This one bedroom suite is located on the quieter side of the building, with fabulous views of Blackcomb. All the convenience of the Village, with out the noise of the village stroll. The suite has a fully equipped kitchen, in-suite washer and dryer and free Wi-Fi.
Located within walking distance to the lifts, shops, restaurants, activities and nightlife. The building offers a shared hot tub for soaking after a hard day on the hill or golf course, and also a small fitness area for pre ski workouts. Ski and bike storage is available in the building and secure underground parking can be purchased for a small fee. There is a check-in and concierge desk on-site and the friendly front desk staff will be available to assist you throughout your stay.
This is a great property. We enjoyed being on Main Street and yet still able to sleep due to being on the quiet side facing the mountain. I love waking up, looking out of the bedroom window and seeing Blackcomb and Whistler. The decor and cleanliness was remarkable! Another valuable asset is the in room washer and dryer. What a relief to be able to throw are clothes into wash and dry and not worry about them. Also, having the full kitchen, really saved us money and the hassel of going out when the kids and us were too exhausted. I have already recommended this suite to my friends!
We came up for CrankWorx 2015 and had a great time. The location was fantastic to get to all the events that were taking place and close to tons of restaurants of course. The one odd thing I found was that it was asked that we wash the sheets and remake the bed and make sure the towels were washed as well. If you are expecting us to check out at 11am this is more a time constraint issue than a real nuisance as I understand that this isn't a hotel. But, I then expect there to be laundry detergent provided - which there wasn't - which then makes me question whether the sheets I slept on all weekend and the towels I dried myself with were actually clean...
I have stayed or seen 20+ condos in the Deer, Eagle and Bear lodges. This one bedroom was an average suite compared to others. Yes, it has a great view of Blackcomb, however as situated on the back of Eagle Lodge, right above the parking entrance, I would NOT consider this a "quiet" location during the summer! Garbage trucks in the morning accessing the common garbage area under the building, at night - skateboarders along the side walk and down the steep, grooved garage entrance. The owners could NOT have stayed in their unit in the summer - it was 30+ C and with the morning sun on the windows and lack of air conditioning (there is a fan), this is NOT a re-vamped unit. Re-done units put IN air conditioning! Again, a downside of these lodges is the management company that runs them due to their short term staff-no one knows the actual "rules" and they do not follow up on requests. Due to my disability and difficulty getting up, I asked for a noon checkout. The lady said no problem, she would confirm it the next day. Never heard from her-when I asked the day before check-out(Sun) we were told they had no record of the request and to call in the morning. In the morning we were told we could check out instead at 11 instead, however we had already been told that - which was a lie. The VERY BAD service came when I was unable to get into the Eagle lodge after shopping and for 6 days NOTHING was done about it. I went out the day after we arrived (Wed), on my return, I could not get back into the building. I inserted my key, green light (good), pressed the door opener (I am unable to open building doors) and doors did not open. I tried this numerous times. From inside, when I left, the door opener did work just fine. No phone to call the desk, so I went to the desk in other lodge and asked for the door to be repaired ASAP so I could get into the building where I am staying. Whistler is a VERY progressive city and is VERY accessible. I NEVER imagined that it would not be fixed for the 6 days that we stayed at Whistler - I wonder if it is even fixed now? To me, that is a fatal flaw of the management company and unfortunately looks bad on this suite, however the ability to enter the building where the suite is located is paramount to being able to stay there...I would NOT recommend this property to anyone visiting Whistler due to the noise and heat issues along with lack of maintenance from the management company.
