*** NOTE: Check-out our other 1 bedroom Garden Apt,. VRBO #318560 and 2 bedroom Williamsburg Apt., VRBO #344739
Please use the EMAIL OWNER button to reach us. We reply promptly. Our home is a typical row house (zoned R6B), making us exempt from NY short-term rental laws.
Subway proximity is the highest priority for New Yorkers. The L TRAIN to Manhattan and the G TRAIN to downtown Brooklyn/Queens are ONE MINUTE WALK from our home at the corner at Union/Metropolitan.
Our townhouse is perfectly situated on a quiet residential street in Brooklyn's hippest neighborhood: Williamsburg. The area is packed with great restaurants, deli's, bakeries and bars. On our block alone: Chimu, a Peruvian steak house, M Noodle, Kings County Chinese (nouveau), Setti Pane Bakery. French, Japanese, Southern BBQ, Italian all a short walk away. The neighborhood is also a magnet for young people moving to the city and an influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community.
We are 20 minutes from downtown Manhattan and to Times Square. Closer still to the West and East Village, Soho, Tribeca, Union Square and 5th Ave via the popular L TRAIN subway line: One minute from our townhouse and then a 5 minute ride into Manhattan.
This is a private apartment with a private entrance. The spacious living room is open to the kitchen & dining area so there's plenty of light and air. The rear windows both lookout into the private garden in the backyard. The front windows look onto the street and front garden.
The apartment can accommodate up to four guests: The bedroom has a queen bed which sleeps 2. There is also a queen size self-inflating AeroBed that self-inflates in 1 minute and deflates just as quickly. While this isn't a traditional mattress is extremely comfortable.
The entire apartment has new furnishings, linens and a fully-stocked kitchen. A perfect home base for your trip to New York City. Owners live on site, in a separate residence.

My partner and I both work in Manhattan and take the L Train in every day. I'm a television producer, my partner is in a Broadway musical every night, and our daughter attends high school in the city. I'm from Toledo, Ohio and my partner is from Melbourne, Australia so we have LOTS of family and friends visiting us all year round who now stay in our rental apartment and use it as their home-away-from-home. We love helping them find their way around the city and will gladly offer you a few suggestions about NYC as well.
Sean Hingston and Brad Hurtado purchased this apartment in 2010
We bought this townhouse in 2010 after living in the middle of Manhattan for 16 years and have fallen in love with our new neighborhood. Our previous neighborhood was very old-school residential with massive apartment buildings, while Williamsburg is filled with 3-story townhouses like ours where the neighbors all sit on the front steps and enjoy the street life. The huge influx of artists and young people who recently 'found' the neighborhood because of it's close proximity to Manhattan and relatively inexpensive housing make for a VERY interesting mix on the street and we love it.
What's great about staying in Williamsburg is the EASY access to all the major sites around NYC: Times Square, Broadway, Macy's, the Empire State Building, all the museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. But what's really enjoyable and a real delight are the VERY walkable streets around us packed with both the old-world shops (the perfect cappuccino at Setti Pani bakery) side-by-side with the new art galleries, trendy clothing stores and fun finds (graphic comics books from around the world at Sparacino's).
We stayed four nights, late October 2016 occupying the Parlor and Garden units, first and second floor respectively. The apartments were in excellent condition, sober decor, ample space; linens were super soft, powerful shower, strong WiFi, you name it, hands down one of the best places I've stayed.
The location was half a block away from the Lorimer train station, "L" line, going straight to Manhattan. Williamsburg has a fantastic night life as well and this location is in the midst of it all.
The hosts were great from the first discussions, throughout the stay and afterwards. I strongly recommend this place. Looking forward to my next trip.
So much to rave about! Great location, we walked to get coffee, late night snacks, lunch... etc. The hosts were great with recommending places to visit and eat! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. It was easy to drive to and easy to find free street parking. The pictures are very accurate and the outside garden was our favorite place to sit. I would highly recommend this apartment :)
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 8 nights while visiting NYC/Brooklyn. The apartment is spacious and was very comfortable. We had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The owners were next door if we did need anything additional. They were very approachable. The location was great. Next to a very busy intersection but our street was quiet. It was a family oriented neighbourhood with two grocery stores just around the corner. It was easy to get into the city with the subway just around the corner as well. We would stay here again if visiting Brooklyn in the future.
We stayed in this Williamsburg apt. for 6 nights in March. There are so many good things to say about it that it is hard to know where to begin. The location is terrific. It is literally a block from the L line and two subway stops from Manhattan. About 5 stops from Union square. It made it easier to get around parts of Manhattan than being in Manhattan. We walked down to Bedford St., which is the busy part of Williamsburg. It was a mob scene on a sunny weekend so we were glad we were further away from Bedford St.
The apt. is very spacious and clean. It has a very large bedroom with huge closet. It would have been nice to have a small dresser with drawers but we put folding things in hanging shelves in the closet. The bed was comfortable.
The weather was quite cold when we were there but the apartment was nice and warm. The hot water pipe for the radiator in the bedroom could be noisy sometimes.
The apartment was well stocked with dishes, pots, glasses and things like salt, pepper, oatmeal. The kitchen was a full kitchen and the island/table was great.
The wifi worked very well and the apartment had very good natural light. We will definitely try to stay here again if we come back to NYC.
My daughter and I stayed at the Parlor appt on Labour day weekend and we loved it. It was exactly like the pictures. The bed was confortable and thank you for having air condionning...it was really hot that weekend.
We came by car from Montréal and we did noy have to use the car once. Parking was great just in front. We walked and visited Williamsberg...went to a nice little restaurant called ''Meatballs''. So many things to see and the night life is great. We also walked to Atlantic ave for some shopping,Barclay's Center, Park Slope, Prospect Park ( just beautiful )and took the subway just on the corner to go and see Chelsea 's Market & the highline....from there to Wall Street and walked accross the Brooklyn Bridge back into Brooklyn.
Everything was great. I do recommend a really good restaurant '' Gwynneth'' for fine dining, on Graham ave in Williamsberg. I would love to come back to Williamsberg in a few years with all the renovations going on this place will be fantastic.
The only thing missing were glasses of wine, there was only one...also loved your backyard and what you did with the place very inviting...sorry we did not get a chance to meet.
Thanks for everything
Liane & Janik from St Bruno Qc.
We just returned from spending a week at this place ( Parlor)
The kitchen is listed on the website as having everything you want for tea, coffee or wine. Unfortunately we were found there with a very good bottle of wine- and only found 1 wine glass and 1 glass for water. The other 3 glasses are large plastic glasses. I think the owners should visit the kitchen and realize that what is really there-regularly. We ended up going out and buying 4 wine glasses to be able to drink wine.
The TV sound is awful,,,,,and the reception with the rabbit antennas was pretty bad-
The bathroom- please note that the grout inside the tub/shower is black and a simple spray with bleach would remove whatever is growing there. Small details like these would make this property more attractive.
Not a single drawer in the bedroom or any of the 2 closets…and not enough hangers for both of us ( most of your guests rent this for a week- so an extra set of cheap hangers would be useful)…..there is space in the closet to buy a cheap IKEA set of drawers-= this would really help the guests.
The internet is also very slow and I could not have reception from the desk from the bedroom. I would have to work on the kitchen bar where the reception was better.
This is our fifth rental through VRBO around the world and I am sorry to say that we were disappointed.
Best reason to book: This apartment is a 1-minute walk to the L Subway line, which takes you directly into the center of Manhattan, so in 5-7 minutes you'll be in Union Square. And our location is in fabulously hip & hopping Williamsburg, so you get both a small happening neighborhood feel as well as immediate proximity to Manhattan.
McCarren Park is only five blocks away with running track, skateboard park, playground, tennis and lovely grounds for an afternoon stroll and people watching.
24 laundromat is one block away and a dry cleaners is half a block away.
Full grocery store is a 5 minute walk, two small city groceries are a half block away.
