About David Mills

Well, this is an interesting new twist to the Home Away listing.... I am a recently retired Massachusetts state court judge, very active in politics and social justice matters, and I am slightly visible on Google. Grew up in Danvers (Boston's North Shore), Boston College and its law school (1967), and have worked in and about Boston since then. Currently developing a mediation practice, and I love boats, islands, dogs, talking, the Metropolitan Opera, the BSO, and the salmon with almonds, capers and lemon butter at legal Sea foods

David Mills purchased this apartment in 1994

Why David Mills chose Cape Cod

I first came to Provincetown in 1992 when I was 49 and just coming to terms with my truth, orientation wise. Provincetown is a welcoming, inclusive place where differences are celebrated and friendships are quickly formed. My home is right in the center of town.

What makes this apartment unique

The parking is great; the place is spotless; everything you need (other than your own special food) is ready for you......

Provincetown is at the very tip of historic Cape Cod. You'll find artists, musicians, fishing, whale watching, great seafood, Herring Cove Beach and so much MORE! There is a very nice children's park just a short walk away and public tennis courts right across a baseball field. This house has two units, and is just about at the base of the Pilgrim Monument. It's very close to the center of downtown, yet quiet and refined. Must do: a whale watch, a drag show, seafood at the Lobster Pot, swim at Herring Cove Beach, a play at the Provincetown Theatre, poetry reading, galleries and no trip to Provincetown is complete without Portugese fried dough.

Great Haven

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful place to stay in the sweetest town on the Cape. Great accommodations - everything is kept in tip-top condition with all the comforts of home. Close to everything including restaurants, clubs, shopping, etc. but peaceful and quiet just when you need it. We love staying at Winslow Cottage!

Fabulous Rental in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

I have rented a lot of places around the world and many on Cape Cod. This is a stand-out that I would recommend to anyone and to which I hope I will get the chance to return. My husband, our adult daughter, and I spent the week of Labor Day in the first floor unit at 20 Winslow. The property is as good or better than the description and it was spotlessly clean. Two nice bedrooms with closets and drawers so you can settle in. Nice big, clean bathroom with a washer and dryer. Great living space with a fantastic kitchen with everything that you need to cook and entertain. Lobster pot and crackers included. Big granite island with chairs, open to a nice living room. Then there is a very large "sun porch" which is really a completely finished room with a large dining table and another seating area. Everything you need is provided including linens and, always a nice touch: spices, salt and pepper and a lot of basics. Look in the cabinets and frig before you grocery shop. The view from the roof deck is superior. You will never get a better view of the Monument. It was surprisingly warm the week we were there and the AC is terrific. There was a problem with the frig which was handled speedily and cause us no inconvenience. David is a great owner and really wants you to feel comfortable in his home. The location is fantastic. Two blocks to the center of town, an easy bike ride or drive to the beach, and the grocery store, liquor store and Mac's fantastic Fish Market are on the next street. There is a shed for your bikes and a gas grill, picnic table and plently of chairs right outside the door. There is another unit on the second floor which is quite similar except it has a wood stove. We only occasionally heard the upstairs neighbors and it was not a bother at all. And a huge P'town plus. There is plenty of parking. We like this place so much that I hesitate to write a review. Maybe I would rather keep it a secret. Anyway, rent without hesitation if this meets your space needs. It is great.

Beautiful property, amazing location

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I have been staying here for 4 years now every August. The property is beautiful, clean, open concept and modern. The property has always been in amazing condition each time we arrive. The location is terrific right in the heart of Provincetown. A short walk down the hill and you are in the center of Provincetown with all its great shops and restaurants. Plus you are right next to the Provincetown Pilgrim monument, with fantastic views of the monument in the day and especially at night. The owner is extremely kind and courteous to make sure you have a great stay. My friends and I have never had a problem staying there. That is why we continue to come back year after year. I can not say enough positive things about this property, you have to experience it.

Awesome find!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been vacationing in Provincetown for over twenty years and we can honestly say that this property (unit 1 on the first floor) is the best that we've ever rented. It felt more like we were staying at a friend's home than a vacation rental property. Very clean and well maintained. The sheer size of the unit alone is bigger than anything else we could have rented in PTown - more than enough room for 4 to move about very comfortably. Full kitchen that is well appointed with everything you could need to cook a meal. David has thought of absolutely everything (even has golf umbrellas available for rainy day walks). The outdoor space at the property is ideal as well - gas grill, picnic table and chairs to sit and relax, and ample room for parking too (big plus for PTown).

The location is approximately a 3 minute walk to the Adams Pharmacy (right across from the Crown and Anchor Inn) - truly the heart of Commercial Street and right in the middle of all the action. Can't be beat! We hesitate in saying more in this review because we don't want to talk it up so much that it sells out - this is definitely a find and we would recommend it highly to anyone who is interested. We'll be back for sure!
