Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

View manatees in the clear water that flows past our property while you swim, canoe, kayak, or boat around our home. In about a 10 minute boat ride you can be in the Gulf of Mexico. Choose an island of your choice just off the coast to picnic and watch the sun set. Get a work out by taking a canoe or kayak trip up the Weeki Wachee River, then relax as the current brings you back home. Enjoy up close and personal many of our local birds, fish, and tropical plants in a quiet and relaxed setting.

The property itself is on a quiet corner lot at the end of Tuscawilla Drive. Clear spring fed water flows by two sides of the property. It is exciting to look below the surface of the water and watch a 8" wide blue crab feed on the bottom. Watch the snook, sheephead, and mullet swim by regularly. The manatee love the spring just 200 feet past our home. Enjoy the shade of a large Florida Oak, the beauty of flowered azalea bushes, and lots of flowering plants. You can enjoy a gentle Gulf breeze while standing on the deck of the modular home built on stilts. Bring your boat, jet ski, canoe, kayak and tie up to our boat dock. Bring your fishing poles. Or bring your puzzles. Enjoy and Relax!!!

Close by is Weeki Wachee Spring and the live Mermaid show. Pine Island provides a public Gulf Beach area for picnicing and swimming. Watch the dolphins play while you walk out 1/4 mile and still only be waist to chest deep in water. Go south to Tampa for the activities there or head due east about a two hour drive to Disney and Orlando.

Locally, you can find a variety of restaurants and shopping centers. Everything that you need can be found within six miles from your furnished home.

Owner's Response: Our home is at the end of the street and we have only one neighbor next door. Our neighbors are great and have found our guest to almost always be cordial as well.

Very nice summer stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 nights at this property in July 2017. We brought 2 kids: 4 and 8. The house was clean and welcoming. It is quite big: 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms a kitchen and a summer room type area. It does not have a dishwasher but it was not a problem at all. We did cook quite a bit but we brought plastic plates and cups. We had a minor problem at the house and the owner came same day and fixed the issues very quickly. The house is surrounded by the water, which is so nice. I personally loved watching the water from the window early in the morning or late in the day. We enjoyed the canoe rides ( there was 1 canoe available for us) and the 4 of us could fit no problem. There is beach nearby. It is a $5 entrance fee. Very clean and the water is shallow, no big waves, so we finally had a vacation where we could let the kids just enjoy the water vs. looking at them non stop. There were dolphins nearby and lots of small fish, which was fun. We also went fishing ( 1st time for us) and caught 2 fishes and a crab :). We would definitely come back! Oh, and there is this restaurant Bayport Inn ( it is a restaurant, not a hotel) 7 mins away. It had the biggest oysters and very good seafood.

We'll be back..

  • 4 of 5

Had an amazing time!! Just what we were looking for!! The river is your backyard and we took advantage of it every day!! The kids had a great time and could take the paddleboards out whenever they liked b/c the canal dead ends right around the corner!! We swam with manatees and caught crabs with our bare hands. We went up the river one afternoon and paddled down it during the evening hours. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES ON THE RIVER THAT LATE AND WE HAD A BLAST!! We will def be back!! Will def recommend it!! David made it nice and easy. No headaches. No hassle. No complaints whatsoever!!
