About Kurt Wahl
Kurt Wahl and Sandra Bailey were drawn to East Glacier and the east slope of Glacier National Park, like many others, by the rugged natural beauty of its landscapes. Originally from Washington and Colorado, we relocated from the East and took jobs in education and health care in Browning.
Kurt Wahl purchased this House in 2004
Why Kurt Wahl chose East Glacier Park
With the goal of spending the rest of our days here, we purchased the property in 2004 and began building. We designed it specifically to create a mingling of indoor and outdoor spaces and by 2006 were able to move in. Work soon took us away, but not so far that we couldn't return often. Offering it to vacationers beginning in 2008 has allowed us to hold on to the house and and our love of this place.
What makes this House unique
Whether we are returning from a long, leg-burning hike or simply gazing out at the aspens turning gold beneath the peaks along the front, we are always at peace here in Glacier.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely and well-stocked home. The owner was gracious and helpful. This house was perfect for our family gathering.
We had a wonderful stay at this house. The furnishings were excellent . The kitchen was well-equipped including a nice grill on the deck.
The only drawback was that there were moths in the house. The owner, who stopped by a couple of times to make sure that things were fine, said that it was just that time of year.
We were delighted to find that the owner stocked bear spray. We took it with us when we went hiking, but never had to use it. Also we did see a black bear one morning in the backyard - bonus!
Great Family House
This beautiful property was great for our family gathering. The large kitchen and family gathering area made our evening dinners a joy. The property manager/owner is very communicative and let us know way ahead of any changes we might encounter. The house was well stocked and made our stay very enjoyable. Highly reccomend this house!
The road and entrance was a bit of an issue but hopefully the county can fix the road properly and that the cow issue will be remedied. The owner is very hospitable .
A trip to remember
Our trip was amazing! We traveled from Wisconsin with my Sisters family. The house was great! It had everything we needed, was beautiful, and the views amazing! We spent our days in the park and relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful house at night. Kurt was a great host who made us feel welcomed and informed on things at the house and things to do in the park.
Incredible house in scenic surroundings
We loved staying in this house! We are a bit of hotel/rental snobs and we were completely happy with this house. There was plenty of space for 6 of us. The design was logical and the finishes and furnishings were great. We had a small hiccup when we arrived as there was a problem with the water. But Kurt the owner did everything he could to take care of it and it was back up and running the next day. Kurt was a great host, always accessible whenever we needed something or had a question. The house was about 10 minutes from the east entrance to GNP. There were no neighbors and only mountain views and rolling hills and trees as far as we could see. If we are ever back on the east side, we will not hesitate to stay here again!
Thank you for the kind words. These guests were more than gracious, as the well pump failed the very day they were arriving. I had just enough water to finish preparing the house for their arrival. Unfortunately I could not get the water running in time and they had to stay elsewhere for the night. (Thanks to Paul at Summit Mountain.) The P's were wonderful guests and I enjoyed very much getting to know them. I REALLY hope to see them back again some day.
