A bright, airy villa with a cozy 'at home' feel, 451 Golf Shore Villa is located in a private member-owned island resort. The villa sits on the 18th tee box of the Ocean Winds Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones design, one of two island golf courses. Award winning club facilities are all new construction and include a beach front restaurant with breathtaking sunset views, fitness, tennis and equestrian centers and a main club with both formal and informal dining, with excellent cuisine. This villa is an easily accessible, ground level unit with all rooms on one floor. It provides the ultimate in comfort with TVs in each room and many other amenities.

The island offers an amazing 3.5 miles of sandy beach, with gentle surf - ideal for strolling, swimming or bike riding, where you can watch the horizon for playful dolphins, pelicans, and shrimp boats. The island amenities include two outdoor pools, indoor lap pool, miles of flat terrain for biking, along with ample places to fish, crab and enjoy birding/wildlife watching.

Quaint, charming Charleston is 20 miles away with it's beautifully restored stately homes, wonderful bar scene, eclectic dining, maritime museum, aquarium and historic ' market' downtown. There is always something happening there - from Spoleto USA and Charleston's Food & Wine Festival to the symphony, plus local night spots featuring live bluegrass, jazz and soul music year round.

About Sue Dostal

If you love the outdoors as I do, you too will fall in love with Seabrook. My family and I have been coming down to South Carolina for many years and with each visit, we find something new and exciting on the island itself or in nearby Charleston. Seabrook Island is a unique community with a vibrant and wide variety of wildlife, over 3 miles of pristine sandy beaches, and the best bike riding in the area. Charleston has been ranked the friendliest city to visit by Conde Nast 4 years running. Known as the 'low country' of South Carolina Seabrook Island reflects the best of the South, with stately moss covered Live Oak trees lining your approach that add to that sultry, laid-back southern charm! We know you will enjoy your stay!

Sue Dostal purchased this villa in 1978

Why Sue Dostal chose Seabrook Island

This villa is our home and you will find it uniquely furnished to ensure comfort and convenience for you and your guests. The kitchen is well stocked with spices & condiments, beach towels, beach carts, grills and all you will need for that special picnic on the beach. We've got games, a TV in the three seasons porch and plenty of room for entertaining. And if you're lucky, you'll be rewarded with a glimpse of our local island deer seen from the porch at dusk enjoying their evening meal. And if you like birding, you'll love sightings of our local Painted Buntings!

What makes this villa unique

AMENITY CARDS ARE INCLUDED in our rental fees, which give you access to our golf courses, to the Club's fine restaurants, our local Seabrook Shoppe, horse trail rides on the beach, tennis and our Lake House fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools. Our 'home away from home' villa is an easily accessible ground level unit with all rooms on one floor. The large screened sunroom porch has been enclosed for additional year-round living space. The near perfect year round weather permits maximum use of the many island amenities including golf, tennis, horse-back riding, swimming, and biking.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Sue, I wanted you to know that we enjoyed our visit to Seabrook . Your place was very homey and we especially loved the sunroom. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Magical trip again

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time renting this property. We love everything about it, and it was perfect with our small child. Sue is very helpful and the villa is very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking at home. The location is great and quiet. The amenity cards are a real plus; we went to the ocean side pool every day. Thanks, Sue!

Condo Review

  • 4 of 5

Several large cock roaches were found in the kitchen and bedroom areas. There was only one bath towel, wash cloth and hand towel in each bathroom upon our arrival. We had to get up early the last day to wash and dry the bed sheets before we left - per instructions. The condo was clean and nicely decorated and we had a great time playing the games which were provided.

Owner's Response: I regret your experience with the Palmetto bugs and only wish you had shared this with me during your stay, as we could have had our service come and spray inside the villa. Sadly, cockroaches (called Palmetto bugs here in the south) sometimes are found in South Carolina, especially after wet weather which we've had over the last several weeks. The limited towels is something I will address immediately with our new cleaning service, to ensure they provide adequate towels for future guests. With regard to washing the bed linens before you depart, that is an expectation of each guest, but when renters let me know they feel the time allowed is inadequate, I typically agree to a later departure. Glad you enjoyed the games and other villa amenities!!

A hidden treasure- wonderful location, great amenities, prompt owner customer service, ample space

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in our home away from home for 2 weeks. We definitely hope to return and would recommend staying at this property to our friends and family! Sue was a pleasure to coordinate with! She was very quick in her responses, accommodating to our needs, helpful in requests for information of bike rentals and things to do. The amenities of the unit felt as though you were in your own home. Seabrook restaurant Pelican Nest had excellent food and views. The amenity card with access to the pool and restaurant was helpful and we think "a must have" when staying on Seabrook Island. The location was excellent for access to all that Seabrook Island offers. The location was also close enough to Charleston so we could drive there to enjoy what they have to offer! We enjoyed tours of the USS Yorktown, Fort Sumter, Civil War and slavery tours, ghost tours and market street shopping. We hope to make Sue's house a regular vacation spot for years to come.

Great villa on a beautiful island

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four spent a week at Seabrook. This villa was perfect for us. Plenty of room. Great location - quiet, easy bike ride to beach club. Everything we needed for a fun week was right there. The kitchen was well stocked. Beach towels, chairs, a small grill - all provided. My favorite room was the sun porch. Perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon nap.

Wonderful visit to island

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the villa. Everything needed was available. Perfect size for us. Great communication from the owner. We love the island and the amenities and view. One night the deer were right outside the porch door. Will definitely recommend to others.

Owner's Response: It was my pleasure to give you some local 'intelligence' about the island and the Charleston area, to ensure you had the best vacation experience possible. Since I live in the villa off-season, I try to keep it supplied with things people need and glad you found that helpful. Please come back soon!
