This two bedroom and full bath residence provides you with ample space for relaxation after a long day of activities. The Alpen Den is located in the walk out lower level of the Alpen Haus (also on VRBO), has private access and offers a master bedroom with a king bed, walk in closet and separate outdoor access; plus a second bedroom with a king bed which converts to 2 twins if desired. There is a fully equipped kitchen which provides you the freedom of eating in if you’re unable to muster the strength to try one of the many fabulous restaurants in the area. Relax in the living room and enjoy cable TV, wireless internet, or simply unwind with a good book. A private patio along Four Mile Creek is the perfect place to view Mt. Sopris during the day or star gaze at night.

The Alpen Den is a short drive to Glenwood Springs and many of the attractions the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer. Plus it is only about 10 minutes down the road from Sunlight Mountain Resort. Located in the serene hills just outside town, The Alpen Den is the perfect spot for wildlife viewing and stargazing. Why stay in town when you can enjoy this relaxing retreat which shares nearly 6 acres of wooded private property along Four Mile Creek. Accessible year round, The Alpen Den has it all.

Glenwood Springs is truly a wonderful vacation spot with all its available activities. We are close to alpine and cross country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, biking, rafting, fishing, shopping, or just soaking in the world famous hot springs... you’ll never run out of things to do! We are a pet friendly property and welcome both short and long terms stays.

We also own The Alpen Haus, The Bear's Den, and Casa Del Sol. They are all on the same property. Rent multiple unites to accommodate larger parties.

***Special Note for winter guests - All wheel drive or four wheel drive autos are required when staying in December, January, and February. Difficult conditions may also exist in November and March. We have the driveway professionally plowed and generally do not have problems. However, inappropriate cars can and do get stuck as elevation changes exist on the driveway as well as the possibility of slick ice and deep snow. Stuck cars do cause problems as the driveway services three separate properties. You are required to provide information about the cars that will be driven during the winter. Guests that become stuck are responsible for all associated costs.***

This property is special because of its location and unique design. It is close to town but also feels rural. You can adjust your plans easily as it is near many different activities. Awesome snow at Sunlight...10 minutes away. Want to go river rafting...10 minutes away. Awesome snow in Aspen...45 minutes away. Want to going for a bike ride...leave from the house or drive a short distance to some awesome trails and paths.

Nice secluded location

Great place to stay!

I would recommend this property to anyone. Close to town but felt secluded and peaceful. It was in good shape, clean and all supplies were there for our use. Our group was a large group so we had this property and also the Alpen Haus and Bear's Den. All three accommodated 16 people very well. Mark, the owner, was super to work with and made this first time VRBO user feel good about using it.

We actually stayed at the Alpen Haus, it became open and Mark offered us to stay there, really nice!

We loved the Alpen Haus! Would have stayed forever! It was really comfortable with all the amenities you need. We really enjoyed the Foosball and ping pong table. It's big and spacious, loved the outdoor patio area. We almost didn't want to leave to go to the hot springs. Mark, the owner was very nice and easy to work with, answered all our questions. Thanks Mark, we will be back!
