Gold Creek Cabin's greatest feature is that it hangs over the cool waters of Gold creek which is full of Trout. You can fish off the deck or dip your toes in the cool water. The cabin provides a quiet peaceful get-away due to it's secluded location without being completely cutoff.
The cabin was absolutely perfect! We had an amazing off-the-grid getaway... our annual retreat before the start of a new school year. We fished from the porch, made smores over the outdoor fire pit, our boys played in the creek, and we enjoyed everything the forrest has to offer. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable and the sounds of the creek were hypnotic. The cabin has all the basic essentials, plus movies and games for the kids. Linens were fresh. There is no cell service (which was a plus for us), but there is a landline for emergencies. Very close to outdoor activities, but far enough away to enjoy privacy. Reservations were easy. Deposit refund rapid. My family LOVED being there! We hope to come back!
Three of us stayed here for two nights. Very quiet and peaceful! The location is perfect for hiking trails, river rafting, fishing, boating, etc. The accommodations are great and the cabin very clean. We will definitely consider renting this again when in the area!
We stayed 2 days and feel very refreshed. The cabin is exceptionally clean and the porch over the river is fantastic. Everything was wonderful and for the cost could not have been better. I recommend to anyone looking for a cabin to rent.
Only complaint is we could not figure out how to light the fireplace or heaters. Did not really need them but a fire is always nice.
The sound of the stream, the green of the woods were better than a spa. The cabin is very clean, with a lot of care to keep things dry in this deep forest. Anyone who wants serenity, privacy and simplicity will love this place. The beds are comfortable and there are games and DVDs for the whole (small) family. I would have liked better lighting and an open bedroom window (it had a window air conditioning unit which wasn't needed and made the room feel stuffy while it was gorgeously cool outside).
We loved this cozy cabin! If you want to get disconnected from life and just enjoy nature, then this is the place for you. As other reviews said, comforts of home with a feel of rustic. Living room is a little dated on furniture, but beds were great! 30 minutes from NOC for rafting. Lovely rivers on drive to NOC with beautiful waterfalls. Off the beaten path. Love it!
This cabin is a genuine log cabin located about a 30 minute drive from most of the rafting places in Nantahalla. It is in a secluded, wooded location, and has a lovely stream running right underneath the back porch. There is a nice fire pit in the yard, and a very pretty stone fireplace inside. It is rustic - no hot tub or fancy appliances - but it has all the basic amenities, including a small TV with satellite reception. There is no cell phone or wireless, but there is a working landline inside. It's a bit of a drive to get to the rafting or to restaurants, but it's a great price and worth it for the secluded feel. There are two bedrooms upstairs, and you need to go through the "kids bedroom" to get to the master. There is one bathroom with a very small shower that may be a bit of a challenge for a larger person. There are lots of DVDs and some board games inside, which everyone enjoyed. Linens are provided but they ask you to bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. I would definitely come here again and it's a great value!
The creek behind the cabin is wading level to cool your toes. Full of fish
