Great location and views

  • 5 of 5

Nice large studio, great views. Happy with the location (not in the total craziness of Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive. Lots of new nice restaurants nearby. Simple furnishings, easy to keep clean.

Nice and easy with great views

  • 4 of 5

We love staying at the Roney condo and this is a very comfy and quiet suite. The studio is clean and simple, with a big balcony that overlooks the ocean. Beach chairs and light-weight table can be put out there on warm days. Unfortunately, no sun hits the balcony, which is good in summer, as it can get very hot here, but this winter, it's been very cold, so we could have used some sun. The owner is very responsive and helpful and has always gotten back to us quickly to resolve any issues. Example: The dishwasher broke down and he ordered and had a new one installed within a week. Wish the bed was bigger, but at least it's comfortable (I think it's a full). Kitchen supplies are very adequate, and the open-plan is great. I had to buy a few utensils because we actually cook here (I assume most vacation renters don't). Vertical blinds are missing a few slats, need fixing. Recliner is old but serviceable. Internet was included. TV Cable service is basic, so reception is kind of blurry, but I think the building is doing an upgrade.

Another reason we love it here: pool has been redone and is perfect now. They just started offering a barbecue there on weekends (for a fee). The hotel ONE, next-door, has a fabulous restaurant and coffee shop (as well as pool-side bar) that offer a 20 percent discount to Roney residents. Across the street are two other restaurants (a pricey one and a more reasonable one, and just two blocks in either direction are more.

Gym hasn't been rebuilt yet, unfortunately, but they seem to be working on it. Meanwhile, Spincycle has a faculty in the building (extra fees) and the boardwalk/promenade is great for biking or jogging (free). Beach is a short walk behind the building and towels are free, umbrellas cost $$..

Across the street is a Walgreens that carries almost anything we needed, and the South Beach Local bus is also kiddiecorner, which takes us around SoBe for 25 cents a ride. It's a10 minute walk to the main drag on Lincoln Road. Library is 2 blocks away, as it the Miami Ballet (good for a couple of min-shows a season) and the Bass Art museum, which has been closed this season. But there are lots of other museums and concerts in South Beach, so it's not hard to find things to do. I love the art classes on Lincoln Road (South Florida Art Center).

Overall, would rent here again, if we could, next Winter.

Paradise on the Beach

  • 5 of 5

My Husband and I spent a wonderful month in this pristine apartment, with a marvelous balcony, overlooking the ocean. The kitchen was perfect for us because I am a dedicated cook. The living room is much more spacious that one can tell from the pictures and we enjoyed every morning first thing having breakfast with only the deep blue ocean horizon and white beach out of the window. At night the moon hung over the ocean and reflected in the surf along with ships sailing in and out of port.

We were so close to Lincoln Road and all of the shops and restaurants that we never even took a taxi at all. It was a comfortable and warm nest right in the center of the South Beach main strip. We have often been to South Beach but never felt so at home.

Wunderschöner Blick aufs Meer

  • 5 of 5
