Fantastic House - Fantastic Family Fun Time

  • 5 of 5

The house was large and comfortable. We liked being on the canal because it was quiet, but we still had a place to safely secure the boat. Our grandsons really enjoyed fishing in the canal (even though they did not catch anything), but crabbing was the most fun! With two $3 crab nets, they were able to catch 10 crabs. So much fun making memories.

Downside: both coffee pots were missing pieces (or didn't work), but a quick trip to Brown's Grocery fixed that. New coffee pot purchased (and left for the next guests to enjoy).

Lovely spot but spoilt by the kitchen.

  • 3 of 5

This is in a nice location and is a spacious property. Unfortunately there were some cleanliness issues when we got there. My wife was really upset by how dirty the fridge was, the kitchen hob was not clean as well.

There was a shortage of cutlery and plates, mugs etc and a kettle would be useful to save having to boil water on the stove.

We could not get the gas BBQ to work, there was no gas attached and would spare bottle would not turn on. Every other place that we have stayed at provided gas for the BBQ.

To be positive the bedrooms were good and the master bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on.

The property would benefit from some outdoor chairs for relaxing.

We had great fun fishing for catfish off the jetty and crabbing as well.

The location is great, part way round the nature drive and the pintail wildlife drive was fantastic.

We did try to contact the housekeeper to sort out a wifi issue and the BBQ but was told that she was out of town and had no other response for the three days we were there.

Overall a lovely property that is ruined by a lack of good cleaning and attention.

Good home to rent- needs some tlc

  • 3 of 5

I recently stayed in this home. It has a great floor plan in a super location. I must say the beds are very soft. However the house keeper needs to clean much better. There were little dead bugs in the windows and much dust in and around the home. Light bulbs need to be replaced and master toilet doesn't flush. We had to take off the lid and pull the bobber up to make it flush. Yuk. Our 1st night we couldnt find enough towels and it forced us to share. Not good. The next day my son found the dryer full of towels. And the dishwasher was full of dishes. The carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. I will say that all these are easy to correct if you get a competent house keeper. After all I was charged a cleaning fee but the home wasn't what I've experienced from other home rentals.

Owner's Response: Danielle, I am very sorry that your experience with us was not as pleasant as it should have been. Our house was vacant for 2 months before your stay due to our off-season. I should have had the housekeeper go back through and tidy up before your stay. It is my fault in forgetting to scheduling that. I will learn from this mistake and make sure it doesn't happen again. Please consider us for a future stay and I will personally make sure you have a better experience. Thank you for the feedback, Brown

Perfect for our family stay

  • 4 of 5

There was a little confusion regarding our arrival time, but the house was ready and very clean by the time we arrived. The house was spacious and easily slept 7 adults and 2 children. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the lake.

Easter Weekend Trip

  • 5 of 5

We booked this house for our annual Easter weekend family trip. Our group consisted of ages 1 through 63. Everyone enjoyed fishing and crabbing from the boat slip that is located in the back yard. The house was very nice and the pictures really don't do this place justice. The rooms are HUGE and you could actually fit beds in the master closet. Very nicely decorated and clean. I am very picky about where we stay and this place didn't leave me wanting to wipe everything down with clorox wipes. ;-) very nice. We definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and enjoy your family. Thanks for a great weekend!
