About Nathan W

From our family to yours. We would love to share our lovely home in Sausalito to guests or families that want to enjoy the best of Sausalito. We've chosen Sausalito for it's ideal location to San Francisco and surrounding areas. This house has been the location of many memories for our family and it awaits to create memories for it's next guest. We've outfitted the house with everything guest will need to feel right at home!

Nathan W purchased this house in 2008

Why Nathan W chose Sausalito

Sausalito is a very special place... almost magical. Our family lives in the wine country (Sonoma) which is only 40 minutes away. We find the house presents a feeling of being in nature and yet is a short distance from whatever 'city activity' we desire.

What makes this house unique

Our home is less than 5 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge. There is great hiking within minutes of our home as well. Enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Tamalpais and Tiburon and catch the evening fog rolling in over the hills. Our home is ideal for those wanting to enjoy the best of Sausalito!

Guestbook comments from the owner

"The pictures on are great, but the reality of the place is even better (and that almost never happens). The view from the porch is incredible. We so enjoyed watching the sunsets and the mist SF fog over Mt. Tam. The house is a joy to return to after a day of sightseeing. We really appreciated how well-equipped the house is. You have truly thought of everything. From the wonderful kitchen to the comfortable beds and extra linens. This has been a lovely place to be a guest. Truly, there was not one thing the we needed that we didn't find. Thank you for being so organized and accommodating. It was nice to meet you!"

Great home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 19 year old son and his girlfriend, and our 4 year old son spent just over two weeks stating at Nathan’s family home in Sausalito. We are from London, UK, but have vacationed several times in the Bay Area/Sonoma/Napa region so we know the area well but usually stay in hotels in either San Francisco or Sonoma. We wanted a well-appointed, comfortable, and well-positioned home to use a base for day trips as well as a place to just relax which we could call home for the duration of our stay.

The booking process and the check-in and check-out processes were very efficient and well-organised. Nathan handled everything from the initial enquiry, answering a couple of queries through to the check-in/check-out quickly and efficiently.

The property is beautiful, spacious, well-positioned, and well-appointed with wonderful panorama views from Mount Tam round to Tiburon. The property had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. All the furnishings, bed linen and towels were of high quality and all the rooms were extremely well-appointed, comfortable and spacious. It truly felt like a home away from home and we were never on top of each other during the entire stay.

The property is situated high on the hill above Sausalito in a very peaceful, quiet and safe neighbourhood but only a few mins drive (20 mins walk) to the centre of Sausalito.

Apart from all the delights and amenities on the doorstep in Sausalito itself, the property is well-located for access to all the main visitor destinations: San Francisco (by ferry, car or bike – or even running according to my son), the Marin Headlands, Mount Tam, Stinson Beach, and Muir Woods, are all just a short distance away. In fact, the Morning Sun trailhead is only five minutes’ walk from the property and from there one can walk all round the Marin Headlands from Golden Gate Bridge to Fort Cronkhite and the Marin Headlands Visitor Centre. The Bay Area Discovery Museum at Fort Baker is five minutes’ drive from the property and is an ideal day out for those with children under the age of 10. In addition, the property is well-positioned for day trips to Sonoma, Napa, Healdsburg, and even further destinations such as Santa Cruz, Monterey and Medocino/Russian River Valley are all possible as day trips. I even did Clearlake via Sonoma on the motorbike. Would we stay again? Yes, absolutely.

Awesome home and wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

We loved this home and the amazing view from the balcony! Nathan was so helpful even before we got there with his one a car!!! He met us at the house upon arrival and walked us through everything we needed to know while staying there! He gave us referrals on restaurants to eat at and wineries to visit! This was the perfect house to come home to at night after visiting San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma each day! A couple of nights we brought back a pizza or steaks to grill out, just so we could enjoy being at the house as a family! I would recommend this house to anyone who appreciates upscale living! It is beautiful! We hated to leave and if we make it back to San Francisco again, we will definitely stay here! Thanks Nathan!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

This review is long overdue. My family of five travel all over the world and we generally use upscale vacation rentals. this house is the nicest one we have ever stayed in. Seriously, the pictures do not do it justice. I would have my morning coffee outside on the terrace in the perfect lounge chair and soak up the beautiful view and fresh air. The furniture is tasteful, everything is top of the line, even the master bathroom floors are heated. The pantry and toiletries and laundry room are all well stocked. The location is perfect, convenient to visit the redwoods as well as an easy drive into the city. We did not want to leave the house, and even elected to cancel dinner reservations in order to just have take out in the house with the fab view. I highly recommend this lovely home!

When Nathan said, "We look forward to sharing our home with you, he meant it!"

  • 5 of 5

There really are no words to describe the hospitality we felt other than, "As extended members of Nathan's family". He made sure no detail were left without perfect detail. I can honestly say, it pains me to leave this review for fear the home won't be available on our future trips! I did not want to leave, I can not wait to return....and feel Nathan will be someone we stay in contact with for life. If you are discriminating, prefer peace yet close proximity to the Bay Area, do not look any further. I will personally promise, you will not be disappointed (as we certainly were during our first days in another VRBO on busy Bridgeway in Sausalito).

PS- please take care of my new HOME away from HOME!!! :-) I'll be back often!

This has it all!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in rental homes several times and have not stayed in one that literally has everything. Leave your Shampoo, Conditioner, Bath Wash and personal effects home. Simply pack your clothing, the rest is here in this beautiful home. Literally, down to the Q-tips! I found the management was available for any questions or problems that I had.

We were traveling with two babies, 1-1/2 yrs and 3 mo. old and found there is a "pack and play" for the baby available (unfortunately we brought our own, carrying through the airport terminals).

Our bedroom (Master) was beautiful and there was a shower, large bath tub, and hot tub included (though we never used the hot tub). The bed was extremely soft and I hated to get up in the morning.

The kitchen is stocked extremely well. There was also a walk-in pantry stocked with many items available to you, although they ask that you replace what you use. The cabinets are stocked with service for many more that in our group of 6 so you will not be without anything. Our 1-1/2 yr old enjoyed the built i table and "L" shaped cushioned eating area. He used this for his play area and hide & seek and "catch me if you can" area. This was the general gathering place for all of us. We enjoyed breakfast in this "nook" and many wonderfully cooked dinners there also.

The house smells AMAZING! This is one thing I now use in my home, the same idea that they use which is a reminder of my time in the house- the beautiful - the smell.

Everything is organized PERFECTLY. This is another thing I now use in my house. I realize I have too much 'stuff" at home and have tried to implement the same idea of Organization.

I can't wait until we are able to return. If you are not sure - Don't Be. This house is everything, if not MORE! The pictures are as they appear - beautiful.

This is a sleepy little town. You are just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge. My husband was here on business and they were able to walk down to the Ferry and take the Ferry home at night. I say it is a sleepy town because it closes up early in the evening. There are many grocery stores within a few miles, close driving distance.

I highly recommend this home. Rest assured it is everything it says, everything the reviewers say. We love the breakfast area, the furniture is very comfortable. The main living area is on the "second floor" the garage and laundry area is on the first floor. They even include laundry soap.

You will love this house & the owners!!
