Even better than expected

My sister found this rental online, and since it turned out so great, she has not let me forget that she gets all the credit. We go on a sister trip every year, and we almost did not go with this rental since it was about 20 minutes south of Asheville. What we did not realize was that we would love the area. From the time we turned onto the tree-covered gravel road (with the barn on one side and a pasture with horses on the other), we knew we had made the right choice. And the house was even more wonderful than the photos. So much room and equipped with anything we might need or want - including a wonderful basket of snacks left on the counter. They even had a French press in addition to a coffee pot. And the beds were extremely comfortable. Brian was also prompt to answer any of our texts and graciously met us at the pasture to introduce us to his most interesting animals - including Darwin the camel.

Fletcher had good restaurants, groceries, and anything we might need, but Hendersonville which was only a few minutes south, was wonderful with a charming downtown area with great restaurants. They were having an apple festival on the week-end we were there, which was an extra bonus. I feel sure we might not have made the short trip to Dupont to take the easy hike to the waterfalls had we stayed in Asheville. But we were still very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore, and downtown Asheville. We even attended a play at the Community Theatre which was very professionally done. I could not think of a more perfect place to stay.

What a fabulous location!

We really enjoyed our stay at this house and loved touring the property to see the animals and the unusual plants the owner is growing. The owner was gracious enough to give us a tour and it was truly delightful. The house was perfect for our girl trip and felt right at home. Beds were very comfortable. Ingles grocery store had everything we needed, as well as the kitchen, to prepare gourmet dinners in the evening. The house was adorable and we sat out on the porch for coffee. We will be back again and want to stay in this location. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to take your camera.

Perfect in every way.

  • 5 of 5

We were really surprised at how spacious the home was. Everything is beautifully appointed and very tastefully furnished. The beds are extremely comfortable with great bedding. This home has absolutely everything that you could possibly need, the kitchen is completely stocked with every pot and pan and all the dishes you could ever need. The laundry room has everything. There are games and books and a large dining table and sitting room. It is better than being at home! The owner, Brian checked in on us along with the dogs who greeted us first and then after that we were completely private and on our own. Brian was very accommodating in every way. It just could not have been more perfect for our wedding weekend despite the rain. I took our grandchildren to visit the donkeys, the camel and Highland cows and they thought that was wonderful. We found it very convenient to our South Asheville wedding venue. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in 6 different properties during our holiday in the US and, without doubt, this was our favorite. The house was spacious, well designed and beautifully decorated. Everything you could need was provided and Brian and Linda couldn't have been more helpful. Despite the weather being unpredictable, we loved it all.

Excellent stay at a beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Upchurch's property during the end of April. Brian was very accommodating and the house was very clean and well appointed. The pictures do not do the house justice. The house and rooms are very spacious and lovely. We picked this property because of the great reviews and for the animals since our almost 2 year old loves animals! Silly reason, but the animals were awesome and a great addition! It was a great place to stay with a little one, plenty of space to run around in the house without many hazards! Good for an independent, energetic toddler! Brian was also kind enough to let our friends stay with us for a night. They are from Indiana and we are from Florida so we try to meet up once a year. They were staying in Gatlinburg so they drove over to spend time with us and it was very nice. They were also impressed with the house! It is a great location to get to different trails, waterfalls, etc and isn't that bad of a drive to get to downtown Asheville and places like the Biltmore. We would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to this area!
