couch and TV viewing/sitting area upstairs. A twin bed and a double 'day bed' are in the great room on the ground floor along with plenty of desk area to spread out on in the office area. A folding crib and high chair are available as well. The studio is designed as a large open space. Limited privacy makes the building suitable only for family or close-friend groups.

The building has an upstairs deck with a sun chairs and an umbrella. It is a suitable spot for stargazing or sunset watching. The downstairs has wrap around porches and is a great place to have happy hour or make a little BBQ.

The downstairs bathroom is fairly basic with a step in shower. (no bath) There are laundry facilities nearby in the town of Los Lunas.

It has been a filming location for numerous advertisements and film projects including 'America's Most Wanted' and the AMC TV series 'Breaking Bad'.

It is situated behind the owner's 1930's adobe 'homestead' house on a 4 acre, small, hobby farm. There are sheep, and other animals on the property. Small, friendly dogs on a leash will be considered as potential guests. Please ask first. (We have our own dogs, cats and free range chickens to consider!) Neighbors are nearby though in this 'sleeper community'.

There is a small service kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, coffee maker and toaster oven. All dishes and utensils are available for use. A highchair is available.

There are two large grocery stores as well as a several restaurant selections 10 minutes south in the town of Los Lunas. Dining options in Bosque Farms include several standard, fast-food options and 3 regional, New Mexican food choices. Numerous choices are available north 20 minutes into Albuquerque.

The drive to Albuquerque is quick and simple on Interstate 25. Just 10 minutes away there is a station for the new Rail Runner passenger train. (Please note there is no other public transportation available.) Hard Rock Casino/Spa/Concert venue is a quick 10-minute drive. You can get a massage, see a concert and loose your wages all in one beautiful spot! Isleta Pueblo -with a church dating to 1680’s- is a Native American village just 10 minutes away. The Albuquerque Airport is a quick 20 min. drive as is the University of New Mexico and countless museums and galleries. Sandia Peak Ski Area and the Sandia Tramway is within an easy 30-40 minute drive. Our town is almost exactly in the center of New Mexico and is an excellent springboard for all of your site seeing destinations throughout the state.

The community itself is a small farming town with multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation. There are miles of level, off-road cycling,(ask about loaner bikes) and easy hiking trails through the riverside cottonwood forest. (The 'Bosque'). The Rio Grande valley is an important flyway for migrating birds. November through March the area is home to large flocks of sand hill cranes and several types of geese and duck. The village has its own rodeo arena with many events, a public tennis court and playground, a small library, a paved cycling trail and numerous equestrian pathways. Horse boarding may be available nearby. There is a large, gated-access locked entry for parking large trailers or RVs.

The sleeping area in the studio is in the upstairs loft accessed by a spiral staircase and unfortunately is not handicapped accessible. (The loft may not be suitable for adventurous toddlers as well) There is a comfortable king bed, leather couch and TV viewing/sitting area. A twin bed and a double 'day bed' is in the great room on the ground floor. A folding crib and high chair are available as well.

We're certain that you will really enjoy the building and the setting. We have many repeat guests who wouldn't stay anywhere else. (Sorry- we are not able to host large parties or weddings.)

It's an awesome place and the sheep and sand hill cranes are so neat. The cranes were our alarm clocks every morning. Cyndy is an awesome hostess. We would have loved to visited with her more but we only had a short time to stay. If your going thru Bosque Farm you really need to stay at Cyndy's studio for a quiet get away. Thank you Cyndy.

Enchanting and beautiful location near the river

                                                                  Karen R.Colorado

Our family stayed for a long weekend in the height of the fall color so the few acres that surround the property were extra gorgeous. Cyndy is an excellent host. She made sure we had everything we needed including information about the surrounding area, things to do and even provided us three different methods for making coffee because we said we liked coffee so much. Our dog was treated well also; there were dog bowls out and chew treats when we arrived. Everything was exactly as advertised in the pictures online. One thing you won't see in the pictures, however, are the ample books on New Mexico, Santa Fe, and the West, including beautiful photography books. You could get lost just learning all the cool things about the area. Proximity to Albuquerque was great (maybe 20 minutes)? We also ventured south toward Tome Hill, which is a short hike with a great view at the top. There's an easy walking or bike route to the river. If you like the NM countryside drive further south to Belen and have authentic Mexican food at Pete's. Fabulous! Can't say enough good about this unique place.

                                                                  Owner's Response:

You guys really made the most of your stay! It was great to see you really digging in and exploring the area. So glad the place worked for your family. I look forward to hosting you again hopefully!

                                                                  It was everything and more!!!

Cyndy's description was spot on, the comforts were endless, the lighting was fabulous and the decor was amazing!!!

It became a bit of a joke that where ever we needed to go - Albuquerque, dinner, movies, and all the errands we had to run - were all 20 to 30 minutes away. Unlike some of the other reviewers we never heard any of the 2 and 4 legged residents although we enjoyed visiting them. Great, relaxing experience!
