Great location/comfortable beds/needs updating

  • 4 of 5

We spent 3 nights and truly enjoyed being within walking distance of The Village restaurants/shops/busses. The Unit was very comfortable but has original everything circa 1975. Beds were great! Owner & on-site property mgr's were very responsive. No hair dryer so bring from home if needed.

Owner's Response: I appreciate the nice review. However, the living room, dining room, kitchen, and master bedroom have had significant renovations since we purchased the condo. See photos for more information.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Smaller condo compared to other places but we enjoyed our stay and had a great time. The deer every morning was wonderful entertainment for al of us. Be advised there are steep steps to the village but you can always take the shuttle.

Hidden Gem!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and spent a fantastic weekend at this condo & the pictures really don't do it justice. It's very cute and much larger than it looks. The prices are reasonable, the cleaning crew does a great job, and the owner was very responsive.

There appears to be a family of deer that live in the woods behind the condo, so they made several stops by to say hi (they love apples, but if it's happy hour they are ok with some Tostito's). The back porch is the size of a small bedroom by itself that I can see being used in the summer months for grilling and watching the sun set over the mountains (perfect unobstructed view!). Fast wifi, a great sound system that you can plug your music into, TV's in every room, plenty of glasses/plates and a lovely fire place were some of my favorite features. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that the microwave took three of us about 15 minutes to figure out. But that's no fault on the condo.

I'll admit, the exorcist stairs do suck, but once you get up them you are right there at village central near the slopes, restaurants and bars. Sure you can take a bus, but you can walk just as easily. This condo is much nicer than the rooms at Mountain Lodge, Rim Fire, or Snowcrest where I've stayed before. If you can just get past those stairs, stay here and enjoy your Snowshoe vacation.

Excellent Value/Close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at Snowshoe twice with my family and this condo is a SUPER 3 bedroom value. We have 2 teenagers-boy and girl, so each had their own room! The only thing they were outspoken about was the internet which did tend to be on the slower side- but that's something you will find throughout all lodging on the mountain. The master bedroom and master bath are HUGE. The master bath has a double sink. Haven't seen that option in many condos old or new. I've stayed at many ski resorts and ski homes in the Northeast, Colorado, CA and British Columbia so, I feel qualified to say this condo is an excellent option if you need a 3 bedroom that won't break the bank! The decor is cozy and updated and offers more square footage and bedrooms and bathrooms then most other MORE expensive lodging options on the mountain. Yes, there are some fairly steep stairs that you have to walk up to or down from to get to the unit or to the slope but you can always take the shuttle which comes by about every 15 minutes. The stairs are a good way to warm up and or stretch after skiing! Take the money you will save on selecting this lodging option and go on a snowmobile expedition. The kids said the snowmobiling wins over ski-in-out!

The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and even knives that will actually cut. Rare for ski houses/condos. The living room has 2 sofas and chairs. Plenty of space for everyone! The gas fireplace operates with a push of a button. The rear deck offers fabulous views and deer come to visit. We had plenty of towels.

The owner was fantastic and returned our security deposit within a few hours of our departure. We would definitely recommend this unit and hope to rent again in the future!

Good place for the money

  • 3 of 5

The condo says totally remodeled. Some things have been, but not all. Painting doesn't mean remodeled. To begin with there was no heat in the twin bedroom (which is very small..beds very short also). The maintenance man did come do a quick fix on the heater..then blower wouldn't stop. We didn't have enough towels for each of us to have even one. Housekeeping did bring more the next morning. Dishes had been left in dishwasher, since previous guests...smelled very bad. Mattresses were very worn..sank in the middle. Rugs in bathrooms appeared old and dirty. Kitchen supplies in drawers looked old and not clean. TV in living room small. TVs in 2 bedrooms didn't work. On the up side there was a nice gas fireplace and wonderful views out to the west. We enjoyed feeding the daily visits of the deer. Close to village, but steep climb up the stairs. Internet is shared, so it was very slow. Also suggest snowboard racks and repairing doors, so cold wind doesn't come in so strong. It is nice that the owner lets you stay for late checkout or even an extra nt. free if available.
