Wonderful stay Xmas week 2016

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed for Christmas week 2016 and had a lovely time. The villa is exactly as shown in the pictures. The house is very clean and the decor is really nice with plenty of space for our 6 people to spread out. Ania, our cook and housekeeper was terrific and very sweet. She made us breakfast every day and dinner 4 nights (the other nights we had dinner out - but honestly Ania's home cooking was better than the restaurants - especially her paella). Ania does live in the house while you are there and she takes good care of you. We had the use of 2 golf carts included in the price which was great. You do need to go food shopping for the house when you get there - Ania will come with you and the supermarket is close by and well stocked. We did not speak Spanish fluently but we managed just fine with the help of Google translate. You do need to take a taxi or rent a car to get to the supermarket (you cannot take the golf carts there). The house is very private and in a nice area of the resort. The beach was a 2 minute ride in the golf cart from the house and the restaurant & drinks at the beach club were very good (we ate lunch there every day at the beach). My kids went horseback riding and swimming in the ecological preserve on the resort property. Unfortunately we didn't get to go snorkeling because the holiday week was totally booked. We went to the Westin on the property for dinner one night but I was not impressed at all. The restaurant at the marina, La Yola, was much better.

The villa owner Fandos and his daughter Rocio (who translated for us) were a pleasure to work with and addressed all my questions/concerns quickly. They were very patient with me since I did have a lot of questions because this was the first time I'd rented a villa like this in the DR. They arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport which was helpful. Overall the house and the resort itself are beautiful, everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this villa and the Punta Cana Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in the DR. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back soon.

Sweet spot

  • 3 of 5

We were a family of 7 adults and one child travelling at Christmas time to Punt Cana for the first time. The owner, Fandos was very prompt with answering questions during booking.

The house: A great size with many options for sitting and dining, spacious rooms, very clean and all have air conditioners (though the controllers would go in and out of working) and there is only 1 king bed not 2)

The property itself was perfect for our needs, a lovely pool with perfect amount of shade and sun and a grassy area around it which was great for our daughter to run around on.

Activities: Punta Cana offers two different golf courses which were fabulous and close by. Tennis on sand courts that are even available for night games all in great condition

The “petting zoo” and Eco park are all close by and have well maintained grounds and cared for animals. But is really more like a little farm. The lagoons were interesting to swim in (3 different ones open to swim) a nice walk which would take about an hour.

There are a variety of beaches about 2-10 minutes away. When we went had a lot of seaweed shores and mirky unclear water. Patches of small stones and coral made walking out tricky at times but finding sandy patches wasn’t impossible. And you could definitely find a nice spot to sit on the beach an be undisturbed.

Things to note:

There is a live in housekeeper who is kind but runs a tight ship. And it at times it was quite awkward as we felt as though we were living in her home (which we were!). She was everywhere. Cleaning the pool just as everyone had there suits on! When attempting to make meals she was in the kitchen watching either attempting to anticipate my needs (cleaning dishes I was still using) If you do not speak spanish (as we did not) it will be challenging. We had many broken conversations with google translate. We learned you will either need to take her shopping with you to get ingredients or pay for her cab into town.

A cab is 40$ US to the shopping plaza. It is NOT accessible by golf cart. So renting a car was helpful as we made daily trips because we enjoy preparing meals at will. The shopping plaza has everything you will need. And unlike other homes we have rented you will need everything if you plan to cook, olive oil, salt, pepper ect.

Both golf carts broke down constantly as did a toilet and an air conditioner and the dishwasher!

Overall this was a g place to stay but wanted to be clear about some of the little things

Beautiful home, great golf resort

  • 4 of 5

My extended family stayed for seven nights in the villa for New Year's week. The property is well represented in the listing. The rooms are comfortable with separate air conditioning controls in each. The living area with adjoining dining room works well for a large group like ours. We also enjoyed the private pool and patio. The beach and pool club (at the golf shop) are close by - either an easy walk or quick ride in the golf cart. Beverage service at the beach wasn't great, and villa representatives at the golf club were not helpful - staff at the Puntacana Hotel were much better. It was great that two four-passenger golf carts were available at the villa. We also appreciated Ania's help with grocery shopping and cooking. Take a Spanish/English dictionary because she doesn't speak much English. We asked her to cook several dinners, including fish that was caught on a morning fishing trip arranged through the water sports shop. The scuba diving was interesting but strong winds did not allow for snorkeling. Golfers in the group were happy with the Puntacana Resort golf (driving range is close to villa) and some off-site options as well. The owner, Fandos, was helpful before our trip in arranging for transportation from the airport and for groceries to be at the house upon arrival. The resort is quite spread out and the grocery store is 10 minutes away so we were glad that we rented cars to get around. Thanks, Fandos!

Love the villa and Punta Cana

  • 5 of 5

We loved the villa. It was very comfortable and the decor modern. The air conditioning worked great. We had everything we needed. Ania the maid/cook was great. She prepared 3 dinners and all of our breakfasts for us. She took us the grocery store and helped us select the food for our meals. The taxi driver, helped push the carts and carried all the groceries. We felt very pampered. We didnt have to do any dishes or clean the entire week. A nice break from our normal lives. There are 2 golf carts, which you will need to get around the huge resort. They are quirky to start, but run great and fun to drive. We also visited the Bavaro area, and it was much too busy for us. We were glad we selected the Punta Cana area. We felt as though we had the place to ourselves. I would highly recommend the villa

We loved the villa

  • 5 of 5

The villa is located with in the Punta Cana Resort, in the Tortuga Bay area. The villa was tremendous, we love the decor and everything was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well. The pool in the back yard was nice. We used it a few times. Ania, our maid, and cook, was very helpful and the food was good. We had her cook 3 dinners and all our breakfasts, as we wanted to eat out as well. Ania accompanied us tot he grocery store, where she made suggestions and the driver who took us, carried all the groceries for us. We felt very pampered. The resort is huge, so the golf carts are necessary and very fun to drive. We explored all parts of the resort. We also visited the Bavaro area, during a catamaran tour, it looked very busy. We were glad we stayed in the villa. It was a relaxing experience, we felt like we had the resort to ourselves.

Truly in Paradise for R&R

  • 5 of 5

In August 2011, we returned to Los Angeles from our wonderful stay at this beautiful villa. From the moment we arrrived we were greeted by Ania, the housekeeper, who did an excellent job of attending to our needs. The villa was beautifully kept and spacious for all of us (7 adults) to enjoy. The beaches, the clubhouse and the grounds were a perfect spot for family fun and relaxation! We felt it was a true home away from home!

Thank you again to the owners for the use of their lovely home and the great hospitality offered throughout our interactions. Their home and its location is a true treasure in paradise. We plan to return next year and have recommended this location to many family members and friends in the US and Carribean.
