This is our second home.
It has been in our family for many years and we have regularly upgraded it for our own use. In 2013 we completely renovated the master bathroom which now includes a large two-person shower with an electronically controlled skylight and a window looking out to Cape Cod Bay.
We make the house available for a few weeks a year when we are not using it ourselves. For the most part, the same guests return each season.
Our home has unique views from every room with the exception of the third bedroom. The master bedroom, second bedroom, living room and sun porch provide spectacular views of Cape Cod Bay. Freeman's Pond lies next to the kitchen and the sun room.
Please note: If you see this listing anywhere other than on VRBO, it is not a legitimate posting.
Robbins Hill Beach and Paine's Creek Beach are both a quarter mile walk down the street.
The views of Cape Cod Bay are unobstructed and, on most days, the far side of Cape Cod is visible. The land between the house and water is protected wetlands.
Situated at one corner of a two thirds-of-an-acre lot, the house is approached from a U-shaped driveway which opens to the ocean view.
The home is not 'kid safe' and is probably not suitable for toddlers or smaller children. For slightly older kids though, it is ideal. There are protected yards all around the house and Robbins Hill Beach is a perfect one for children.
Most of the neighbors during the summer are owners although a few renters are on the street as well.
We love it. You will too.

I really don't know where to start. How about with Paul, the owner of the home. So patient and helpful. It almost seemed too good to be true, but it was. So easy to communicate with. When we pulled up and went inside, we realized that we nailed it. The home is not only perfect, and in a perfect location, but it was so well stocked, and it was spotless inside. You can tell that Paul and Barbara take a lot of pride in their home and it showed. They have this binder with all the information one could need to make sure that all your questions are answered. While searching for a place, I read that they had done a renovation to the master bedroom and bath. Let me tell you, the renovation is beautiful. That master bedroom has an unbelievable view of Cape Cod bay, and so does the 2 person shower. You can shower with a clear view of the Bay through the barn door window. The bathroom seat is automated and heated with some other features that you don't see everyday. My 3 yo daughter told me when we returned home that our bathroom was broken because it wasn't like the one on vacation. There is a switch right next to the bed to control the blinds. I mean, all these little things really made a difference. The views from all around the home were unbelievable. The way the home is set back a bit makes it possible to have the best unobstructed views of both the Bay and the pond. We would have dinner in the 4 season room that has a great view of Freemans pond and the Bay. Oh yes, a Weber grill that is piped into the house so you never have to worry about an empty tank. Usually when you rent a home, the grill is a some bottom of the line grill that's falling apart. This was top of the line, clean, and ready to use. We grilled at least 4 times that week. The best part of all was the proximity to Paines Creek Beach. We were lucky enough to have a great week weather wise and went to the beach pretty much everyday. It was a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Extremely kid friendly and not very crowded beach. There is also a little foot bridge that leads right to the beach as well, which we would take when we walked down in the evening with our drinks and camera for the beautiful sunsets. My 2 girls ran for miles and collected shells during low tide. A couple of nights we would walk 10 minutes up to Kate's Seafood and ice cream for dinner. It really made things so convenient. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. See you next year :)
We stayed here for a week in July and the house made our vacation perfect. The location was quiet and a short walk to the beach..... An easy to drive to anything else you need. The views from the house immediately made us relax. The owners were prompt in responding to any questions we had and left a helpful manual that tells you anything you need to know. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and the home was warmly decorated. Beautiful home for a great vacation!
This is a perfect house for a relaxing week on Cape Cod. We rented the house with our two teenage sons in August. The house is in excellent shape and well stocked. It certainly does not have the feel of a rental property as it has obviously been upgraded and been well maintained over the years. There is something for everyone. The beach is within walking distance. However, we often preferred to linger on the deck or in the sunroom admiring the ocean an pond views. Nauset Beach, which has large waves is a short drive away. Although, the house is close to a variety of restaurants, we usually had dinner at the house utilizing the excellent Weber Grill. There are also golf courses nearby, we had excellent rounds at Cranberry Valley in Harwich and the Captains Course in Brewster. We also used the bikes that are provided with the rental . However, as the bike path is approximately 3 miles from the house, you should not plan on having young children ride bicycles to the path..
I've never stayed at a vacation rental and felt grateful to the owners for sharing it with me, but that's exactly how I felt when I stayed at this incredible place. Everyone in our family of five (including three kids from 15-22) squealed with excitement at our good fortune as room after room presentend one happy surprise after another. There was plenty of space for everyone to be together or spread out in different rooms/corners with a good book. The house was in perfect condition and thoughtfully stocked. The views from inside and outside of the house are just beautiful - the pictures don't lie, but they don't do it justice, either. I have not been that relaxed in years. We're planning to visit again next year!
I have been coming to Cape Cod for 45 years, and for many years owned a house in South Harwich which my late wife and I thought was perfect. Well, this cottage is even better, and its view -- over the tidal pond, the scrubland (with the occasional deer), the Brewster flats, and the broad expanse of Cape Cod Bay to Wellfleet -- is unparalleled. The house is immaculate and thoughtfully furnished, so that every room is comfortable and welcoming. It is a house where everything seems to be just right for its occupants, whether they want to sit and enjoy the view, enjoy each other's conversation, or even cook (if the excellent area area restaurants are not good enough). I especially enjoy the wildlife --the resident fox and the huge variety of birds -- but there is much for every taste to enjoy. My son, who is a New Englander to the core but lives in the middle west, says it all when he arrives: "Now I am content."
We've spent a week at this house every year for at least 10 years and we adore it. There is nothing about it that says "rental"--it feels like home, only with much better views! Everything is always in perfect condition, so you don't have to sacrifice comfort for location. And the location is amazing. A short walk to one of the most beautiful spots on the Bay, where you can walk out a mile on the sandbars when the tide is out, and toast one gorgeous sunset after another.
There is a great deal to do in the area, but it's tempting just to sit in the sunroom and veg out. We are very fond of many establishments along 6A in either direction: the Cape Playhouse, Brewster Ladies' Library (which has a huge selection of videos), the Brewster Bookstore, the Antiques Center in Dennis, Scargo Pottery, the Brewster General Store...You can go for a lobster-roll cruise at Sesuit, or a paddle-boat ride in Nickerson Park. Biking is delightful on the local roads or the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
The best thing about the house is that you can spend a lot of time there without ever going near a highway, mall, or chain store. Brewster is remarkably unchanged from the Cape I remember from my childhood, some time back. If you want a tranquil retreat from a busy life, this is the place.
