THE ULTIMATE ROMANTIC GETAWAY BY THE CREEK, A Luxury One Bedroom Cabin--- This truly unique dream house project is designed by a California architect husband and an architectural designer / construction manager wife. You will love the complete privacy and the surrounding rocky stream you see from every room. Enjoy a quiet morning coffee or sipping a glass of wine in a lazy afternoon sitting on the covered porch overlooking the creek. The outdoor hot tub is great for soothing massage while listening to the creek and sounds of the forest. Creekside Cabin is a perfect sanctuary to celebrate your special day or just de-stress your busy life. An ideal place for your special celebrations, honeymoon, anniversary or just a romantic getaway.

Creekside Cabin is built within a private equestrian development known as Leatherwood Mountains, located close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, Blowing Rock and Wilkesboro.

Unique Mountain Cabins: We have two one bedroom cabins in the same area.

Please visit www.UniqueMountainCabins.com for additional information.

Our cabins are individually designed by an architect to capture all the natural beauty of the surroundings. You can relax and enjoy the quietness of the mountains while visiting our cabin.

Owners' Comments: We stumbled upon our Leatherwood Mountains home site one day on our way back home to California after a long RV trip. It was a love at first sight. We made an offer on the property the next day. We moved to North Carolina in the summer of 2003 and started planning our projects. Burdette is a retired Architect and I am a retired construction manager and architectural designer. It has been a rewarding experience to build unique mountain cabins. We have completed our permanent home in the mid 2012 and living here in Leatherwood Mountains all year around. We love to wake up in our mountains and see the tall trees, rocky creek, deer and turkeys just outside the windows. We found the gardening a challenge in the mountains but we like working at it.

Other Activities: Good fishing at Elk Creek (License Required), Community Tennis Court & Swimming Pool(summer), Wilkesboro YMCA -Good GYM- on NC268, about 20 miles from Leatherwood. My favorite things to do is take a scenic drive through Blue Ridge Parkway stop at several beautiful spots for picnic and leisurely stroll along easy trails or hike to waterfalls. Grandfather Mountain is a well known spot along the Parkway. You can go to Blowing Rock, a small resort town with nice shops and restaurants about 25 miles away. You can do white water rafting, canoeing or zip line adventure though the outfitters in Boone. Horse back trail rides through Leatherwood Mountains stable or other stables in Boone area. There are several wineries to explore in the nearby areas. Many of our guests just want to stay around the cabin and relax in the private mountain setting.

About Myung Pulver

We stumbled upon our Leatherwood Mountains home site one day on our way back home to California after a long RV trip. It was a love at first sight. We made an offer on the property the next day. We moved to North Carolina in the summer of 2003 and started planning our projects. Burdette is a retired Architect and I am a retired construction manager and architectural designer. We love to wake up in our mountains and see the tall trees, rocky creek, deer and turkeys just outside the windows. We found the gardening a challenge in the mountains but we like working at it.

Why Myung Pulver chose Ferguson

It feels like you are in a National Forest with natural surroundings and no other houses in sight. But the property is within a private gated community which offers a sense of security and shared amenities such as swimming pool and tennis courts.

What makes this cabin unique

There is an independently owned resort business just outside of our subdivision. The Leatherwood Mountains Resort operates vacation home rentals for absentee owners, horseback riding, stables and a seasonal restaurant.

There are no words to describe how peaceful this cabin is...

  • 5 of 5

We made last minute reservations at Creekside Cabin for our 20th anniversary this week. I cannot describe how wonderful the cabin is laid out, how the owners prepared everything, and how peaceful the surrounding area is. Saying my husband loves the wood burning fireplace is an understatement. There was plenty of wood available but we brought our own so as not to use too much of the owners. They had a log carrier available as well as some starter. No detail was missed. The stonework is beautiful throughout the house. We loved the floors, the kitchen and all of the kind notes left for instructions on how things worked.

The master suite is my favorite part of the cabin. A cracked sliding glass door lets in the soothing sound of the creek while the double jetted spa tub is suited for a relaxing bath. The rain shower in the open windows was a little intimidating at first but ended up being probably the best shower I have ever had. We felt like we were showering in nature.

I needed these few days away from the hustle and bustle to reconnect with my husband and just to settle my own thoughts. I am convinced if more couples would take a “time out” more often, there would be more successful marriages.

Many thanks for thinking of everything... spa robes, small fan, firewood, starter, gas grill, porch chairs, and easy instructions for everything.

Please don’t stop renting because we are already planning our next trip.. thanks again.

Owner's Response: We also love the wood fire in the cold days in the mountain. So glad you enjoyed all the things we thought of making a nice getaway place. Thank you, Myung

Great place for a getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Creekside Cabin six years ago. It's the same as it was but with the addition of the "bidet" seat on the master toilet. Imagine...it even warms up when you sit on it.

It was as neat as a pin and very clean.

We'll go back someday.

Beautiful and amazing as always!!

The beauty and solitude of this cabin is unmatched. This was our third trip and we plan to continue coming for many years to come. The owners are wonderful people that miss nothing and are extraordinarily hospitable as they allow others to share this piece of heaven on earth.

tranquil and elegant environment.

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with my fiance, we are in 50ties, during thanks giving weekend.

We wanted to get to know each other well and rest from non stop work that both of us have.

This place is just right for us.

No interruptions of passing by cars or people. We ate, walked, talked, slept. That is all we did.

Fireplace, hot tub both indoor and outdoor, we enjoyed.

The constantly running creek adds more to the natural beauty.

The cabin is thoughtfully made.

We did not do horseback riding, next time.

If you prefer excitement/activities, I suggest other options.
