About Allison Goodwin

Our parents purchased this 2-Villa property in 1978. Family members live in one villa and our guests enjoy our identical 'twin'. The photo above is a 20-30 minute hike up the hill above the rainbow tunnel - wonderful hiking the Marin Headlands right outside our door - that is if you can pull yourself away from our deck over the water.

Why Allison Goodwin chose San Francisco Bay Area

The property speaks for itself.

What makes this villa unique

Listening to occasional fog horns, seals barking and sea gulls, watching the full moon rise and sailboats race around buoys. Walking down along the waterfront through historic Sausalito for morning coffee or hopping on the ferry to San Francisco, this is a magical place to visit and live. Enjoy and Welcome!

THE BEST OF SAUSALITO

  • 5 of 5

This is as good as it gets. Super comfortable, views to die for, and easy access with no steps to climb. We stayed for the entire month of Oct and have already booked next Oct. We had one small problem. The Direct TV did not have our two favorite programs. I texted the info to Allison, the owner. Within 5 minutes I received a return text "Try it now". And our programs were there. Before we checked in we spent two nights at the 4 Seasons in San Francisco. I thought that their service was the best.....but of course I hadn't meet Allison yet.

Came for the views, wanted to stay for the views..

  • 5 of 5

Did I mention the views? Both bedrooms open onto a southern view of Angel Island, Alcatraz, San Francisco... Wake up to dozens of sailboats or kayaks or rowing practice. Sit out on the deck watching the seals frolic underneath you. Sleep in on the extremely comfortable beds. Bring groceries and eat in as everything you need is in the house. Or walk down to the waterfront and eat at one of the amazing restaurants. Or take a short drive up 101 to wineries. Or take a 20 minute drive across the Golden Gate to enjoy San Francisco. In short, this is the perfect place to sit and check out from life for a while or a home base for tourism.

Allison and her sister are amazing hosts, they bend over backwards to help and are always accessible for questions or any needs you may have.

Why are you still reading this... go book the house.

Beautiful Views

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in this home in July 2016.

Maneuvering our rental car into the driveway and garage was a little scary at first. There was a car in the garage and another in the driveway and the turn for us to get into the only available space was very sharp and steep. We were glad we had rented a small sedan. My husband figured it out after the first time. The roads were very steep, narrow and windy, but that's what gives the houses the great bay views!

The house was very clean and welcoming. We were traveling with another couple and it was nice that the two bedrooms were equally nice. The mattresses and bedding were great. It was pretty warm during our stay, and it was nice to have a fan in the bedroom. We got a little too warm even with the fan, but adjusted the bedding and made it more comfortable. The house does not have air conditioning.

The kitchen and bathrooms were a little plain and dated, but everything functioned well. The best part was the great view of San Francisco Bay from both bedrooms, the family room and the dining room. The family room furniture was comfortable, but we spent most of our time sitting on the balcony.

The neighborhood was pretty quiet. We could occasionally hear others talking, dogs barking, or chairs scraping on other balconies, but not much.

I would recommend this home and would love to return in the future!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the tips and yes, in time our kitchen & baths will be updated. But we all love Josephine for the location & views. Oh, the driveway is scheduled for repairs - in the meantime, we still have room for 2 cars off street for guests. Cheers! Allison & Family.

Gorgeous views...great location!

  • 5 of 5

We just left this beautiful home after staying there 6 nights! Outside the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, but close enough to go back and forth. We drove to Napa and Sonoma for day trips and it was always so relaxing to come "home" and sit on the patio with a glass of wine. Waking up early and enjoying the sunrise with a cup of coffee was amazing. I have never slept better! You can actually see the bay from the bed:) The house had everything we could have possibly needed and Allison and Dana were a text away for any questions. Downtown Sausalito was walking distance if you don't mind some steep hills or great exercise, but parking is available if you choose to drive down.

Hope to return one day to do it all over again! Thanks so much Allison and Dana!

Best vacation home ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I, plus our spouses, spent 7 days at this lovely home. Everything was perfect and views were breathtaking. We had such a grand time, that it was hard to go back home to Texas. The owners of the home were very kind and treated us like family. Sausalito is just across the bay from San Francisco, so it was easy breezy to travel back and forth. But, there is such a relaxed romantic atmosphere in Sausalito, that you may never want to venture over to SF. I highly recommend staying in this home.

Spectacular Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

My wife, along with my son and his wife, spent 4 nights in this Sausalito home, and I can tell you ... book it now! It's a spectacular vacation spot with incredible views of San Francisco, the bay, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge and much more. From the bedrooms, the living room or the kitchen, the views are the best anywhere. And the balconies are perfect for morning or evening relaxing! The house is a short walk to downtown Sausalito, and the neighborhood is a cool, hillside (steep hills) area. Allison was great to work with ... and the house was just as promised! Awesome place all around.
