Comfortable and Cozy
We had an enjoyable stay in this condo. It was very cozy but just the right size for my wife and 2 young children. Check in and check out was quick and easy and we arrived early on Friday and were allowed to check in early which was nice. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed for the weekend. We didnt do any gourmet cooking but for what we needed there was plenty. There are quit a few stairs to get to this condo and getting luggage up and down was "fun" but it wasn't too bad. A newer mattress on the bed would be nice but there was a foam top that made it a bit better. Also, the heater in the bed room was very loud and we just had to turn it off at night to be able to fall asleep. Overall, it was a nice stay, and I would consider staying in this condo again.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was a spacious cabin for my fiance and I. A few things that would be nice to have in here: a frying pan (there are only pots), scissors, cereal bowls, and a spatula. We like to cook at home and it made it a little difficult. A new mattress would also make this even better! Overall, we had a good time and would consider staying here again.
Great for the price.
Cons: The place is a little dated, there are stairs you must climb to get to the apartment. When it snows those stairs are harder to climb.
There is NO WIFI!
TV's are older but working well enough when it doesn't snow.
Pros: For the price the place is clean and comfortable and well stocked. There is a parking spot in the garage which is priceless. We always drove to the lifts but as far as I know you can walk or take a short walk to the shuttle.
We used the hot tub which was clean and well kept.
All in all an easy 4 stars. Would have been 5 if they added a good wifi.
Thank you for having us!
Decent place. Horrible Management
We arrived Thursday night after the management company (Mammoth Reservation Bureau, MRB for short) had closed and per their instruction, I walked through the unlocked front door and found our envelope with the key and paperwork in an unlocked box. In the paperwork, MRB asked me to return the next day to fill out / turn in some paperwork. In all my years of renting condo's in Mammoth, I have NEVER had to return the next day to do paperwork. After returning to the condo, we went to the hot tub. The code that MRB gave me to get into the hot tub area was wrong. I called MRB and am still waiting for a return call.
We also had a small electrical issue in the condo. The outlet that powered the entertainment center was not working. While MRB to come and fix it, they left the TV on. I realize that this was to show us that the issue was fixed, but a simple note would have sufficed. What if we were gone for the night, way to waste the owners money on electricity.
The condo itself was decent, clean and only a 15 minute walk to the lifts. The shuttle stop is only a 5 minute walk. I would be happy to stay there again if the owners get away from MRB.
As an owner to be, I will NOT even consider MRB to handle our rental business.
WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE BIG WOOD CONDO. CHECK IN WITH THE BUREAU WAS EASY AND THEY ALLOWED FOR AN EARLY CHECK-IN, WHICH WAS GREAT BECAUSE THE SNOW WAS REALLY COMING DOWN THAT DAY. BEAUTIFUL WINDOW VIEWS OF THE SNOW FALLING, COZY FIREPLACE AND NICE SIZED PLACE FOR A FAMILY OF THREE.
Quiet location bordered by forest and a golf course
