This is a large home with unbelievably huge views from virtually every room of the house! Up at nearly 5,000 feet above sea level, on the top of the ridge overlooking the Hawksnest Resort near the township of Seven Devils, you can see miles and miles to Virginia and Tennessee! This home is very comfortably outfitted with a fully stocked kitchen, large seating areas with leather furniture, large stone fireplace, picture windows in many places to enjoy the view from the inside!
One word of caution if you have little ones. The decks are safe, but there is a spiral staircase in the center of the home that goes to all 4 floors of this house, and the railings for those spiral staircase are not built to current safety standards for infants or young children.
Please contact our management company Mountain Lodge Realty, Inc. for additional information about this home and how you can reserve this home for your next vacation in the western mountains of North Carolina! They also keep a current availability calendar up to date.
I used to come up here from Winston Salem with my family as a kid, and I always loved the mountain. I always wanted a mountain home, and was delighted when I got the chance to not only get a mountain home, but to get one with such a spectacular view from almost 240 degrees around the house. We bought the two lots next to us to protect our view.
We did enjoy our stay at Windy Knob. The property is very nice and the views are great. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend to other people. Your service and communication was appreciated.
Stayed here in 2007 during a family reunion (June). House is hugh. Views are breath taking. Floor to ceiling picture window panels in great room/living area. Not the first bug. Not even a fly. Ktchen area is without a doubt best one I've ever used. We had three(3) people cooking at the same time. This house IS on the top of the mountain. Get up early(7am) and watch the rabbits eat breakfast in the yard. Some the activities our family did: White Water rafting, Singing on the Mountain(gospel) on Grandfather Mnt. Fosco Gem Mine (great for the kids, and young at heart). Tweetsie RR. Bass General Store. And just sitting on the hugh decks, and picking and grinning.
Have another family reunion this summer (2011). The owner will be contacted.
