Bar Harbor privacy

  • 5 of 5

Very nice clean and private rental in Bar Harbor. Ten minute walk to downtown and the Island Explorer bus service and trails leading to several hikes including Cadillac Mountain. Large and spacious with room to stretch out. Only down side is you have to pass through one bedroom to get to the other. Private yard away from the crowds. Would love to stay again.

Loved Devon's Cottage!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I love Bar Harbor. We have visited numerous times but have always stayed at a hotel. This year we were traveling with our 16 month old son so we knew we would need a bigger space., and we loved Devon’s Cottage.

When we arrived the space was super clean, warm, and inviting. The cottage is in a great location and we were able to use the park across the street and easily walk into town. Also, having laundry in the unit was very helpful (allowing us to pack less).

Devon was super helpful our entire trip, even finding us a babysitter one evening so we could enjoy “adult time” downtown.

The second bedroom was perfect for our son. If you are traveling with a bigger clan note the second bedroom is off the master and separated only by French doors. As I said this didn’t bother us but something to be aware of.

Our only minor concern. The AC upstairs is by a floor unit that hangs out the window. The unit kept getting filled with water and would beep loudly in the middle of the night and shut off. You would need to remove the pan of water and turn back on. This happened every 3 hours. Some nights we just left the window open but it could be a pain if it was hott night.

If traveling with toddler:

Bring baby gates. We brought our own because we saw the stairwell in the pictures. I’m glad we did because otherwise we would have been walking up and down the stairs all day (our son loves the stairs)

Great location/base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia

  • 5 of 5

Has everything one needs and for anything else, a 5-10 min walk to the supermarket. 10 min walk to the Village Park - right in the center of Bar Harbor. Has AC which we didn't need/use. Weber gas grill on the deck. Acadia National Park is a 10-min drive away. Maps/guidebooks are useful and written by one of the owners!

Comfortable for family of three or four

  • 5 of 5

Location is everything! I had my two teenaged children and the three of us made the single bathroom work. The park is close, we walked to Bar Harbor every day, and only locked ourselves out once. No worries, the owner let us in within 10 minutes.

Nice apartment with a perfect location

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was perfect for our trip to MDI. It's very close to the park entrance and walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. The living space itself is great. The master bedroom is beautiful with vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light. The kitchen is large and well stocked with pots and cooking utensils. And we had use of the garage to park our car, which was an added bonus. The host was very welcoming and helpful. She met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the apartment. She was available if we needed anything but gave us all the space we needed to enjoy our vacation. All in all this place was great! We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in the cottage. Lots of room for the 3 of us (couple with a 5 yr old). Clean and had all of the essentials. Kitchen was well equipped and great for making our own meals when we didn't want to eat out, including breakfast, local seafood and grilling- convenient and saved us a lot. Nice to have our own garage for parking and a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack a week's worth of clothes. Huge master bedroom with a smaller kids room off the master worked well for us and the beds were comfortable. Having the only bathroom downstairs wasn't a big deal. Close to downtown so that we could walk into town and avoid the traffic and hassle of staying downtown. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
