A Perfect Getaway!
The lodge, the lake, the area is all beautiful! I rented the lodge with five of my friends, we all wanted to get away from work and spend time together and we all had a relaxing time renting this lodge.
The lodge is cozy, the lake is refreshing, and the area is quiet. We swam in the lake and used the two kayaks and plenty of lifeguard vests that were provided. We grilled a couple of times and used the gazebo which is awesome to use when you're grilling food outside. We had two campfires with the wood that is provided. There is a Wal-Mart about a half hour away that we went to a few times for all our grocery needs.
We went to Acadia Fun Park to ride Go-Karts and play Mini-Golf! We went to the Treworgy Family Orchard and did the Paul Bunyon Corn Maze and picked blueberries! We relaxed and had a great time staying at Jordan's Lodge! The owner Dale was very nice and was there to greet us and showed us the place. Dale was there if we ever needed him.
We all loved the place so much! If you're going to Maine for the first time or going again, the Jordan's Lodge is a great place to go! Thank you Dale, Gloria and Ryan for letting us all stay at your lodge! We all created new memories staying here!
Great family getaway
If you want remote, peaceful, and family friendly this is the place for you. From the perspective of a Mom of 4, 10 and under, this rental on Molasses Pond is hard to beat. A large, gradually deepening beach is just beyond the fire pit. The fire pit is fully stocked with wood, kindling, and chairs. The beach itself has large rocks on either end, great for climbing on and around in search of frogs. There are also kayaks, a paddle boat, and a large assortment of life jackets, along with lounge chairs to relax in and read as the children play.
Inside, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and modern appliances with ample seating to eat as well as couches to relax on. Having one of the bedrooms be a walk through might be awkward if 3 couples were renting together, but it wasn't a problem for our family of 6. There is an abundance of towels supplied, enough to handle showers and beach use. The laundry room has a large table and being able to just pack a couple of outfits per person, and no linens, really made for an easier before and after trip...no mountain of laundry to do upon arriving back home!
Yes, the owner is right across the shared driveway. Dale and Gloria are friendly and accommodating hosts. They are unobtrusive while being available for anything we might need, a delicate balance that they strike quite well. Even for odd requests, they come through. We all enjoyed getting to know them and appreciated their kindness to the children. If there was anything I could think of to improve the rental, it would be to have a few board games in the closet. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with our family.
Very nice place. Was great to have beachy area.
It was great to have the porch, fire pit, screened in area, paddle boat, and plenty of outside seating. There were a few dislikes. Having to walk through one bedroom to get to another. And the beds were noisy. We managed with the bathroom but a second toilet maybe in laundry room would be good. And label the light switches :)
Single, couple or family, this is an excellent place to spend a week's vacation. We are two families that have a tradition of camping together, each year visiting a different state. We just happened to fall upon this place and couldn't believe how lucky we were. The private beach and the house were immaculate. It was the perfect home base for visiting the surrounding area and had everything we needed. Although we try to travel to different places, this would be a place that we would make the effort to visit again. Thank you for all of your hospitality!
Gorgeous is an understatement!
We absolutely loved our stay at this adorable house! It is perfectly located on this beyond beautiful pond/lake. Dale, the owner was very accommodating, allowing us to arrive just a tad early, loaning us a lobster pot to cook our fresh lobster, and helping our boys start a fire. Having him on the property was no issue at all. He never bothered us at all. There were 9 of us during our stay, and everyone was comfortable, there were plenty of beds for all. Having a fully stocked kitchen was nice, as we cooked most of our meals for the week. For the coffee lovers, it comes equipped with both a regular coffee pot and a kuerig. I can't say enough about the lake...it was breathtaking. The sunsets were picture perfect every night! The water was so clear and being able to utilize the 2 kayaks for the week made exploring the lake even more fun. My husband also towed his boat up and we were able to put it in the lake right on the property! That was a bonus that we didn't have to find a public launch. There were also plenty of floats and life preservers to go around. There is also lots of lounge chairs and adirondak chairs to sit comfortably on. The nearest Walmart is about 30 min away and Acadia National Park is about 50 minutes away. Our 14 year old son fished every single day in the lake , and he caught 3 or 4 different species of fish. My husband and some of the others in our group also fished quite a bit and enjoyed it. The location of the lake is very peaceful and secluded. We would definitely recommend this quaint listing.
A great, private, beautiful vacation!
We have rented many places on various lakes. This one by far, had the best beach and water area. We had a 2 year old with us and it was absolutely perfect! Plenty of room, clean sand and clear water that was very gradual in depth. Plenty of room in the house, there were 7 adults. We were provided with lots of towels which almost never is the case. Acadia NationaI Park is near as is Bar Harbour where we spent a day sight seeing. I Would highly recommend this rental!
Enjoy swimming and boating on Molasses Pond from the 200 ft. private sand beach. 40 minutes to Ellsworth for shopping and 50 minutes to Acadia National Park for sight seeing.
