Aloha! I am from the Bay Area. I was born and raised in San Francisco. Visited Oahu & Maui in 1980 for the first time. Fell in love with the Hawaiian islands. Met my husband who is from Berkeley in 1977 and we married in Oahu in 1991 and we just celebrated 26 years of marriage. We have 3 Teenagers 19, twin 16 year olds and live in Pleasant Hill, Ca. Ko Olina has been our second home. My children have been on the beaches of Oahu since they were babies. We would spend Easter, Summer and Christmas in Waikiki & Ko Olina. My children were all born in July, so month long Summers in Ko Olina were amazing and a celebration of their lives. Their is something magical and serene about Ko Olina. Sunsets at the Lagoons stay with you forever in your mind. The memories of the kids playing in the sand, learning how to surf, bodysurf, skate boarding, golf, tennis, collecting seashells by the Marina, and creating life long friendships are what keeps us forever OHANA.

Why Owner chose Kapolei
We were on Easter break in 2004 vacationing in Waikiki and we visited with our cousin and his family in Ko Olina. They had just moved into their new home in the gated community of the Coconut Plantation on the Resort. The home was decorated with beautiful Marble tile, luxurious furnishings, plantation shutters and Palm trees surrounding the property. We were so happy for them. In the Winter of 2004 we sold 2 properties in the Bay Area and wanted to buy a home in Hawaii to summer in July every year and rent it out for the rest of the year. So we called our cousin to recommend us where to buy in Ko Olina as we loved his home very much. He said to buy his home as he had just listed it because his job was relocating him. So the beautiful home became ours in March of 2005.

For your shopping needs and entertainment you are a short drive to Costco/Gas, Macy's, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Ross Stores, Foodland, Safeway, Wet n Wild Waterpark, Kapolei Theaters, Restaurants, and Fun Factory Arcade.

Thawing out Alaskan
Words can not do this unit justice. It is a fabulous unit! We stayed here in Feb 2011 and fell in love! We have stayed at KoOlina before, but this is by far our favorite place. It is very quiet! We tried to rent it for 2012, but due to change in management we never heard back. We have already rented in Maui, or I assure you we would be statying here! Without a doubt, we will be coming here again!
With the few pictures they have posted, it is hard to see how magnificent this unit is. The master suite is divine! We enjoyed the huge walk-in shower. In our opinion, you do not need the huge bathtub. We never used it. The second bathroom upstairs worked fabulous for our family. The kids enjoyed the double sinks. It was also great having the shower and toilet seperated by the door. It works great for people sharing a bathroom! We also never used the kitchen table. Between the 3 lanais and the breakfast bar, we had no need to eat at the table. This unit is spectacular!!
The unit is very centrally located! It is a short walk to the ABC store to get all your vacationing needs. One of the pools is directly outside the back door. My children loved that! I can not say enough about this unit. My husband said not to post a review. He does not want anyone else finding out about this place. Just make sure you leave a month open for us! We will be returning soon!
