Overview

About the property

Apartment, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

The apartment is located in one of the best neighborhoods of Manhattan. Within walking distance to Central Park, Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History and subway stations. A peaceful, relaxing neighborhood close to all of the best in NYC. Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, supermarkets, laundromats, and pharmacies all within two blocks.

This Studio apartment is located on West 69th Street between Columbus Ave and Broadway in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and linens are provided. The apartment is approximately 375 square feet. The apartment is a ground floor unit in an historic brownstone building. The unit is equipped with cable TV and internet access.

Sleeps two adults comfortably on a queen sized bed and can accommodate an additional two children on a pull out 'day bed'.

The other apartments in the building are occupied by long-term tenants, some who have lived in their apartments for over twenty years. It is a quiet building and not a place to stay if you want to party and play loud music. I own the building and use the studio unit with my family when we visit the city.

Great Fun in NY

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is exactly as described in the written description and photos. The kitchen and the bathroom are very small and do make some things a challenge. So why did I give the apartment a five star rating? Location, location, location. In addition, the apartment was very clean and the owner was very easy to work with throughout the process.

This was our first trip to New York so we planned to utilize the subway a lot. There are three subway stations within three blocks of the house connecting you to the red, blue, and orange lines which will get you to most places to the city. There are lots of restaurants (variety of cuisines and prices) within walking distance, Central Park is four blocks away, and the neighborhood is very safe.

I found three things very helpful as new visitor to New York:

1. Download the NYC Subway app. It is an incredibly helpful tool. Practice at home before using it in NY.

2. Consider buying the City Pass. I stayed in NY for a week. I bought a 5-day pass and saved a significant amount of money on all the places we visited.

3. Buy a 7-day metro pass if you plan on using public transportation ($33). Each time you enter a station it is $3.00 ... very convenient.

If I return I will definitely consider renting the apartment again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We completely loved the little apartment! It was only a couple blocks from the subway, clean and just right to crash our heads at night after a long day of exploring the city! Barry was great and allowed us to store our luggage in the morning until our check-in time later in the afternoon so we did not have to lug all around the city with our luggage. Highly recommend and will for sure stay here again on our next trip to NYC!

Fantastic host and location very comfy

  • 5 of 5

Barry's place was home away from home ! Perfect location away from the hustle and bustle but close enough when you need to venture downtown. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The apartment is definitely bigger then a typical NYC hotel room in fact it was bigger then I expected , it comfortably fit my party of 4 which included 2 teenage girls . Barry is the best communicator and very accommodating. I will definitely try and book his place again when we return to NYC , it will be my go to and highly recommended !

Thanks Barry !!

Nice apartment in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We have nothing but good things to say about this apartment and for the Upper West Side. It's convenient to Central Park, subway, Lincoln Center, tons of restaurants, a short walk to the Hudson River Park, and so much more! The apartment has everything needed for a comfortable stay and the owner was very helpful with food and shopping suggestions. We will stay here again on our next trip to NYC!
