Tundra Bob's Cabin On Kasilof River

Bedrooms 1
Space 700 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Located on the glacier-fed, salmon-running Kasilof River, Tundra Bob’s is the cozy cabin that is perfect for the Alaskan Experience. You can have all the peace and quiet that this secluded cabin offers or if you’re ready for adventure you are not too far from the highway or trail that will take you to it.

The interior is brand spanking new but Bob recycled the siding from the original homesteader’s cabin on the site. The wide covered porch offers a great spot to relax and watch the river run and tell fish stories. There is also a partially covered deck with a picnic table and a grill to cook up the day’s catch. A stairway leads you down to the river where you can cast your line.

Stepping inside Tundra Bob’s Cabin, you enter the comfy living and dining area where satellite TV and WiFi are provided. To the right is the completely equipped kitchen and the Mermaid bathroom. Up the stairs to the bedroom where the sound of the running river will lull you to sleep on the queen bed or the twin trundle bed. No matter what room you are in, there are plenty of windows to provide panoramic gazing at life on the river and in the forest.

About Gail Knobf

Since our children had begun lives of their own we moved to Alaska from California in 1990. Bob has been a drywall contractor for 40+ years and Gail just retired after teaching for 15 years in California and 22 years in Alaska. We were following Bob's lifelong dream.

Gail Knobf purchased this cabin in 1993

Why Gail Knobf chose Kasilof

We flew up one weekend after Gail was offered a teaching job to find a house. Gazing out the living room window of a house we were checking out, we watched a moose swim across the river. That did it...we made an offer which was accepted and we've been here ever since.

What makes this cabin unique

Relax with the view of the river. Fish or watch the bald eagles, moose and other wild life that pass through.

Relaxing and off the grid. Exactly what we needed.

From our initial arrival to our exit, we couldn't have asked for better surroundings or hosts. Gail and Bob are extremely friendly and cordial and very non-intrusive to their guests. looking forward to returning on our next getaway.

Tundra Bob's Cabin is the perfect Alaskan experience with the river right out the front door. Whether you are in Alaska to fish, relax, site see, or shop this hidden gem allows great access to fishing and yet close enough to town for anything you need. The couple that have the cabin are beyond welcoming and helpful!

I can't say enough good things about this place and can't wait to go back!

Perfect cabin and location

All the reviews are correct - and the description is accurate. Everything you could want in a Kasilof riverside cabin. Highly recommend it. Great kitchen, fire pit, grill. And you can fish right from the shore. Thanks, Bob & Gail!

nice cabin with great views of the river

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this cabin in August on 2017. Right on the banks of the Kasilof River with steps leading down to the river. We were not able to fish from the bank but maybe because we didn't have the right equipment. About 15 minutes from Soldotna and an hour or so from Homer. Great central Kenai location. Adequate kitchen, comfortable bed, wifi and satellite TV. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view, clean, and wonderful people to work with!

  • 5 of 5

Tundra Bob's was perfect for my family of four. The view out the front door of the Kasilof River can not be beat! The kitchen is well stocked and the host's are available on the property if you should need them but also allow you to have your space. Overall, a wonderful Alaskan experience. We look forward to staying here again soon!
