The Palms is a 33 unit tower located at the serene and upscale north end of Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. This fully furnished and amenity filled 6th floor end unit provides 1400 sf of upscale living for up to 5. On the balcony you enjoy ocean breeze living and views of Jaco and it's 2 mile long beach, all fronted by the Pacific Ocean.
From the entry into the foyer the floor plans at The Palms give you immediate access to the bedrooms, laundry, storage and guest bathroom. Then just beyond the foyer you enter the kitchen/living room combo - it’s a large and open floor plan for maximum useable space! All the units in the Palms have basically the same efficient layout so more room for the full balconies. The biggest and best in Jaco, and as good as anywhere in the world. 604 is not the top unit on the Palms’ south tower, it’s one unit below, with no eaves dripping after rain, or roofline extension affecting camera shots or ocean view.
And what a view! Because the xx4 units at the Palms aren’t on a property line, our left hand side is not a solid wall but more balcony rail. That simple fact plus the 6th floor height gives us incredible breeze access and views of not only the beach and Pacific Ocean, but all 2 miles of Jaco Beach and the surrounding mountains.
The sun comes up over the eastern mountains to the left, and within your view, and beautiful sunsets over the center rail to the west! It's about a 300 degree panoramic view, ranging from nearly east to south and on around to full west.
604 is high enough not to hear much human banter from below but open and low enough to hear the waves greeting the beach. Also it seems we are at optimal height for reliable "fly by" from Scarlet Macaws, frequently going by at eye level in early mornings and late afternoon. A bold claim I know, but it is frequent enough that I can say it to be true! 604 balcony is world class and one of the best in Jaco!
At night you get a star rich sky that will have you learning constellations. Orion the hunter, Cassiopeia and the Southern Cross are my favorites.
The kitchen is fully operational with all the appliances and utensils you will need, including a one button microwave for the quick eats. But there is no reason to cook while in Jaco with all the different restaurants for all budgets, and many choices of cuisines.
Your full table meals can be cooked, or almost any restaurant will gladly do take out by phone with credit card. Then you can get a delivery from any one of the local delivery services for around $ 2-3/Hot! You can eat at the 3 chair serving bar, or quaintly with table cloth and candlelight on the balcony and the 4 -6 chair expandable teak table.
The living room includes entertainment center with DVD player, music system, blue tooth sound bar and 18”HK Bluetooth speaker that can also be used for phone calls. Of course we have WiFi and premium cable Programming viewable in every room via wall mounted flat screen HD TVs. The best is the 55" UHD Smart TV in living room. All TVs have DVD players options. And of course, there are plenty of DVDs for the rainy days.
The master bedroom has private access to the balcony and private full bath. The master bedroom has super comfortable king bed and quality linens to ensure the sleep that starts with the sound of the surf rolling into the shore. Before you can be sure it’s time you will be asleep. The kind of sleep you only remember from your last vacation. It’s the beginning of slow time.
The large guest bedroom has classic picture frame mountain views and includes a queen bed and a single twin bed to easily provide sleeping for 3. The bathroom is just outside the door and also shares its full bath with the rest of the living area. The guest bedroom also closets the queen size auto inflate air mattress with linens providing another option for more guest, or if you simply need to have privacy with separate arrangements.
For additional guest, up to 5/6 total, other options are provided with the 5 recliners living room suite, or balcony sofa. Just in case!
The bedrooms both have large closets for hanging clothes, and are stocked with extra linens, variety of towels, pillows and a hotel safe. There is also an iron and ironing board for what I don’t know but it’s option during your stay. I have learned the electric washer and dryer closet with dryer sheets can provide that vacation smooth look on quick spin.
The bathrooms include high flow shower head and rapid recovery 40' gallon water heater, hairdryer and a
makeup mirror for her added convenience.
Many while away the morning on the balcony with our supplied binoculars providing enhanced ocean and beach views! As the day heats up go back inside to get cool from the energy efficient air conditioning system. It works fast, and separate room units/controls called “splits” keep everyone happy.

Easy access from San Jose Airport using one of the many very friendly and reliable shuttle service or taxis and vans with the new modern toll highway is something that we highly recommend!! Leave the driving off your duty list on this vacation! The modern highway provides predictable speed limit rides - 1.5 hour from SJO airport in San Jose to Jaco! If you need rental cars we have plenty of vendors in Jaco. All the big ones are here or 5 miles away at the nearby Los Suenos Marina and Resort. That facility with its shops, restaurants, Marriott and 18 hole golf course are just good company for the biggest international Marina north of the Panama Canal.
If you are driving in here are our directions, but you really should forgo the rental cars from San Jose for many reasons to numerous to name,
Directions to Jacó...
The toll road from San Jose to Puntarenas, aka "Harbour Highway" is evidence that Costa Rica wants to see more traveling tourist to go West! This highway (CR 27) completed in 2010 is the fastest route to Jacó from the airport and San Jose. There are several ways to access the new highway, and the best route depends upon where you are picking up your rental car. The rental agency should be able to provide a map to the highway. Once you're on the highway, it is a straight shot to Orotina. After about 45 minutes and just past the toll booth in Orotina, you exit right, take the cloverleaf to the roundabout and continue south for about 30 minutes on the coastal highway (CR34) to Jacó. Depending where you access the highway and how many toll booths you hit, the toll costs run $3 - $5 total.
You can also take the old highway (CR 3) over the Aguacate Mountains. It is a steeper and more windy road, but quite scenic if you are acustomed to driving in Costa Rica. From the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), take the Bernardo Soto Carretera (Hwy 1) north toward San Ramon. Exit at La Garita and follow signs to Carara National Park, Atenas & Orotina. Continue on this road through La Garita and the towns of Atenas, San Mateo and Orotina. As you pass through Orotina, follow the signs to Jacó. Stay on this road until the toll booth. Just past the toll booth, exit right and follow the signs for Jacó. Drive time from the airport to Jacó is about 2 to 3 hours, depending on truck traffic.
For those of you who would rather leave the driving to someone else, we have wonderful and trustworthy bilingual drivers that can pick you up at the airport or shuttle you anywhere in the country.
From almost any major airport in the US you can book a non stop flight to San Jose, Costa Rica and take reliable shuttle service from there to Jaco. Be in the condo and on the Pacific Ocean in 4-7 hours, depending on your point of origin. From Atlanta on Delta we are oceanfront in 5 hours!! But not any ocean, and not any place. This is Jaco, Costa Rica, and that is the Pacific Ocean. A world away and in paradise - in 5 hours!
What are you waiting for? And yes, I had that same feeling the first time, and every time since when I see this beach from my balcony. I get that same rush and appreciate that this country is only 5 hours from my first home in Atlanta, Georgia.
Now that is a vacation worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime!!!
We will be glad to assist you in all aspects of your travel arrangements.
