Aloha! We'd like to introduce ourselves so that you will feel even more comfortable in our Kona home - where we will eventually retire. We love Kona for the warm weather, slower pace, beautiful flowers and lots of sunshine. The Big Island is a magical place as you will see when visiting. We met in the 1970s and married in 1980 in Fontana, Calif. We have 2 children Jennifer and Christopher. For the past 25 years we have been living in Northern Nevada where we own and operate Dairy Queens. When not working or traveling, Kathy enjoys reading, working out, quilting and going to the latest movies. She is also an avid basketball fan of college and NBA. Steve has a passion for golf, running, laying out at the beach and, like Kathy, basketball. We hope you will enjoy staying at our La'oloa Vacation Home. It is filled with the spirit of the island - serenity, renewal and, of course, love. Steve & Kathy Boeche

When you think of Hawaii, you think of warmth, sand and sea. Although the Big Island (as locals call it) provides all climate zones found on the planet, we chose this warm, sunny and usually drier area for our home.
Its conveniently located to the necessities of life and the amenities of aloha!
Worked out the Cleaning with the two ladies. They were accommodating and started the other end of house while we packed and cleaned up. Unfortunately our plane didn't leave till around midnight so there was a lot of hours to kill. All worked out and we had a great stay. Had a great time and enjoyed the weather. Talk to you again.

The home and landscaping are well kept. The home is clean. Beds are comfortable. But the ductless heat pump is insufficient to keep the house below 80 degrees. Two of the bedrooms were very warm. We tried windows open in the evening to get a breeze but that doesn't work. The street is very busy as well. It was nice to have beach chairs and snorkel gear. Overall this would be four stars if the AC worked well enough. If you don't mind trying to sleep in an 80 degree house then this is a good choice. Can't believe we had to pay extra for the AC.
This was the absolutely perfect home for a family. It was close to the beach, close to the trolley, super clean, and perfect. The rooms were spacious, awesome amounts of towels and didn't worry about anything. The deck was my favorite place to chill in morning with a cup of Kona coffee. There is a BBQ, the fridge works great and laundry was wonderful to have. I can't wait for our next vacation, will stay here in a heartbeat.
Was very nice. Beaches were walkable but dining was a short drive. House was well stocked and very quiet. House can be hot in back but used fans provided and opened windows in evening and it cooled off.
Description is modern. It is not. Although well equipped kitchen & beach toys a lot of other amenities lacking. Air conditioning only in kitchen & master bedroom cannot keep 2 bedrooms in back cool no matter how many fans you run. Never enough hot water due to solar water heater for 4 adults & 2 Kids no matter what time we showered. Other people said beds were good but that must have been years ago. We purchased a foam pad after first night as we had 2 weeks to go. The 2nd bedroom was described as queen and maybe frame is but believe mattress is double as it is smaller than frame and my daughter and hubby had trouble sleeping on it because it seemed so small. The 2nd bathroom shower whistled like a tea kettle when in use. House could be a jewel but standards are just not being maintained.
Great property and great communication with the owners
It's perfect. Just be sure to pay for the extra electricity charge if you're traveling in hot months or you're menopausal like me! You will need the AC!!!
The home is close to everything! Wonderfully furnished. Comfortable beds. Clean! Perfect in every way!
