This oceanfront condo is right on the beach! The Coquina Condo on Crescent Beach was built before the setback rules, so that means this unit (second from the end) is even closer. Compare and you will agree. There is no other condo this close to the beach for the price. It's absolutely the best the beach has to offer!

Summer rentals are one week minimum, Saturday to Saturday only.

Monthly rates available September- May.

We offer excellent discounted rates, flexible arrival and departure, and options for shorter stays during the off-season. We will always try our best to accommodate you!

You may request an immediate booking or send an email inquiry and we will reply with a quote/payment request. We accept online payments through VRBO: credit, debit, or e-check, or via personal check mailed to the owner upon request. Please feel free to email or call with any questions you may have before you book.

This property is managed by the owner. We work hard to constantly upgrade and maintain this popular condo. We are looking for responsible guests who will appreciate the charm of this classic, laid back Florida beach condo with its spectacular view and location; please no high maintenance renters or more than six person occupancy. During your stay, we are best reached by email through VRBO or text message to the mobile phone number provided. Please contact the owner with any questions before or during your stay.

Best View, Beach Access and Pool on the Atlantic:

Experience spectacular oceanfront views from your living area, master bedroom, and spacious private balcony. Fall asleep to the sounds of the surf and wake up to a gorgeous sunrise! Access to the beach is just a few steps down from the oceanfront pool deck and sparkling blue, newly resurfaced pool, There is no long wooden boardwalk. Your toes will be in the sand in less than a minute.

Beach Cottage Comfort and Style:

Step through the front door of this property, and you know you're in for a relaxing stay. Open the sliding glass doors and let the unsurpassed view, the sea breezes and ocean sounds wake up your senses. Lounge on your private second floor balcony any time of day--sunrise is phenomenal. It's just you, the dunes, the beach and the sea. Decorated with original Florida artwork and beach cottage comfort and style, this townhome sets the mood for a perfect laid-back beach vacation.

The spacious and open layout in the living area provides you with that amazing view (even from the kitchen). The dining area offers seating for six--two at the bar and the dining table seats four more. The living area's furnishings include a recliner, a leather couch and club chair, and extra seating for family gatherings. The living area is equipped with a flat screen TV, cable, and DVD player. Wifi internet access is provided. There is also a bathroom with shower on this level.

Upstairs are two very comfortable bedrooms and a full bath with custom tile shower and tub. The master bedroom includes a luxury king-sized bed and provides a stunning oceanfront view and sea breezes through a large picture window. A flat screen TV is here as well. The guest room is flexible with two double beds with pillow top mattresses for up to four people.

Just bring your sense of adventure and a beach towel!

We have equipped the kitchen with all the utensils and gadgets you will need to prepare meals and entertain. There are even pizza trays, baking pans, serving platters for dips and appetizers, and a blender for making tropical drinks or smoothies. There is a small beach cooler in the closet downstairs for your use.

Inside the guest room closet, you will find six boogie boards, four beach chairs and two beach umbrellas, two tennis rackets, some tennis balls, frisbees, and shovels and buckets! You are welcome to use them during your stay. We simply ask that you rinse all the sand off before putting the items neatly away. Also in the guest room, you'll find paperback novels, family DVDs, birding and fishing guides, and books about Florida. Under the TV downstairs, there are board games and sets of cards.

The Coquina - Come Find Out Why It's a Favorite:

The Coquina is a small, well-maintained community with 42 residences, only half of which are available for rental. Guests make The Coquina their home away from home year after year. The building exterior, stairways and balconies were all completely redone a few years ago. The Coquina owners take good care of their property and ask that their guests do too! It is a v-shaped complex and our condo is the second from the North end--there is absolutely nothing between you and the beach!

The Coquina offers a large sparkling blue swimming pool, a smaller one for kids, and an oceanfront deck with comfortable lounges, deck chairs and umbrellas. The pools were resurfaced in 2014. Picture yourself lounging around the pool with the dunes, the wide sandy beach, and the surf all right there!

For a change of pace, watch the sunset over the Intracoastal Waterway while you grill your meal and dine on the building's shared upper deck. The condo also offers tennis and basketball courts.

Crescent Beach: Room to Play!

Surfing, boogie boarding, sailboarding, surf fishing, sea kayaking, bicycling, jogging, kite flying, frisbee and football, shell collecting, exploring--Crescent Beach is open for all these activities but never seems crowded. Crescent Beach is nesting ground to sea turtles, so stay on the lookout and you might see some hatch. Dolphins are also often seen jumping the waves in the distance, and birders can observe many different species of shore birds.

Historic St. Augustine is Minutes Away:

St. Augustine offers many options for visitors. You can take the trolley to explore the city which is full of history, great shopping and excellent restaurants. You can simply stroll the old streets with colonial Florida architecture and discover boutiques, sweet shops, street musicians, and artists, or visit the many tourist attractions including trolley tours, horse and buggy tours, the Old Spanish Fort, the Living History Museum and the Colonial Quarter developed by University of Florida, The Alligator Farm, Ripley Believe It Or Not Museum, evening 'ghost' tours, The Fountain of Youth, Potters Wax Museum, Lightner Museum, Flagler College with its beautiful towers and Tiffany stained-class windows, The Old Jail, The Oldest Schoolhouse, and the Lighthouse and Museum, just to name a few!

Great Restaurants Up and Down the Beach!

You might imagine that there are lots of really good seafood restaurants in St. Augustine and the beaches--and there are. Most are casual and each have a distinctive flavor and style--O'Steen's for fried shrimp, Saltwater Cowboys for fresh catch and frozen drinks right on the Intracoastal at sunset, Oasis for a beachy sports bar with fried shrimp, fish sandwiches, and key lime and peanut butter pie (my daughter's favorite), Florida Cracker Cafe in the historic district for grouper sandwiches and salads and live guitar music after dark, and beachside Sunset Grill for local color, blackened catch of the day, salads, and Minorcan red clam chowder, just blocks from the condo.

There's Paula's for burgers right next to the surfboard rental, Napoli's Pizza for New York style pizza delivered to your door, and Red Frog and McToad's for breakfast or casual dining. In St. Augustine the Columbia Restaurant serves authentic Spanish cuisine in a very memorable atmosphere, La Pentola serves continental cuisine to rave reviews, and Casa Monica hosts a wonderful Sunday brunch and a martini bar. All are located in the historic district. For cocktails on the water, try Conch House and Resort or Kingfish Grill. Both are located alongside marinas, so you can watch the sailboats and yachts. Gypsy Cab Co. continues to please steak lovers.

There are also many more casual restaurants and bars along the A1A bypass along St. Augustine Beach.

There are many other restaurants for steaks, Italian, or vegetarian fare. Find your favorite or pick up some fresh shrimp or fish and grill it yourself on one of the upper deck grills. Expect to eat well while you are here!

Nature, Fishing and Golf at its Best:

Active visitors enjoy boating, sailing, sea kayaking or guided kayak and boat excursions along the Intracoastal Waterway, hiking through the many nature preserves and trails, bird-watching, bike rental, surf board rental and lessons, deep sea fishing and jet skiing. Rent a bike or a surfboard nearby, join a kayaking ecotour, hike through the gardens at Washington State Oaks, fish off Flagler Pier or at Matanzas Inlet, or visit Marineland Research Center to see more marine life up close. Don't miss the climb to the top of the Old Lighthouse--the view is well worth the effort!

Numerous highly-rated golf courses are open to our guests. The St. Augustine area is truly a golfer's paradise.

Major Area Attractions:

Crescent Beach is close to Orlando and its theme parks, Jacksonville, and Daytona Beach, all of which have airports convenient for out of town visitors.

About Lauren Richardson

Thank you for visiting! The owners Barry and Lauren Richardson welcome you to this spectacular property which we have enjoyed for many years. We are knowledgeable about the area, so please let us know what you are hoping to experience on your vacation, and we will most likely be able to point you in the right direction. Our children, Caroline and Whitney, have fond memories of vacations with their friends at this special condo at wonderful Crescent Beach. Over the years, many changes have taken place, but The Coquina remains a cherished destination for our family and many of our guests who return year after year.

Lauren Richardson purchased this condo in 1973

Why Lauren Richardson chose Florida North East

Barry's mother, Caroline, chose this property on Crescent Beach as her personal retreat many years ago. Crescent Beach provides a healthy and family-friendly nature experience. The proximity to St. Augustine adds opportunity for historical and cultural exploration. There's no better place for recreation, rejuvenation, and relaxation. For all these reasons, we keep this retreat in the family and offer it to others to enjoy!

What makes this condo unique

Our favorite times at the Coquina are sunrise and sunset. We love walks on the beach at dusk, especially after a storm. Take in an awesome sunset over the Intracoastal Waterway, fall asleep to the sounds of the waves, or wake up to an ocean sunrise from your bedroom window. The pristine, wide beach at Crescent Beach is perfect for all your beach activities, and the natural beauty of the dunes and the shoreline are well-preserved. Bird watch, ride a bike, fly a kite, learn to surf, go fishing, play golf or tennis, then take a break and head into St. Augustine for history, culture, restaurants and shopping. For a true 100% beachfront experience and comfortable, casual Florida style, and so many world-class destinations nearby, we don't think you can find a better condo than this one!

Guestbook comments from the owner

From our guest book:

Sadly, last day of our vacation and packing to leave. We absolutely loved it--our little beach cottage. We loved the art decor. It was absolutely charming and so comfortable, but most of all the spectacular views of the ocean from everywhere in this place! We had a very relaxing and peaceful and fun stay here! Disney World and Universal studios, shopping, morning walks on the beach, collecting shells, sightseeing at the spectacular historic district and then last night our "seafood night" out. This was a very memorable time we won't soon forget. Thank you.

The view made the condo

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay the ocean view was amazing, the condo was quiet and the pool area clean. The condo was nice and was average cleanwise.. It would be better with some updates like no wallpaper or carpet.. We cooked and the kitchen had what we needed. Loved the extra cleaning supplies they had there. Overall it was a nice relaxing weekend.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

We loved how close we were to the ocean and the pool. The beach was quiet and at night with the windows closed we could hear the waves crashing the shore. The laundry facility was in the complex and not in the condo. It it was well maintained and clean. The condo was comfortable and we would definitely recommend staying here. The grocery store was less than 10 mins away and great restaurants were less than 15 mins away. Downtown St Augustine was 20 mins away. It was easy to get everywhere and we loved being on a more quiet beach.

Amazing views of the ocean, beach, and sunrises!

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year I have stayed at this condo....it is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean. It is very comfortable with everything you need supplied for you. The beds are very comfortable. I spent many hours walking on the quiet beach or just sitting on the deck enjoying the view and sounds of the ocean waves.

The condo is situated right on the beach which is never crowded! I will be returning!

Nice Condo with a great view!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this condo for only a few days. We had everything we needed - and especially appreciated the beach chairs! The view from the balcony was the best we have ever had. Right on the beach with beautiful sunrises pouring right into the condo. We would stay there again if we revisit the area!
