About the property

Apartment, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The apartment is located in one of the best neighborhoods of Manhattan. Within walking distance to Central Park, Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History and subway stations. A peaceful, relaxing neighborhood close to all of the best in NYC. Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, supermarkets, laundromats, and pharmacies all within two blocks.

This Studio apartment is located on West 69th Street between Columbus Ave and Broadway in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and linens are provided. The apartment is approximately 375 square feet. The apartment is a ground floor unit in an historic brownstone building. The unit is equipped with cable TV and internet access.

Sleeps two adults comfortably on a queen sized bed and can accommodate an additional two children on a pull out 'day bed'.

The other apartments in the building are occupied by long-term tenants, some who have lived in their apartments for over twenty years. It is a quiet building and not a place to stay if you want to party and play loud music. I own the building and use the studio unit with my family when we visit the city.

Memorable Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

Our kids are still talking about their time in the Big Apple and Barry's studio had a big part in helping make this Spring Break trip a truly memorable one. Situated in one of the loveliest NY neighborhoods, the apt was comfortable and convenient to many of our family's points of interest: American Natural History Museum, Central Park, Metropolitan Museum of Art, the "metro train" (according to our three-year old son), Magnolia Bakery, and Lincoln Center. Needless to say, we walked everywhere and the "Metro Train" was our main mode of transportation. The neighbors were quite friendly, always ready with a quick "hello", "good morning", and "how are you".

Barry is one of the most attentive hosts I've met here on VRBO and his thoughtfulness extends to the maintenance and upkeep of the apt. Apart from guides to the UWS in the apt, Barry also thoughtfully answered our questions/concerns throughout the trip and was open to accommodating our requests. The beds were comfortable, there were extra towels and bed linens in the dresser, and enough plates/utensils/cups for us to use. We ended up eating out a bit more than planned so did not use the pots and pans to cook but it was a comfort to know they are there for us when we need them.

Parking was the only glitch of our trip but that is to be expected because NYC is notorious for its parking, or lack thereof. We were able to find a great deal online where we could park at a garage for only $35 a day. My husband did have to go to the garage every day to drop off the coupon but the walk was mere minutes. The neighborhood was safe enough to walk even in the earliest or latest hours of the day.

Overall, my kiddos enjoyed experiencing NY like a New Yorker and cannot wait to come back. Hopefully, we can stay here again. Thank you, Barry for helping make this Spring Break a wonderfully memorable one.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and we are happy that you would chosse to stay at our apartment on a return visit to NYC. In helping guests decide weather they would be happy in our apartment, we provide complete and accurate information on our apartment listing, including the size of the unit. The apartment is considerably larger than the standard Manhattan hotel room. Ideally, the apart is best suited for a couple - for families it works but is tight.

Barry was supper accomidating, And A great communicator. The apt was clean and had everything we needed. Beds were good. It was safe and convenient to a lot of restaurants, stores, pharmacy, groceries, and Subway. On street parking and nice covered parking garage we did use. Was only $95 for 3/24 hours days if you dont want to use your car. It definitely made our NY trip memorable and more enjoyable. We cant wait to stay again.

Authentic and surprising in all the right ways...

  • 5 of 5

We rented Barry's apartment for a long weekend in December. First, the location is terrific. Convenient to everything in Manhattan, this UWS neighborhood has a ton of charm and character, and is just peaceful enough. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The building is secure and the area is safe. The apartment itself is a perfect little place to unwind after long days out on the town. Within a few days, I felt like I was coming home to MY neighborhood. The only negative is that there is occasional building noise from the other tenants coming and going, but you are going to get this anywhere and it was never more than a few seconds at a time.

Most importantly, I was a little skeptical of using VRBO but my experience with Barry was top notch. He was accessible from my very first inquiry and answered every question promptly along the way, while providing great accommodations. Staying here again would be an easy decision.

AMAZING! Perfect location, Perfect Owner, Perfect Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This ground floor studio apartment is perfect! The location is amazing. You are close to the subway, stores, groceries, Central Park, The Lincoln Center, and anything you need. Our family of 4, including two teenagers spent 4 days at the apartment and were very comfortable. I was able to cook full meals in the cute kitchen. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space. The apartment was clean, in a safe neighborhood, and quiet. We felt like we were living in the city! Remember you are in New York City so you may occasionally hear some street noise. Barry was so helpful and answered all our questions even when I overloaded his VRBO email. He was so kind and I so appreciate his very reasonable rate on this amazing apartment. I hope we get to stay again soon. Also, we drove from Virginia and had our car so we found a lot on 64th that if you make reservations is only $25 a day. You can go to and find lots anywhere in NYC. This was perfect for us to make sure our car was safe and we did not have to move it during our stay. Thank you Barry for giving this family a great Christmas vacation!
