About Customer Service

About the owner: In 2003 we were living in Atlanta and were invited to Blue Ridge to visit a friend. That was a momentous getaway because the next weekend we were back up buying a lot so that we could build our second home and enjoy for ourselves the beauty of the mountains. At the same time, we were building Urban Retreat for our personal home. After living in Urban Retreat for 3 years we made the final move to Blue Ridge where we now reside. During those years, we established our property management and vacation rental company when we discovered how successful our second home was for vacation rental. We were never able to use it! After purchasing a couple of lots on the Toccoa River and building a home there, we began to manage other cabins in the area. What began as a lark has turned into a successful company servicing 25+ homes in our portfolio. We are dedicated to providing our guests luxury accommodations and friendly service. Our goal is to exceed our guests' expectations again and again.

Why the Owner Chose Atlanta:

We love Urban Retreat and look forward to staying there whenever we can in order to get our 'city fix', as we call it. The location could not be more ideal for all there is to do in Atlanta. Every time we stay in our home we make sure to eat dinner or brunch at 4th and Swift, walk and bike along the Beltway or play in the park with our kids. We visit the Fernbank Museum several times a year, eat at great foodie restaurants located all around our home - be sure to eat at Pure on North Highlands, Ria's Bluebird Cafe on Memorial Drive for the best breakfast in the southeast. Shopping in the area is fantastic and convenient.

The Unique Benefits at this House:

Urban Retreat is located in the highly sought-after Old Fourth Ward district - within walking distance to the Park and Beltline Trails, 4th and Swift (our favorite restaurant), and WholeFoods, CVS, and TJ Maxx. We enjoy events at the Fox Theatre, which is 2 miles away. We used to bike and walk at Piedmont Park with the kids (which is a couple of miles away), who played in the extensive playground, but now we just cross Glen Iris and walk less than a mile to a GREAT playground with the most modern play equipment around, along with fountains to play in - so bring a bathing suit, kids! Shopping in Atlantic Station is nearby, as well as Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza. The State Capitol is minutes away, where we have enjoyed spending time there teaching our kids about the legislative process by paging opportunities in the House of Representatives, as well as exploring their great museums. Turner Field is conveniently close, where we have enjoyed watching the Braves. In the evenings we walk across Glen Iris to get to 4th and Swift and enjoy a great meal and afterwards, a leisurely walk home. Sit on the front porch in the porch swing and enjoy a glass of wine to top the evening off. There is so much to do in this area, we never stay long enough to enjoy all there is to enjoy!

Great house and even better location

  • 5 of 5

Our group of three loved the house and the location was perfect. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed and we appreciated the super comfortable beds. We discovered the wonderful Ponce city Market which was a short walk away. This was our first trip to Atlanta and we debated renting a car. We tried Uber and were very happy with our choice. We never had to wait for more than 5 minutes from this area. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful home. We'll be back next year!

Beautiful home; great Atlanta location.

  • 5 of 5

We visited Atlanta to attend a basketball tournament at the World Congress Center. Our group of five very much enjoyed staying in this beautiful well furnished home. It boasts two master suites, an uncommon plus. Very quiet location. We did not rent a car and found it both easy and inexpensive to Uber to the Aquarium, World Congress Center, and many excellent restaurants. The only drawback was a small TV in an enclosed entertainment center in the family room that was tough for more than two people at a time to watch. We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend this home to others.

Second Time is the Charm!

  • 5 of 5

This was my second time booking this house and once again, it was perfection. We had privacy, quiet, and my guests had an amazing time. The house is gorgeous!!! Expect the most incredible beds, beautiful living spaces, and a fully appointed kitchen. I am already planning my return trip because I can't stay away. This really is a dream house. It's hard to leave! Thank you for letting us stay!

Loved this Home-!!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my son in his family and it was wonderful-!

Plenty of room for us all and we taught my granddaughter how to play a song on the piano.

The bed were very comfortable.

This is a chefs kitchen for sure.

We spent most of our time in the kitchen/family room area.

You can tell this is an upcoming area by all the business close by.

You are within 1 mile of everything.

This is a very well done well decorated home.

I've never seen a place so clean inside.

The porch would be wonderful but it was so hot we didn't spend much time there.

You won't be disappointed.

Gorgeous and spacious home on the edge of midtown

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Urban Retreat, to celebrate our son/grandson's graduation from GA Tech. The location was perfect for the weekend, and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the front porch and using the kitchen/sitting room. My wife and I also walked down to and along the Beltline and enjoyed that experience. The only downside is that for seniors (we had 3 grandparents) the height of the beds can be a challenge as well as the deceptive top step to the second floor. That aside, truly outstanding and could not have been more comfortable and well furnished.

Owner's Response: Dear Dave, Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and for leaving a review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay Urban Retreat so much, and that you were able to take advantage of the great location. The BeltLine is definitely a highlight! It's good to know you were able to see that area, as well. Thank you also for your feedback about the beds and the top step to the second floor. We are always happy to hear how we can make our guests' stays even better, and we will look into improving both for all future guests. Thank you again, and congratulations to your son/grandson!

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful, clean, well-maintained and tastefully decorated home. Great access to downtown attractions, and a nice collection of funky restaurants and shops, as well as Emory U, within a short drive. We stayed during a cold snap in February and had some trouble getting the thermostat to recognize that we needed some heat. But otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Urban Retreat! The location does make it very easy to enjoy the city's attractions, and it's great to hear you were able to do so. We apologize for the issues with the heat. The Nest thermostat sticks to a temperature once it's set, and in order to get it to go higher, the level has to be turned up. We hope it wasn't too big of an inconvenience for you! Please come back and see us next time you are in the area!
