stellar week in el pescadero

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in el pescadero and I feel like we found the perfect place to stay. We were a group of four, two couples, and we agreed that the house was perfect to share for the week. The location is awesome-- 15 minutes to Todos Santos, 10 minutes down to Cerritos, and a 100 yard walk to the beach from the house. The house and property are well cared for, unique and fun. We had a fantastic time preparing some of our own dinners at the house and the Kitchen had all the basic amenities. The hosts-- Ricky an Tara are very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They went out of there way to make sure we were set up for success on the beach and hitting the streets for tacos and local surf breaks. For my next visit to the area, I will be checking here first for availability!!

More whales than people! Best Vaca

  • 5 of 5

We have been traveling to cabo for 16 years and after all that time we finally decided to rent a house in Pescadero instead of Cabo. It was time to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We had stayed at Rancho Pescadero for a few days on and off over the years and this is how we knew that this is the beach where we wanted a house. Rick and Tara's house is absolutely perfect for the quiet secluded get away you may be needing. Rick and Tara were amazing hosts that provided everything we needed and even allowed us to pick vegetables from their garden at will. Tara provided a fresh fruit and veggie bowl along with beers upon arrival. In our opinion they are truly living the "No Bad Days" Cabo life and you will want to move there after spending several days on their compound. We spent our days on the beach watching the whales. This large expanse of beach is breathtaking. Rick was great at telling us all the best places to eat in Pescadero and Todos Santos. The food did not disappoint and was super cheap. I highly recommend hitting the Baja Beans coffee shop on Sunday for their Farmer's Market. Thank you Rick and Tara! We will be back.

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

I have made many trips to the Caribbean at hotels, all-inclusive and by cruise ships. I wanted to try a a beach rental and the Pacific. This place was perfect! We stayed at Rick and Tara's place for 7 days and had the time of our life's. Rick and Tara were amazing hosts they checked in on us a couple times to make sure we had everything we needed and left us alone to do our own thing. They also had great ideas to go check out the surrounding towns with awesome places to eat at. The place was big and spacious, there were four of us that stayed comfortably. We didn't have to worry about locking anything up when we left. We all felt safe and free of harm. The ocean was just a quick walk from the house which was completely breath taking. We were able to enjoy a cookout on the beach. It was nice to be able to go up on the roof top and lay in the hammock watching the stars while listening to the waves of the ocean hit in the back ground, our little piece of serenity. Several times we enjoyed walking into town and visiting all the little outside shops with handmade materials. It was great to adventure out and learn how other cultures live in the surrounding areas compared to ours. We will definitely look at coming back to visit again.

Bloody beaut mate!

  • 5 of 5

Traveling from Australia it was a relief to arrive at a place that felt like ours with a really chilled and mellow vibe. We stayed at Rick and Tara's accommodation for 4 weeks as a family and had an awesome time. The house had everything we needed and had a great Baja atmosphere of living on the beach in the great outdoors. Nothing was a bother for Rick and Tara and they were great hosts but left us alone to do our own thing. The house had 2 comfortable rooms with their own bathrooms, spacious open living area, kitchen and roof top where you could see the ocean. Its an ideal location especially for surfing in-between 2 surf breaks and a 15min drive to Todos Santos. Really quiet day and night which made it easy to relax and read whenever. Also felt really safe there, we never locked anything up and left the house open all the time. Definitely would recommend to those who like their own space and for something different from the usual hotel resort experience. Wish I didn't live so far away!!

Nice place.

  • 3 of 5

The owners are sweet as can be and were very helpful and gave recommendations for restaurants and surf. The place itself is not a 5 star resort but a nice place to rest your head. Only downfall is even though it says air conditioning; it is broken and if you are there from June - September it might be hard to sleep at night. They gave us a fan but it was still pretty uncomfortable. Overall great location and nice hosts!

I'm almost conflicted about writing this review because i selfishly want to keep this place a secret but Tara, Ricky and Robert deserve it. This place was glorious. End of story. My wife and i just spent 9 days of pure relaxation here and i can't think of a single thing that wasn't awesome. The place was big, super clean and just simply made for easy, comfortable living. I can't imagine why anyone would pay the same amount or more to stay at a resort. Its right on the beach, a 5 minute drive from town. Pescadero is the perfect place in Baja, not busy but has everything you need, even a wicked coffee shop Baja Beans. They have a pool which was about 84 degrees every day. Tara, Ricky and Robert were the kindest of hosts, classic west coast hospitality and very laid back but very caring that we had everything we needed. It was perfect. Basically we just lived a cliche, hollywood version of what you would picture a vacation to be in Baja, Mexico.
