If you are looking for privacy, a spectacular view, and luxurious comfort, your search is over. 47 Cape Creek is deeply secluded in Middle Island's maritime forest, yet just a five-minute cart ride from East Beach and the Shoals Club. You will never want to leave our 50-foot ipe deck with its high overlook of the marsh and creek. Our 3200-square-foot, professionally decorated home features a huge, fully stocked chef's kitchen, elevator and THREE golf carts, including one six-person stretch.

Watch movies on the 50-inch 1080p flat screen TV while relaxing on the Natuzzi leather sectional. The four master bedrooms, all with attached full baths, including the enormous king bedroom on the main floor, have plush mattresses, high-thread-count, 100%-cotton sheets and thick, 100%-cotton towels. On the entry level is a bunk room with an attached half bath. An outdoor shower, screened porch, and WiFi complete the amenities.

Both Shoals Club and BHI Club (with golfing privileges) temporary memberships available for purchase through us, but are not included as part of the rental fee.

We love to tour and travel around the world, but also need to unwind. Bald Head Island is our special place to totally relax. We always bring tons of books to read, and love to cook together, share afternoon tea, watch the sun slowly sinking, and watch family movies at night. There is beauty on the island everywhere you turn, it never fails to take our breath away.

Bald Head Island is a very unique place, where nature has been respected and preserved. This house was built by Charlie Young, the developer of Middle Island, for his own use. Sitting on a high bluff with wide view of Cape Creek and the Maritime Forest Preserve, this house was built with a good knowledge of island living. The deck is unbeatable, and is cooled all summer by the prevailing wind. The house is extremely spacious and comfortable, perfect for a larger group, two families, or anyone who wants total privacy and convenience.

What makes this house unique

If you love seclusion--not seeing or hearing any neighbors at all, yet want to be just minutes away from East Beach and the grocery store, this is your house. The house has so many wonderful attributes: our view is spectacular; the kitchen is huge and so well set up; we have put the best mattresses and linens on all the beds, the list goes on and on. You will not be able to decide where to best idle away your time, whether on the screened porch, on the deck, or in the living room. We are really excited to be renting the house ourselves, and want to pamper our renters with the best of BHI living.

Notes:
Three golf carts come with the property, a six seater and two four seaters. We now have two screened porches, one off the kitchen, one off the back deck, the later with a queen-sized daybed. We have boogie boards, over 14 beach chairs and beach towels, 4 adult beach bikes and 2 kids bikes. Also we offer golf with temporary membership to BHI Club. Please note that our fireplace is not operational.

Fantastic home with gorgeous, secluded setting

We LOVED our stay at 47 Cape Creek Road. This was our third year for our family summer vacation on Bald Head Island and the first time we chose to stay on Middle Island. And it won’t be our last! There were thirteen of us from four families, so we needed five bedrooms and bathrooms. This was the perfect house. It was so obvious that it is a well-loved home with great attention to detail and comfort and convenience. To list a few - having three golf carts all with the same keys, an elevator for transporting luggage and groceries, well-cared for bikes and beach chairs, plenty of beach towels, a giant shovel for our annual mammoth sand castle, well-equipped kitchen (we especially loved the toaster oven), two washers and three dryers all in working condition, a great selection of movies and books and games, comfortable beds with great linens, full bathrooms with wonderfully soft bath towels (and plenty of toilet paper and tissues), a beautiful secluded setting with a gorgeous marsh/creek view, a truly private beach just a short cart ride away, etc. etc.

The only small drawback for us was the bunk bedroom. Our four teenage granddaughters (ages 12, 13, 13, 16) are all very tall (5'5" to 5'9"), so the bunk bed was a bit small for them. Two used the air mattresses, which were quite comfortable and inflated easily.

To top it all off, working with Maggie was incredible. She did everything to make our stay comfortable and memorable, answered all our questions, helped us with arrangements for club memberships and kayak and paddleboard rentals, and made us feel so welcome. We were especially surprised and appreciative of the market gift card! I would totally recommend this house, this location, and this owner.

Wonderful vacation rental!

Best house, best location and best owner to work with! This house has everything one needs to relax. The location was away from the normal hustle and bustle of the rest of the island which was perfect for us. Middle island was just a short ride to the Maritime Market or any of the restaurants by the harbor. 3 golf carts were great as we had 3 couples and the 6 seater was perfect to take everyone to dinner!. We enjoyed the beautiful marsh views and all the wildlife.The house was large enough for everyone to spread out and enjoy some alone time yet the kitchen, dining area and living room were large enough to seat everyone with feeling crowded. We enjoyed the Shoals club enormously and wish it hadn't taken us so long to discover it!. The owner was very easy to work with and helpful. No issue getting in contact and very through in all aspects of the rental and arrival process. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful House, Beautiful Views

I recently stayed at Middle Island Plantation with a group of friends to attend a wedding. This house was absolutely perfect for us. The kitchen had plenty of space (and all the necessary tools) to prepare group meals, and there was plenty of open space between the kitchen, dining area, and living room. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also all well equipped and comfortable.

The description does not exaggerate in describing the back deck with it's incredible views. If it was not for wedding activities pulling us away from the house, I don't think we would have left the back deck all weekend. When you do need to leave the house, don't discount the benefit of having 3 golf carts at this house; that was a huge benefit for us.

Maggie was a very helpful, welcoming host to us and our group. She was very accessible and flexible with our needs, even when our group was a bit... difficult. I could not recommend this home and homeowner any more emphatically. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Relaxation at its finest!

This is our second stay at Maggie's Place and it will not be our last! If you are looking for a quiet place to spend your vacation, then look no further. We have vacationed on BHI for 6 years, all in different areas, and have found that we like looking out at the marsh the best. One of the best enjoyments of the trip was listening and seeing the bird life that surrounded us....especially the Painted Buntings!

The home is first class, with the kitchen having everything that you would need to prepare a gourmet meal. The layout of the home is very comfortable. Our favorite hangout was out on the back patio to watch the tidal marsh, or enjoying a morning coffee or late evening glass of wine in the screened in porch off the kitchen. Everything was in great working order. The golf carts were all in great working order also.

Maggie responded immediately when I had a question about turning on the lights in the screened in porch (circuit breaker had tripped) and also when we wanted to extend our stay for a few more days. She also went so far as to reschedule some annual home maintenance when we extended our stay - she didn't have to do that.

Maggie's Place is first class, as is Maggie!

Beautiful home in peaceful setting

Our family of five were here for a long spring weekend and enjoyed every moment of our stay in this beautiful, well appointed home. The views are spectacular - we did not want to leave the deck. Great place to re-boot.
