Anna will be your host during your stay at the beach house. She belongs to a 5 generation Vancouver Island family that has a long history of fishing in the Pacific Ocean. Her great grandfather was the lighthouse keeper in 1860 for the 1st lighthouse on the West Coast of British Columbia. Anna lived at the north end of the island in Winter Harbour until she was 8 before moving to Campbell River. Anna has rented her beautiful beach house for over 8 years. She has an exceptional eye for quality and as an accomplished chef, she is an excellent resource for shopping and dining in the area.
Anna Cox purchased this house in 1994
Great Location 5 minutes from down town.
1500 square Feet of Cedar deck.
We were a family of 5, my mother, my husband and my 2 children (3 and 6 years old) travelling from Trinidad. We absolutely fell in love with that property on the sea, so beautiful inside out. Very clean and welcoming, fresh flowers upon your arrival, you felt in a 5 star resort! The owner was so welcoming, as she saw us coming with no much warm clothes, she immediately ran into her house, and came back with sweaters and warm coats! Also she made sure to have plenty toys for my children, they were delighted! All these kind gestures were very much appreciated. The house is so beautifully decorated inside, it really makes you feel in holiday without having to walk outside!
We also enjoyed lighting up camp fire outside where the children would roast marshmallows!
Anna Cox was also so helpful in telling us where to eat, where to buy quality products, and all the different trails to visit plus directing you to the best tour operator for whale watching!
We went with Go Wild and it was an incredible experience, we saw Orcas, Humpback whales, eagles and sea lions! All in one day! The eagles would also stand in front of the beach house, you can experience wildlife right in front!
We saw black bears walking along the river as well! This holiday was everything we could dream of! We highly recommend Campbell River as there is so much to do and experience, and I ABSOLUTELY recommend Anna Cox's beach house! The BEST PLACE to stay and I can't say it enough!!! We will definitely be back to this house xxx
If you are looking for the perfect place to unwind and have a great holiday... This is it! From whale watching, watching the cruise ships from the master bedroom, ocean breezes as you lay in bed, catching crabs, cozy campfires, and amazing soaker tubs! This place was exactly what we were looking for! Anna is an amazing host and there to help you if needed.
Within minutes of arriving my wife was relaxed and the kids were right home playing next to the ocean. Every aspect of this property was fantastic, from the location (close to town) to the peace and quite of sitting next to the water. The local fishing provided salmon for the year in our freezer and the pier offered a great variety of activities and food. I would recommend this to any family looking to get away and reconnect.
Beginning with our arrival on the evening of our first night's stay we all knew this was going to be a wonderful home to share for our ten day stay in Campbell River. The door was open and a cool breeze greeted us after a long day of travel. The home has all the amenities you could ask for and more, it seemed as if "if you wanted anything, it was there, you only had to look in the right closet or drawer". We had several BBQ's in the backyard, the local fish is wonderful, and dinner was served on the beach front deck while enjoying the sight of local fishing boats returning from the days fishing and, of course, cruise ships heading to or from Alaska. The house is comfortable and spacious, great for groups to gather around the kitchen or dining room table or lounge in the comfortable living room or on the very inviting back deck.
Anna, the owner, was very helpful answering questions even before we arrived and is an excellent resource for shopping and dining in the area. I would recommend this property as a great place to stay while in Campbell River.
We stayed at the beach house for most of the fall until the end of January. The beach house was definitely home for us and leaving was not an easy part. This is the perfect rental in all ways. It has everything anyone would need and more. Beautiful, spacious, clean, zen, cozy, amazing view, quiet, very well equipped, simply the perfect rental. Campbell River is a lovely place to be, unwind and live the simple healthy life and being at the beach house made our stay even more agreeable. Also, spending the cold days there has its own unforgettable and unique charm with the fireplace, wine, the relaxing view and water sounds. Simply wish we can go back soon!
On arriving home to the Sunshine Coast Queensland Australia, our holiday on Vancouver Island for the month of May is a wonderful memory.
Definitely a highlight of our trip was a week staying in Anna's beach house. The house provided plenty of room as we were holidaying with our two adult son's and two of their friends. Delicious meals were prepared in the kitchen and on the outside BBQ from local produce; freshly caught fish, the freshest prawns we have ever experienced from the pier and lamb and organic chicken from the Farmers Markets. We had the choice of eating outdoors during the day and indoors at night. Also enjoyed having an outdoor and indoor fire, a novelty for us Queenslanders!
We were travelling with bikes and the location was perfect to explore the area. One adventure was wheeling the bikes onto the ferry and riding around Quadra Island. Another was catching local Cod out at sea. We became part of the local community by joining in with the river walkers in the Elk Falls Provincial Park.
Thank you Anna for sharing your beautiful house and help with information and advice of the area.
