Occupancy: 8 comfortable shared accomodations-9 maximum! Contractor's family home built in 2007 fronting a bike path winding through Kailua Beach Park. No through traffic...we are at the end of a 7 home lane. 250 feet to the beach across the park's lawn. Quiet neighbors--we seek the same renters. Five bedrooms. Three bedrooms upstairs: master bedroom has one king bed, private bath; bedroom 2 has queen; bedroom 3 has one full bed (sleeps one). Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a full bathroom. Downstairs: bedroom 4 has a queen bed; bedroom 5 has a queen bed and private entrance to backyard. Bedrooms 4 and 5 share a full bathroom. Backyard pool has a cabana with shower and bathroom. Large lanais...one in back yard, one second floor lanai fronting the ocean view. Gated driveway parking; property completely fenced and private. Petite resident chicken remains on property. Qwner may need garage access. Historic Kalapawai Market and Deli and Buzz's Steakhouse are a 2 minute walk on the bike path. Shopping in downtown Kailua one mile away includes Macys, Longs Drugstore, Whole Foods, Starbucks, Safeway and many others. Kayak rentals one block from property. Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10 am.

Great house, great location and a great owner to rent from!
I organized a trip for a group of 9 people, including 2 families and a set of grandparents. When we got there, there was an unexpected lack of gas to heat the water, so we didn't have hot water for the first day. However, Cliff (the owner) was all over it... he had it fixed within 24 hours, and after apologizing profusely even gave us a bit of a credit back for the trouble. As we settled in and sorted out our plans for the week, Cliff was always available to answer questions, ensure we were aware of the amenities and equipment they had at or near the house. The house itself is in a fantastic location... is right on the Kaliua Beach Park, where it is a 2 min, quiet walk right over to the beach. The location also provides super easy access to downtown Kailua, and you can order instacart for grocery delivery and organize a cleaning service to come in mid week if you want to. All in all, this was a fantastic vacation, partly thanks to the great house and location, and partly due to Cliff's support and attention during our stay. I would definitely go back again!
Great Location across from Kailua Beach Park. Slept 8 comfortably.
Our family celebrated my husband's birthday by surprising him with a family reunion in Kailua. The house was great for the 8 of us. We loved the spacious rooms, the beautiful floors, the gorgeous staircase, and the gated driveway. Cliff even gave a tour of the property to my daughter who lives on the Island before we actually booked. Cliff and his wife are very accommodating. It was lovely working with them.
Being able to walk to beautiful Kailua beach was a joy and the highlight of our days. The kids loved the pool. The pool with a great sitting area/furniture and an oversized picnic table was perfect for our large group. There is also an outdoor shower and toilet area by the pool.
The house boasts beautiful floors and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Each of the 5 bedrooms have air conditioning but we only used it in one bedroom on one night; otherwise the house stayed cool. We used the washer and dryer and dishwasher regularly.
The street is relatively quiet. Cliff and his family stayed in the cottage in the back of the property while we rented the main house. They were quiet and unobtrusive. No worries there.
The driveway is gated and we parked both our cars in the driveway. The house is situated on a dead end street so there is little to no street traffic.
We gave this a 4 star because the house amenities could use some updating; mostly kitchen/bathroom/lanai items.
If you have a large party, this is the property for you!

5 Star Location and Hospitality
Home was all we expected, beautiful, and the location is amazing. Lots of room - 3 family groups, 9 people and everyone was happy. Kitchen is superb, and dining/living areas are terrific. Pool was a huge hit, even with the beach only a block away. Morning walks to Kalapawai Mkt for capuccinos is a ritual hard to leave behind! (With Island Snow shave ice just a block beyond the Market!) We felt very much at home here, especially as it was a revisit to our time at Kaneohe over 40 years ago. Owners Shawna & Cliff are delightful and their personality is reflected in the property. And, Cornelia the chicken is a treasure; adored, fed and played with by our 6, 8 and 12 year olds with help from Opal. A superb choice, which enhanced our extended family vacation and was central to an enchanting visit to lovely Hawaii. Being here for the 4th of July Kailua celebration was a special treat - parade in the afternoon and a huge fireworks show literally in your front yard was an amazing bonus. A very hearty 5 star recommendation from the Meier/Stone families. Mahalo to Shawna & Cliff!
Our 3 generations family had an amazing week at this house. The location is fabulous, and the space and layout worked perfectly for us. Our toddlers were endlessly fascinated by Cornelia the hen and couldn't wait to greet her each morning. Cliff and Shauna are terrific hosts and made us feel welcome. I can't think of any way this vacation could have been better.
Gorgeous home, beautifully maintained with everything you need
We had a wonderful vacation in this lovely home. There were six of us, three generations, and everyone had a great time. The location is perfect and our hosts were delightful. We were here over Thanksgiving and they brought over food from the local "imu" - a community pit for roasting meat. Such a treat! The beach is spectacular and a quick walk across the park but the yard and the pool are great too so we were on the lanai a lot. Cornelia the little chicken is a sweetie! We give this home and our hosts five stars!
Beautiful Large House with great views!
We arrived at the house a little earlier than check in after a long flight with kids. We were warmly greeted by Cliff's wife and daughter. The house was perfect for our needs and had plenty of room for us. This was our first trip to Hawaii and had family with us who stayed at another house close by. They come here every year and kept commenting that this house was the best they have seen in Kailua. It is a big spacious house that has great ammenities, a beautiful pool and is so close to the beach and the park. It also has AC, which may sound silly to some and I assumed it was standard because we are from New Orleans (it's a must there!) but it's not a necessity here. The kitchen is well stocked and even has two dishwashers which is helpful for large groups. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of bath towels and beach towels as well. The older boys loved using the pool everyday and just hanging out when we weren't running around. I can't say enough nice things about the house. It was perfect for our family and a great meeting spot for our extended family staying close by.
Cliff and his family stayed on the property in another house and it was nice to have them there if we had any questions. They came in and out through the side of the yard, which was very polite, but we wanted them to feel at home as well. Most importantly they are such a nice family and we appreciated their hospitality. We hope to return again one day. It was such a nice trip - even the jet lag!

17% tax is a combination of the Hawaii State General Excise Tax of 4.72% and the Transient Accommodations Tax (HI Tax I.D. No. W01315602-02) of 9.25% and 3% Paypal/VRBO transaction fee There is a $500 cleaning fee per 7 day period. Renter is responsible for the cost of additional cleaning should your stay require additional cleaning services. Check in is 4:00 PM and out time is 10:00 AM for cleaning but is somewhat flexible depending on needs. There will be a finalized VRBO contract for signature after full payment and includes a pool addendum, and a Honolulu City and County monthly rental contract encompassing the time period reserved for you over a 30 day period.(Note:this is a residential property rental requirement in Hawaii) Typically the 50% deposit and final payment once paid is not refundable, however if we find another renter to take the dates you reserved we reserve the right to refund the deposit in good faith.
