About Susan Karlshoej

My husband and I purchased this property in late 2009 and have been through months of renovations to make this property into a comfortable, casual, stylish, relaxing place. I love mid-century modern architecture/Palm Springs modern. We live in Orange County, California, about 1 hour from the property--in another mid-century house.

I looked for a long time at dozens of properties in Palm Springs, I wanted a quiet neighborhood, no power lines obstructing the beautiful view of the mountains, and good interior space in a mid-century house. It is difficult all of those things in one property but the result was well worth the months of looking and months of renovating. I only wish I could air-lift this house to replace my main residence in Orange County!

This house in unbelievable in every way. Stayed here with a group of friends. Everything was immaculate, kitchen was fully outfitted (and we have several cooks in the group), the recent renovations like the bathroom were simply gorgeous. The outdoor space was beautifully landscaped and comfortable but luxurious feeling. Bed linen was fresh and clean - absolutely great night sleep. My room had a lovely closet and small desk. There was a definitely attention to detail and thought put into what people would need for a comfortable stay. Location was also pretty perfect - close to the center of town, grocery store, etc. But, really aside from food shop, there was very little reason to leave. Fantastic sound system throughout the house and outdoor areas heightened our enjoyment. Owner left full details about the house and instructions on how to leave the property so you didn't have to think about anything. I appreciated this. Things were labeled and you could just give in to the vacation. Also i got my deposit check back almost as soon as i got back. Fantastic experience all round - from the property to the interactions with the owner, who is lovely btw. Thanks so much for a truly wonderful weekend. I like to think i have particular tastes when staying at hotels and rental properties and this one was perfect!

Everything in this house is meticulously maintainged--kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, furniture, air con--everything. Great kitchen for cooking and entertaining. Well spaced bedrooms for privacy. Plenty of outdoor seating for poolside- or veranda lounging or dining alfresco in the soft desert air.

Beautiful Stay!

My family and I couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Susie was so great to work with and answered all my questions. The house is located in a quiet area of the Racquet Club Estates. It was spacious enough for my 7 family members and two small dogs since the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house. If you like to cook, this kitchen is for you! It is well equipped. The backyard was where we spent most of our time. It is so private. The pool and spa were wonderful. There were so many seating options in the backyard and none had a bad view. The pool floaties were a hit with the kids (and adults). The outdoor shower and towel hooks were a nice touch as well. We have rented many times in Palm Springs, but this is one house I would definitely return to. It truly had everything you could ask for. Comfort, cleanliness, and pride of ownership. Thank you Susie for an amazing stay!

This home was very clean when we arrived and was well stocked with everything we needed for a fun relaxing weekend! We had a great time and would not hesitate to book again if returning to Palm Springs.

Awesome Stay

Terrific, fully equipped. Pictures, description are rignt on target. Felt like we were at home. Located about a mile or so North of downtown, within walking distance of grocery store. We'll be back.

Lovely home

My family and I enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving! The home is decorated tastefully the pool and hot tub were wonderful and kept the little one's as well as the big one's entertained! The kitchen and bathrooms are very spacious and meticulous!!!! If we come back to PS wouldn't think twice of renting!

Couldn't have asked for more

My 3 business partners and I stayed at this home for 4 nights in October.

We loved the mid century modern vibe of this home. There are 4 very spacious bedrooms with large comfortable beds and 3 bathrooms so we all had plenty of space. The kitchen is large and everything we could have wanted to use for cooking and eating was there. The house was spotlessly clean.

The pool was very comfortable and the hot tub was nice at night. BBQ had direct hook up to gas so no chance of the propane tank running empty. We liked the feature of having music playing throughout the house and on the back patio if we wanted it to.

Everything at this home was in excellent working condition. There were plenty of towels including lots of pool towels. The pool and hot tub instructions were simple to understand and use.

The home is about 10 minutes from the airport towards the Northern edge of Palm Springs. The neighborhood itself is very quiet. It's quick to the freeway and close to downtown's wide selection of restaurants. A large grocery store and pharmacy are a few blocks away.

We really couldn't have been more pleased with this home. Not nearly every vacation rental that we've stayed at has been cared for as well as this one. The owner was always prompt to respond to questions and although she was out of town when we were there, we had contact information for other people, should we need anything.

There is an obvious pride of ownership and customer service here which explains why this property keeps getting great reviews.

Our group of 6-8 ladies have stayed here for 4 years in a row. We are planning our 5th now! Each room easily holds two people and plenty of space to hang out in the sun or shade. The owner is wonderful and makes everything just perfect. I can't say enough - we just love it here. The only complaint is the smaller room - the bed is a bit hard and you have to get cozy with your mate but not really a big deal. It feels like home away from home - truly!
