About The Owner

I moved to Boulder in 1982 for my first job out of engineering school. I moved into an apartment in an old victorian and my next door neighbor in that apartment is now my wife of 31 years! We purchased the house on Spruce when we married in 1985. It is our primary residence and we enjoy our time living here when it is not rented out.

The Owner purchased this house in 1985

Why The Owner chose Boulder

In 1984 my wife and I bicycled across America. We lived in Boulder at the time and realized after touring the country that Boulder is very special. I have been a nordic ski racer for 38 years. We share a love of cycling and I still love to run the trails close by. Boulder provides the perfect mix of proximity to great outdoor adventure and yet has all the amenities and diversity of a college town. It is not too big and not too small. The city planners had the forethought to purchase open space and keep a greenbelt on the edges of town. Enjoy Boulder,

I know we do!

Nice home in a fantastic location

  • 4 of 5

This is a nice place. It was clean, attractively furnished and the owner is very responsive. There were a few drawbacks - all things that are easily fixable. The dishes are noticably old and the towels had bleach stains on them. I can't tell you how nice it is to eat on fresh white dishes and to have nice looking linens and towels. The place is very sparsely furnished. No blender in the kitchen for example. No homey little touches like books, throws on the couch etc. The location one block off of Pearl Street can't be beat.

Clean and comfortable with a great location

  • 4 of 5

There were three of us sharing the Spruce Street Victorian for Christmas while additional family stayed in our Boulder house. The location to Pearl was convenient for last minute shopping. The house was comfortable. The kitchen well stocked sufficient for us to have a family Christmas dinner for 8 around the dining room table. The owner was nice enough to have some Christmas lights up around the exterior porch. The only complaint would be that the full bath is only accessible through one of the two bedrooms. Not a big issue but something to note.

Great location for a week in Boulder

  • 5 of 5

A colleague and I were in town for a week long training and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house was beautiful -- well maintained, comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect -- easy walking distance to all the great shopping and eating on Pearl Street and nearby. Having your own off-street parking was valuable and we loved sitting outside on the porch swing. It was a great place for a summer trip to Boulder. Thanks!

Good location

  • 3 of 5

This property was in a good location-close to Pearl Street and the bus station. The owner was easily accessible by phone and replaced the nonfunctioning coffeemaker within a reasonable amount of time. She added a bag of coffee for the inconvenience.

A-1 location, comfortable beds, excellent

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic location right by Pearl Street. Quiet residential neighborhood, yet close walking distance to everything. Having a driveway for parking is great also. Only one shower on the main level. Overall, very satisfied with the rental.

Quiet residential neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay and was exactly what we expected from the website. It is close to Pearl street and walking the neighborhoods was a treat. It is a bit of a walk to the trails but easy to drive. Being from Michigan we would have liked to be able to open the windows for fresh air, but instead enjoyed sitting on the porch. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay here in Boulder.
