This unique and one of a kind house was featured on the HGTV and GAC shows 'You Live in What?' in 2015. It was built in 1861, originally as a residence, with wood siding and the entrance facing Jones Street. Around the turn of the century, it was converted to a grocery store, stuccoed, and the front door was moved to the corner, like many of the businesses in the Landmark Historic District. It remained a grocery until 1980 and then was converted back to a residence, although the door remained at its present location on the corner.

The house is located on Jones Street, which is reputed to be the most beautiful street in Savannah. You are within walking distance of everything in the Landmark Historic District, and only blocks from Clary's, Mrs. Wilke's Dining Room, the Firefly Cafe, and the Mercer House. River Street, Broughton Street, and Forsyth Park are all within walking distance through the beautiful squares of Savannah.

The house is very open and surprisingly spacious inside, with a very large modern kitchen, which is open to the living and dining area. Be a couch potato, while watching the wall mounted 42 inch flat screen TV. Or enjoy your favorite program or movie while preparing a meal in the totally renovated kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and has brand new stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops.

The bedroom is separated from the living area by sliding glass panels. The bathroom is large and has a jetted shower.

Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine in your cozy private landscaped courtyard.

This house is very comfortable for one or two adults, and up to two younger children, or three adults only. It is not suitable for two couples. If your group consists of two couples, I would suggest booking a property that has two bedrooms.

This house is pet friendly for an additional fee. However, due to insurance restrictions, certain breeds of dogs, any dog whose lineage contains a part of that breed, or any dog with a previous bite or attack history, are not allowed on the premises. I bought this property because it gives guests the opportunity to have an entire house with private courtyard to themselves. Most one bedroom properties are condos without any outside space or ones that share a courtyard.

Beautiful, Clean Home in Perfect Location

We loved our stay in Savannah. E. Jones Street is absolutely beautiful -- we loved walking to and from the house. Everything inside is perfectly maintained, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. Looking forward to returning soon!

Beautiful Property and Area

This was out first time visiting Savannah Ga, and what a wonderful stay we had.

Betty was very kind and her place was very comfortable, clean and had everything you would need. The location of the place was perfect, walking distance to everything.

Betty provided some great restaurants in the area which all were fantastic.

We are definitely coming back again soon.

Home Away from Home

We absolutely love this little house and its location in our favorite Southern city. Perfect for two people, this home is lovingly cared for and is ideal for those wanting to be close enough to walk the wonderful squares and parks of Savannah but far enough away to relish the quiet charm of the neighborhood streets just outside the historic district. Betty is a shining star of a host: her attention to detail unmatched and her exquisite taste reflected throughout the home from the linens to the artwork to the fixtures and furnishings. After a day of walking and cycling around Savannah it was a pleasure to relax inside or outside on the private fenced-in patio where we were able to keep our bikes. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to our little home away from home.

Our second stay was as great as the first!

This was our second time staying at Betty's cute little home on East Jones Street and it was just as wonderful as the first! It is located in a great location, as you can walk anywhere in the historic district. As usual, we eat out a few nights and cook in the other nights and the kitchen has everything that one would need to prepare a great meal. The bathroom shower was renovated since our last stay and it is just gorgeous. The bed was also just as comfortable as we remember. We will definitely be back again, as we love visiting Savannah during the holidays! Thanks again Betty for such wonderful hospitality!
