Overview

About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

This North Tahoe vacation condo is practically ski in/ ski out at Alpine Meadows, known as the 'locals' ski resort with its secret powder stashes and laid back attitude. In 2011 Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley merged creating unequalled skiing opportunities. A shuttle operates between the mountains and a single lift ticket is good for both. A short drive brings you to Olympic Valley and the world famous slopes of Squaw Valley USA. Tahoe City and and Lake Tahoe with dining, shopping are 6 miles south.

Enjoy our mountain condo nestled at the base of Alpine Meadows. Advanced skiers can ski from the Scott chair off the slopes to the condo. A shuttle is available on Holidays and some weekends to the bottom of the lifts a 1/4 mile away. A guest said it best 'This had to be one of the closest, most hassle free ways to ski alpine.' Squaw Valley, its slopes, restaurants, and shopping is six miles away. The family and beginner friendly ski resorts Homewood and Tahoe Donner are each within 20 miles; Northstar is also a short distance.

You can sit next to a warm fire as the powder piles up, knowing you can be the first on the hill. In the summer there is great mountain biking out your door. The beautiful Truckee river is at the bottom of the hill. Hike out the door into the Granite Chief wilderness of the Sierra Nevadas, then enjoy the evening on the deck with fantastic views.

The open ceilings and large windows on this end unit give you the feeling of being in a treehouse, with views out every window. The main living quarters and kitchen are on the second floor, maximizing the views. There is a woodstove in addition to wall heaters. There is a master bedroom upstairs with a queen bed. Downstairs is a bedroom with full bed and a bunkroom with five bunks which is perfect for kids. This is a remarkably quiet mountain perch, even during Tahoe's busiest holiday weekends.

About Carl Jones

We are avid skiers, cyclists, runners and hikers.

Carl Jones purchased this townhome in 2010

Why Carl Jones chose Lake Tahoe North Shore CA

I purchased this property to be both a great family location and place with good design and style. As a kid I was spoiled walking out my door to the slopes, so when I saw this condo I knew that was where I wanted to be. I love the small family feel of Alpine Meadows, combined with absolutely world class skiing. We love the layout of the condo and the beautiful views, we love the quiet of being up in the mountains.

What makes this townhome unique

Besides the easy access to skiing, fantastic trails lead out from the parking areas for many miles of great hiking and mountain biking. The kids will love the great sledding hills around.

Cozy condo with plenty of room.

  • 5 of 5

This is an excellent property in a beautiful location (doesn't hurt being surrounded in mountains of snow). End unit with lots of natural sunlight and beautiful scenery. Not our first time here and plan on staying again.

Comfortable place to stay for skiing trip!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great trip. The space was as advertised and Carl did a great job giving us information on time. The setup is nice for several adults (there were eight of us). The common space on the second floor is away from the bunk room downstairs, which is nice. Ski-in/ski-out depends on conditions (didn't work for us).

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

Two minutes from Alpine Meadows. You can drive right up and park or easily get dropped off right in front of the slopes. If you want to walk, Alpine has a ski valet that you can leave your skis overnight at the slope. Condo is right next to a great hill for sledding.

Kitchen was well equipped. Fireplace was easy and stocked with wood. TV was equipped with Dish and there were lots of board games to play. This was a good unit because it is on the end of the building so only has one neighbor as walls are a bit thin. Condo is what I expected for the price and a good value. Only downside is my young child did not care for the Mexican/Guatemalan mask collection that decorated the family room but I'm sure he will outgrow that. We would rent again! Thank you for a fabulous Christmas vacation!

We will be back to this amazing place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights in August, and enjoyed the entire time immensely! We would love to come back to ski this winter.

Nice things about the place:

- Spectacular views, great hikes out the front door.

- Quiet (it's an end unit)

- Comfortable (and numerous!) beds.

- Tastefully decorated

- Incredibly thoughtfully appointed. There was even a USB and iPhone charger in case you forgot yours at home! Everything you could possibly need was there - with one striking exception: There was no coffee! (This was an awful discovery to make at 6am :) ). Other than this oversight, the kitchen had everything we wanted, with better hardware than we had at home.

We had a truly great time. As I said, we'll be back. We just should not forget to pack the coffee :)

Cozy rental with wonderful facilities.

  • 5 of 5

My group and I stayed here for one night over the summer, and we had a wonderful time living at this vacation home. The home was not hard to find at all as it is relatively close to a main road. Entering the house was simple, and the rooms were all clean upon arrival. A couple hours after we entered the house, the lights in the bathroom and master bedroom on the first floor went out, but I called Carl and he helped me fix the problem right away.

The house definitely gives off a cozy feeling, and the neighborhood around the house is quiet. Sitting on the second floor dining table during the morning and looking at the view outside was such a relaxing way to start our day off. We truly enjoyed playing with the different board games inside the house and using the colorful cups. One of the highlights of our stay at this house was looking at the vast expanse of stars at night on the balcony on the second floor. I would definitely recommend medium-sized parties to book this rental during their stay at Lake Tahoe!

Great location, cozy and well equipped

  • 4 of 5

This place is 1 min drive from the slopes of Alpine Meadows. It has a nice charm due to very good decoration and the kitchen is very well equipped which was so important to the foodie I am. Great overall.
