Oaklands - home from home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this fantastic bungalow the last week in August and cannot say enough about how well equipped, clean and comfortable our stay was. We made maximum use of the bungalow and managed to do lots of site seeing and relative visiting all at the same time. The kitchen was so well equipped and we made good use of the BBQ on the sunny days. One member of our party was in a wheelchair and we had no complications at all, so recommend for wheelchair users. We will be back again and again, highlighly recommended.

Beautiful home in a beautiful land

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Oaklands. The home was warm, clean and obviously loved. The owner of the property was a dream to deal with (even staying on the phone with me while we were a little lost in the country side). 5+ stars for sure!

Overall nice house with a few quirks

  • 4 of 5

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the area. The house was very clean and had modern bathrooms. However, we experienced a few issues with the Internet and it was difficult to get the front door unlocked. There also were not enough linens (towels, extra sheets/blankets for the beds) and toilet tissue for the six people we had staying in the house. The house had a stale smell when we first arrived and a couple of the bathrooms had a funny sewage like smell, but we weren't sure if that is a common issue in the area.

Owner's Response: I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay and found the house to be very clean and comfortable. I apologize that you did not have the bedding you needed. I had thought that a duvet and quilt for each bed was sufficient and did not expect that you would have required a change of bedding or extra towels for a 4 night stay. Being in the Irish countryside with a neighboring farm can sometimes lead to odors which tourists are unfamiliar with :-)

Perfect Place for our Ireland Adventure!

  • 5 of 5

We (myself, my husband, stepson, sister, and mom) wanted to find a place to stay that was within good driving distance to almost any part of Ireland that we wanted to visit. We definitely found it with this great house. Not only was it in a great location, the house and all of its amenities were superb, lots of space, wonderfully furnished, plenty of rooms/beds and bathrooms for us all. The yard is beautiful and we were blessed with the singing of birds everyday. Many days we were also visited by cows in the back pasture. We spent 9 lovely days in this house and everyday after spending around 12 hours a day driving and touring around the different areas of Ireland, it was a great place to come back to. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Ireland!

Overall, it was a lovely stay!!

  • 4 of 5

The owner was wonderful to work with and the spacious home was situated in a quiet location just outside of Limerick. Bunratty Castle / Village and Durty Nellie's Pub (right by the Castle) were only 20 minutes away. They were a great way to start our Ireland getaway - we even went back to the pub our last night there as a great way to end our adventure.

We really enjoyed our stay at Oaklands. Maureen was wonderful to work with, we wished we could have met her. The home was lovely and a great home base as we ventured out every day to see the sites of Ireland. We would definitely stay here again!
