It is also suitable for seniors, because the entrance is at street level and there are no stairs. The flat is totally independent from the main house above, with a separate entrance, mechanical systems, phone line, etc. To sum it up, this little place is small in size, but big on charm!

About Alec Smyth
My wife and I are both management consultants who have traveled widely for decades, and have developed a strong sense of what we like in a locale and in accommodations. We actively manage our vacation rentals as a future retirement plan, but we select and prepare them by asking a simple test question -- would we be happy to live in them ourselves?
Alec Smyth purchased this Townhome in 2010
Why Alec Smyth chose Stanton Park
We picked this home expressly for vacation rental use, with the hindsight of having lived in this area for close to twenty years. It is just ideally situated with a combination of easy access to the major sites, and quiet once back home.
What makes this Townhome unique
The location! This is a place which is extremely quiet, where you are the shortest possible distance to the major DC attractions, and where you feel safe walking at any hour of night or day. It's a neighborhood that is utterly livable. There is wonderful grocery shopping nearby, restaurants you would visit with the family, bookstores, etc. Metro is a few blocks away if you need to go beyond walking range.

Great location, easy access for restaurants, groceries, Capital, Supreme Court, walkable to Smithson
Well kept, clean flat. Excellent information about DC in folder at the flat. Alec was great to work with!
Ideal accessible location
Great ground level apartment. Very clean with sunny dining area. Nice neighborhood. Easy access to Union station. Would definitely repeat a stay here. Thank you!
Weekend away from work
Very clean, perfect location! Much needed get away in a fantastic place.
Very cute and cozy!!
We had a very good time staying in Alec's condo. It is so convenient to the Capitol, the metro, restaurants, and grocery stores. It met all the needs of our family of 3. The best part is Alec. He was very responsive to any question we had and he seemed to sincerely want us to enjoy his place and D.C. It was a bit smaller than we expected, but we made it work. Thank-you Alec!
Great place to stay
We have stayed here several times and love it. So accommodating with any of our questions and the location is perfect for us. Highly recommend!
Great Home Base for DC
Thank you Alec - we enjoyed our trip to DC. The apartment was big enough for the 3 of us. (Cozy, but not cramped.) It's clear you want your guests to enjoy their stay and we did. Clean, and everything we needed. If for some reason we come back, we'll stay again!
The house is located on a quiet friendly street less than half a block from Stanton Park and one block from Restaurant Row, a block of restaurants with tables right on the sidewalk. Capitol Hill is a historical conservation neighborhood of beautifully maintained, charming old houses. It has a small-town feel and a human scale, is cosmopolitan, and has a thriving cultural scene. The residential area closest to Washington's institutions, it is home to a large number of politicians and VIPs. Other Activities: US Congress, Smithsonian, Newseum, Library of Congress, National Archives, Folger Shakespeare
