Starr Pass was a great location to enjoy Tucson as everything was pretty close. The condo was well stocked with cookware and a few necessary food items when we arrived. Check-in could not have been easier. The only draw back was the road noise which we pretty much got used to during our stay. Pool, exercise room and golf course were close by as was the Catalina Grill which we enjoyed a lot. All in all it was an enjoyable stay.
Beautiful property; noise ruined stay
This rental was beautiful decorated in the southwestern style and ready for visitors. What minor issues were handled very timely by the housekeepers. What should have been a pleasant vacation, turned into a not so pleasant one. The problem here is the echo within the rental; but mostly from the traffic on the street. Then there was the "crotch rocket boy" who let you know he was coming and going by cranking his crotch rocket up and does not understand the meaning of "25 mile speed limit". He was not alone with the speed limit issue. Thanks to him, we were all up early in the morning when he was on his way to work, (at the golf club I think) and knew when his shift was over. A covering over the fence might help with some of the noise. As for the crotch rocket boy, good luck..........
post script..May 1, 2018..I just returned from a weeks stay in Tucson and can happily report the "CROTCH ROCKET BOY" is no longer a factor.....
previous response to rose....
yes, while i was in Tucson at my place up the street I too heard " Crotch rocket boy"
-lol- who either is a new hire at the JW Marriott or at the golf course - and either doesn't care or has no clue his little motorcycle can be heard all over starr pass. not quite sure what to do about him... probably all residents of Starr pass are feeling the same thing... perhaps a neighbor ambush?? Other than that, Starr pass is a pretty peaceful place to live. and as many things in life, , this too will pass... And yes, those great high ceilings that so many people enjoy and also that give our place a spaciousness would certainly echo for noises as mentioned above.
As for cars, street noise, airplanes above etc, many people own property and live by Starr pass blvd including myself and sounds are just things that you incorporate into your life.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the décor and feel of the place, hopefully you took advantage of our guest privileges at the club with the pool, Jacuzzi, work out room, and golf discount. and yes, our managers are really great! they care about our guests and it seems each quest has some special need so we try to accommodate each one. Now lets see if "Crotch rocket boy" moves on!
Great venue! Clean and well laid out. The owner and property managers were exceedingly helpful.
No negative comments whatsoever. Property and owner/managers a delight to deal with. Very clean and attractive/comfortable. Highly recommend
Great location for Desert Visit!
I grew up in Tucson and came back for the Christmas holiday with my husband and 4 adult kids. This home is located at the very beginning of the Starr Pass complex which contains homes, condos, 27 holes of golf, and two hotels.
The unit is lovely...southwest decor is very nicely displayed. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. We brought our own air mattress but noticed there were 2 single fold out mattresses in the garage for renters use. The pull out bed located in the leather sofa was o.k. too. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils for cooking. The two bathrooms were spacious and clean. Outdoor patio was nice for relaxing and enjoying the desert weather...high 70's during our stay.
We played golf at Starr Pass and had a great time. The course is challenging but not horribly so. Lots of wildlife to see on the course. The discount you get with renting the condo is a great deal too!
At this condo you are very close to a lot of things to do in Tucson such as The Sonoran Desert Museum, Gates Pass, Old Tucson, and more. Located only a short ride from the freeway (I-10) you can easily get to activities that are further out of town like Tombstone, Tubac, Karchner Caverns, and the Old Mission. Downtown nightlife and restaurants are also only a short ride away. I would recommend El Charro Cafe (on Court Ave), HUB, and Caruso's for dinner. The Coronet and Mosaic Cafe for breakfast.
Renting from the owner and management was very easy. They were prompt with responding to my emails regarding any questions.
The only negative about the location of this home is the backyard faces the main road going to/from Starr Pass and there is noticeable noise from the traffic. The Master bedroom is at the back so we woke up to the busy morning rush. If your goal is to have a tranquil commune with nature then this is not the place.
For us it was great and we would stay here again!
thank you lisa! we strive to make our unit a place we too would enjoy staying in. As far as the noise that is occasionally heard from traffic, I can't do anything about that. Our units are located in a neighborhood and traffic noise is a part of that. If you just arrive, it may bother you, however, after a few days, people seem to get into the rhythm. also, there are many homes and units that connect either back or front to starr pass blvd so it does not bother all the people that own. I would caution though, if outside noise of any sort keeps you up at night or you are a SERIOUSLY Light sleeper, perhaps I would suggest another homeaway unit. I live in an area where I hear a train, and it now sooths me! LOL!
Spacious, comfortable, very well stocked, great location for us.
We loved it. Very nice in every way.
Great Summer Getaway
We really enjoyed staying at Starr Pass in this lovely home that was ready with everything we needed for our family of 4. Though our stay was pushed back a day since the AC had some issues, Dawn was very accommodating. We would definitely recommend for small families and anyone who enjoys some peace, quiet and and beautiful desert landscape. This place is perfect!
The location is Starr Pass in Tucson, a desert Oasis in the mountains that includes the location for the new 5 Star Marriott hotel and convention center and the Starr Pass resort with its champion 27 hole golf course. Located above the city but only minutes away to vibrant downtown, the University of Arizona, the convention center , museums and shopping . You can access both I-10 and I-19 right down the the hill making it accessible to all of Tucson and southern Arizona. Golf: The Starr Pass championship 27 hole course is the center of Starr Pass! fantastic views from every hole. as guests of our membership you receive a 50 percent off rate off your game!
